In September 1955 they spread (The DP Government under the leadership of Adnan Menderes) the rumor that someone in Salonika Greece had bombed Ataturk's birth home. Immediately following this riots started in Istanbul and Izmir attacking all stores Greek and Jewish. I have no doubt that the AKP and Erdogan are behind these demonstrations too
