However this friendship has come to an end with an anti Israel leader in the US, a first in over 60 years. Lastly, I would not stress if you are Israeli, as the first two reasons for the friendship are stronger then the 3rd. With all due respect, Israel is not always right. Defense of a country just because it is your country is called jingoism...an inherently dangerous and myopic view of the real world. Perhaps a cooler head and a less confrontational approach with the Palestinians regarding continued building on disputed lands would yield a better result. However, continuing to build on land that belongs to Palestinians, no matter what anyone else in the world thinks, is arrogant and self-destructive. I would hope that the true Israelis who want the be a part of the world community will realize that confrontation will only yield conflict.
