1. Israelis are always welcome in Turkey
Sinan ,   Istanbul, Turkey   (03.18.10)
Government and people are two different entities. And, like in Israel or in the U.S., there are a lot of people in Turkey who don't agree with everything the government is doing. I wish we had a head of the state who didn't analyze Israel's situation in the "moderate Muslim" paradigm. If Turks have been thru what Israelis had, I'm sure it'd follow a similar course of action towards its enemies. That said, Israelis are always welcome!
2. Sinan #1, nice thought but no really true!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (03.18.10)
We are not blind or deaf here in Israel and we have all seen the hatred and anti-Israel and anti-Semitic demonstrations by the suppporters of you Prime Minister. Turkey has chosen to ally itself with Iran and Syria and thus we cannot view your country as a friend and longer. Your Government was elected by the people knowing we well that it would eventually turn of Israel. We have freedom of choice and if Israelis are so stupid to visit Turkey they must not cry and expect our Government to help them when terrorism strikes Jews and Israelis in Turkey. I think that the lack of national pride in this country is appalling and I can only hope that one of these days El Al will stop flying to Turkey and Turkish Airlines will lose its landing rights here. Israelis who want to go to Turkey can fly to Cyprus and the to Antalyia!
3. Travel Pessah Turkey
LONA ,   Lonale   (03.18.10)
sorry but it is absolutely disgusting for the Israeli to travel to Turkey, during any jewish holiday. The turkish were not very political correct lately to put it lightly. People don't you have any pride? they hate you!!! so disappointed for the israelis. not understand.
4. As long as Israelis worship the god of mammon
m   (03.18.10)
A buck is a buck
5. Sina from Istanbul
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (03.18.10)
Thank you very much for your hospitality. Turkey needs more people like you to return Turkey to the modernist secular path of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. I hear that it is getting warmer in Istanbul and spring is in the air. It is time for a nice table of Raki with Lufer at Sariyer or Beykoz overlooking the dolphins jumping in Bogaz. Iyi gunler dostum.
6. #2 David
Sinan ,   Istanbul, Turkey   (03.19.10)
Turkish government saved a lot of Jews from the Holocaust while Greece was handing them to Nazis... As for Cyprus; read about the British internment camps of 40s in Cyprus for Jews who were trying to make Aliyah.. Of course there have been and still are unfortunate anti-Semitic events in Turkey.. It's a sick thing that keeps reinventing itself all over the world.. But, believe me, if you go to an average person in Turkey and say "I'm a Jew and an Israeli"; they would totally give you the "So what?" look or at most an uneducated person would ask "Why are you bombing Palestinians ?", the same way a dumb Westerner would ask "Now tell me, why are you killing Kurds ?" And, don't worry; the money you spend in Turkey will be indirectly reimbursed to the Israeli gov't when Turkish army buys weapons from Israeli defense contractors ;)
7. #5
Sinan ,   Istanbul, Turkey   (03.19.10)
Haha yes :) I'm sure Turkish tourists are also not going to enjoy their dinner less, in the Village just because the Armenian Genocide resolution is in the agenda recently..
8. #6, That's not true
Jake   (03.19.10)
I cannot imagine what propaganda they are teaching in schools in Turkey. Turkish government was not saving Jews during WW2. Remember the tragedy of the Struma, the Jewish refugee boat which sank because Turkey would not even allow it to dock in Turkish harbors. Greece did not have a government during WW2; it was invaded and occupied. Turkey, on the other hand, was fully sovereign, and yet they made many favors to the Germans. Go and learn history.
9. I'm flying Turkish from Johannesburg
Shaun ,   Johannesburg   (03.19.10)
Johannesburg, Istambul, to Jerusalem. all this for Passover. If Elal had better rates to South Africa, maybe i would fly ElAl, right now i cant afford to fly ElAl Chag Samech

12. turkey
frank ,   Israel   (03.19.10)
it doesn't matter what the world thinks or does, israelis just go and do. They don't consider the host country hates us, wants us dead and sides with other enemies of ours who also want us dead. All they care about is getting a bargain...actually pretty disgusting. we are our own worst enemy...we will sell out to anyone who offers us something less expensive.....no backbone, no long term planning or thinking, it is all about "me" . This is what we teach our children? Well not all of us of couse, but the vast majority. But then again with teachers like our government, courts etc, this is how we learn and this is what we do....we are learning from corrupt entities who chase the $ for personal gain. So it is no wonder we are now raising a new generation of citizens who will do exactly that.....shame really....
13. The only thing worse than going to Turkey in Passover, is...
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (03.19.10)
Going to Sinai in Passover. That is, making the way back to where we came from, now occupied by hostile people that hate us and support our enemies, and doing the Seder there... That is, celebrating in hostile Egypt, how we escaped from hostile Egypt to come to Israel. Is that screwed up or what?
14. A buck is a buck right?, right !
joe   (03.20.10)
Boycott Turkey ?; are you crazy ? As david from Karmiel # 2 writes " the lack of national pride in this country is appalling ". Money is too important, to Hell with pride. ---- " it's all about ME," is correct Frank # 12. Egyptians hate us, their Govt hate us, their clerics hate us ; their koran hate us and, like well behaved christians, we turn the other cheek !
15. Giving money to turkey is chilul Hashem, the poor of Israel
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (03.21.10)

16. Jews are you for real???
