61. to #60 am at that time the Brits use to rank
ghostq   (03.18.10)
the mandat areas for A, B, C, after the WW1, A means states that get independense straight right after the war like chekoslovakia, B- people that will have 5 or 6 years but they will get independence like Israel India, and C-primitive people that not worthy wast their time and won't have state Like Arabs around Israel, you may protest that but that is what the Brits did. and let us not forget that Syria was established only in 1940, another point you forget that Lebanon was chritian mostly up until the franch mandat, the franch like the Brits divided and conquered you can see that even today they kill each other there. anyway there is no point to cry over spiled milk cause after that the Arab leadership went to be ally with Hitler, that is y all the Jews from Arab areas were banished and their property confiscated. again no use of cry about the wrong choises Arab took in the past.
62. Bethlehemite #60
Jason, Ph.D. ,   Charlotte, USA   (03.18.10)
Maybe, but the Jews began returning to the Land in organized manner in the 1890s. (They had tried to before, but up until the 1890s they did not really had the ability to do this in an organized manner. Look up how the Jewish town of Safed was ransacked by local Arabs in the 1600 hundreds.) So, Bethlehimite, why did the Arabs of Palestine wait until after the Jews began returning in an organized fashion before the Arabs decided that they wanted a Palestinian state? What were they doing during the hundreds of years under Ottoman control?
63. i got it the stronger wins
Islam ,   jordan amman   (03.18.10)
whatever Palestinian people do they will never get their land back they have to get stronger and fight because we're in a jungle and the stronger takes the place and as quran says sooner or later we'll take our land back so do whatever you do sooner or later we're coming back
64. Transfer, Martin?
Tomer ,   Hod Hasharon, Israel   (03.18.10)
I agree wholeheartedly with the first two parts of your proposal, but the third, bluntly, can politely be described as Transfer, and less politely as ethnic-cleansing-by-bribery. It ain't gonna fly. You would find that a large proportion of the population were not open to such bribery, and so you wouldn't really resolve the issue. Personally, I still hold out some hope for the two-state solution. I've yet to see any better, any more realistic options.
65. to #62 no before that
ghostq   (03.18.10)
only in 1890 there was massive but jews came to Israel even before that, The first was mainly from Romania and Yemen, but there is old Ashkenazis syngouge from the 17th century in Jerusalem, if you look further in the past during Saladin time he let the jews return back after the Brits slaughter them In Jerusalem. the thing is Brits r so proud of Richared the Lions heart they forget he was one of the mass murderers Anti semetic fool that in the end run back to the UK with his tail between his legs.
66. #46 - Great idea!
Jake ,   USA   (03.18.10)
Of course the Jews would never get that option (compensation for moving to Israel), but it would be fair & just. Israel is the Jewish homeland, and many Jews have more loyalty to Israel, than their host countries (especially now that many Western countries are showing their hatred towards the Jewish state). A solution that would include compensation for Jews returning home to Israel, and Arabs moving to one of their 22 states, would be a brilliant success.
67. #63 Islam. You cause so much pain by fostering this delusion
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.18.10)
#63 Islam. In 1948 the Arab League asked Arabs to please leave Israel temporarily while they massacred the Jews. Than, the Arab League promised them, they'd be able to come back and take all the Jewish property and murder Jews. We all know how that worked out. Today, people like yourself, continue to foster the delusion that "Palestinians" will eventually drive Jews from our Homeland. It will NEVER happen. However, you create enormous pain, because many "Palestinians" put their lives on hold waiting for an event that will never happen. You'd be doing "Palestinians" a big favour by urging them to get on with their lives outside of Israel.
68. ghostq - Also its Beit Lahaem in Arabic is
Charlie ,   Bethlehem ,Palestine   (03.18.10)
House of Meat . Regarding the Jews who lived there , some have left and some have stayed and turned christian . There where more Amorites and Cannanites than Jews back then . My family has been there for a few thousand years , so if some jews want to come back , then welcome if respectful but arrogant racist that want to rape through their return are not welcomed . Palestinians did not come from Arabia recently as most brainwashed Jews believe , they are the melting pot of thousands of years of transient (including Jews ) wonderers and conquerers . The Arab aspect of Palestine was amplified 1400 years ago . Thats a lot of history so stop Justifying ethnic cleansing to get back your biblical short period of glory .
69.  to Salma 57 I am awake you are sleeping
Ari ,   Romania   (03.18.10)
You said 100 years of the palestine History. And that is true the rest The rest is Palestinian Fantasy. I am not ignorant I know how to read, maybe you dont know how to write Jerusalem was founded by King David a Jewish KIng. 3000 years ago. And he was the King of Israel. There is noplave for Paletine History. You are confusing the Filisteans, which leave on the sother coast of Israel, but they as well as the Cananeans desapeared. The actual Palestinians come from Arabia, Your people are deceiving you and are rewriting history to screw the Jews. Yesterday in Gaza they were saying a Synagogue was bieng built on top of the temple mount. NObody is building there. Another lie to incite the people to thow stones. The word Palestine was applied to Israel 2000 years ago as punishment when they loose the war against the Romans. This is the Origine of Palestine. Palestine 2000 years ago same as Israel.ROMAN CHANGED THE NAME. If you dont read world History who is ignorant? I am not talking about Jewish History I am talking about WORLD HISTORY. Besides the actual palestinians come from the arabs, from the syrians. the Egiptians, etc. The Husseins from Jordan, the Husseins form Arabia,The Husseins form Irak, the Husseins from Palestine all the same. The came from the Hashemites. Arabs Jews who lived under the British mandate were also Palestinians. You want to deny the Jewsih History in the land? Then you are also deniying Cristian History because both are interwoben. Jesus was born a Jew and die as a Jew. What I said about 1800 I ment the Year 1800 when Jews returned to the Homeland. in 1840 Already Jerusalem has a Jewish mayority. Also in 1948 until Jordan invaded and divided the city for the first time in its History. And destroyed every thing Jewish. Jews could not go to pray to their Holy Sites. Today Muslims can pray in every Mosque of Jerusalem or Israel. While Israel let Arabs live in Israel, Palestinians wont allow any Jew to live there. You are really the racists.
70. #68 Charlie from "Palestine"
Jake ,   USA   (03.18.10)
"There where more Amorites and Cannanites than Jews back then " If there were Amorites, and Canaanites still around today, they would have a claim. Since there arent, our claim is the strongest. "The Arab aspect of Palestine was amplified 1400 years ago" Our history preceded your theft of Jewish land. "Thats a lot of history so stop Justifying ethnic cleansing to get back your biblical short period of glory ." 800 years is no short period. Most empires don't last half as long. Bottom line Charlie: Arabs never said one word about a Palestinian state during the 19 years of Jordanian & Egyptian occupation. "Palestine" is a name given to the land of Israel by the Romans, in an attempt to eliminate Jewish nationalism - today "Palestine" represents the same cause - nothing more.
71. A more just solution
Frank ,   New York   (03.18.10)
besides forcing all Arabs out of Palestine is to force all Jews out of every country in the world and onto Israel. Then we'll have true justice.
72. 70 Jake I am not denying Jewish history But you want to deny
Charlie ,   Bethlehem ,Palestine   (03.18.10)
mine . I can trace with detail my family tree for the past 1100 years , my father , grand father etc where born in our family home built 420 years ago . Its still standing . Jake how can an Empire 2000 years ago negate my history and my belonging . If you feel a special feel for the land because of its history then do not recreate it once again at the expense of its present day authentic residence . Politely ask to share .Do not get into a history competition.
73. #72 Charlie - In response to your question...
Jake ,   USA   (03.18.10)
"Jake how can an Empire 2000 years ago negate my history and my belonging ." I was wondering the same thing. Like I just explained, the land of Israel was renamed Palestine by "an Empire 2000 years ago", negating our history & belonging. The Jewish nation may have been exiled for 2000 years, but we never ceded our rights to that land. 3 times a day Jews pray for the return to Zion, and the rebuilding of Jerusalem. Finally, in 1948, we liberated half of our land, and the rest in 1967. No one is trying to erase your personal history in the land, but your political history is a fraud. Palestine has always been the name of a region/province, and today you claim it is a nation - that is a fraudulent claim. "Politely ask to share .Do not get into a history competition. " Israel does share the land. If they wanted to expel the Arabs they would have done it by now. But they have no moral obligation to cede territory to a brutal enemy that denies our rights to the land. In fact, for the sake of peace, I would say Israel has a moral obligation not to cede territory.
74. To #71
Nahum Korda ,   Ein Ziwan, Israel   (03.18.10)
This actually happened several times throughout the history: Babylonian exile, Roman diaspora, Spanish exile, Holocaust... This is why the modern State of Israel IS a necessity.
75. Indeed, it is rethinking
khalil ghandour ,   jordan   (03.19.10)
The honorabe author has made up his mind. Palestinians? who are they? There are arabs and moslems....... Is this not indeed the Bengorion language on the net? The author is inviting the palestinans for a quantom leap. Have they not suffered enough since 1948? The author is advocating the completion of the 1948 war in the year 2010. This is pethetic to say the least and not rethinking.
76. #60, well strictly speaking...
Danny   (03.21.10)
They demanded independence for Syria of which "Palestine" was the Southern bit.... Weird that bit seems to have dropped off the cut and paste versions of history out there.
77. #64, so you prefer the "solution"
Danny   (03.21.10)
which has repeated failed and resulted in Israeli deaths - and also Palestinian ones - over the one that hasn't failed? I also suspect that this plan is a non-starter but mainly because the Arab countries, the UN, Iran, Hizbollah, the PLO and Hamas and the general anti-Israeli mob have zero interest in solving this issue and a direct financial interest in perpetuating it
78. #12, actually they are the only "refugees"
Danny   (03.21.10)
in the world whose descendents get to keep that refugee status. Care to name another group of people for whom that status is hereditary?
79. Mr.
Joseph Rothschild ,   Johannesburg S.A.   (01.07.17)
Most Jews have been either forced or (to put it lightly) encouraged to leave Arab lands!!
