In an effort to ingratiate his country with the Arab/Islamic world, the US administration has shown a disturbing eagerness to vilify, denigrate and isolate the Jewish state of Israel. Utter contempt has been shown for the Jewish claim to the 'disputed' territories, not least Jerusalem with it's 3,000 year Jewish heritage. The US now spends considerable time engaging rogue Islamic states such as Syria and Iran in order to promote and redeem it's own image in the region while sacrificing Israel on the altar of political expediency. I find the hypocritical stance of the US Government and State Department to be deplorable and totally unacceptable. Both the US government and State Dept. seem to be in full accord with the Palestinian/Arab stance of making areas of Israel's ancient homeland "Judenrein" by "resettling" the Jews elsewhere and creating their own "final solution" to the Jewish problem. Recent European history has already shown the basic premise behind such policies. Clearly the same ancient hatred would now appears to have roots in the US although again camouflaged amidst more elements of political expediency. These policies and attitudes bring shame upon a once great nation. I fear that those who indeed forget history are in danger of repeating it. Obama's Administration faces that danger head on and will be found severely wanting in due course.

I totally agree with Michael Fenenbock. Mr. Obama is behaving like an arrogant headmaster, and his administration like teachers. First of all, if anything the political realities in both Israel and the Palestinian territories have made a two-state solution nearly impossible. But more importantly, what is the alternative? Transfer? A bi-national state? War and expulsion? At least Obama has the guts to present a vision and push towards it. Anyone else?

I cannot understand how any Jew could have supported this man for President. If you had really researched him, you would have seen where his views and attitudes lie. Heck, it was apparent from the beginning when he basically was bowing to the Muslim world and kissing their ass. I am not Jewish but I do know the long-standing relationship with Israel and the importance of their being our ally in that region of the world. Now this president is undoing decades of that in basically one short year. I do hope that this is one more group of Americans who will vote against his liberal friends in Congress in 2010 and against Obama in 2012.
