I suspect there is enough murderous rage in the Orthodox community in Israel that if Netenyahoo or any other Israel leader gave all of the West Bank to the Palestinians and ordered the dismantling of Jewish settlements there, then this rage unleashed would result in the murder of innocent Israelis and Palestinians. I have enormous respect for Anne Sander's public stance on these issues. She is honest and fearless, and by speaking out, she has helped to prove false the antisemitic image of the Jew cowering in a corner anticipating the next sign that someone may be against him, Real antisemitism does not depend on evidence of Jewish evil-doing. It is, however, significant that Ms. Sander's attackers seem to be aware precisely of what evil is being referred to. I believe that their aim is to make all of us feel threatened, and, therefore to close our mouths and our minds towards enlightenment of any kind regarding our opponents.

I have unitl recently not understood why the Rabbinut in Israel has been so sceptic and put so many obstacles to conversions. Where is the Chief Rabbi of Norway, Rabbi Michael Melchior, in all this tragic state of communal affairs for which he, as the comunal spiritual head, must take full responsibility? How is it possible that this elected President of an established orthodox Jewish community can speak in such disparaging terms of our homeland, it's people and government on the one hand, and publicly demonise and disparage a beloved Chabad Rabbi and his movement who are in her hometown with the sole purpose of nurturing Jewish learning and encouraging observance of our Torah mandated Mitzvot ? Or is this the problem? Will this community continue to receive Diaspora funding from the State of Israel it so criticizes to our declared enemies?

I have read very disturbing reports concerning Haredim, but I personally know some Chabad House members here in Dallas and I find them to be kind, generous, loyal, and respectable.
