1. and the parents? Not going?
josh   (03.20.10)
the parents here are using their children , the case is that the parents and the children are facing deportation - the children are not going without their parents. They are not asylum seekers fleeing real danger in the home countries but illegals who overstayed illegally. You need a visa to visit the Philipines just as you do Israel, and a work permit if you are foreign and want to stay, you break the law you get thrown out. It is almost impossible to get Israeli citizenship and if it should be offered, first would be those asylum seekers fleeing death and destruction. There are thousands of kids worldwide who move from one country to another and do well. This is more about the parents. As the grandparents.
2. Deportation
A Person ,   Israel   (03.20.10)
Conversion to Judaism or Deportation. Olim break their backs even under the Law of Return in order to secure citizenship status and be able to live in Israel. These foreign workers waltz in here, have babies hoping that this will allow them to stay when their Visas have expired. You know what? If they want to stay, then fine, but convert. There is no "Law of Return" for these people nor any promises of citizenship. We need to take care of our own first before we start worrying about everyone else.
3. the children are red herring the issue is the parents
zionist forever   (03.20.10)
This has nothing to do with 1200 children its to stop illegals hiding behind children so they can get themselves Israeli passports. Children are not objects you can just send out the country alone you have to also deport the parents or if you are going to let the children stay you need to let the parents stay. If we let this batch of kids stay its going to set a political & legal precident in the courts so any illegal with a child can stay because we will not deport the children of foreigners if they were born in Israel. Let them stay fist thing thats going to happen is people who enter the country illegally or people who intend to overstay their visa will have a child to give them a shield against deportation. No need to run from the authorities to avoid deportation, now they just go to them and say I am here illegally but I have a child born in Israel so I demand you give me full Israeli citizenship. Israel will become the global capital for economic migrants. We should just put up a sign saying if you can get into the country if you have a child here your welcome to stay. In time their numbers will grow and we will soon find ourselves in a position where economic migrants who have had children so they can stay form a very substantial percentage of the populaton. We need a policy of no nonsense .. if your illegal we deport you and all your children straight away. We also need the government to right now start a major program of tracking down & deporting illegals. Mainly as a result of the Holocaust Israel has a hang up about deporting people even illegals. Accept REAL refugees in fear of their lives but if somebody comes to Israel because its a better quality of life then we should not feel any guilt about getting rid of them.
4. foreign workers

If not wanting foreign workers then that's fine, all that has to be done is to shut the door and say no more foreign workers. Life is easy. However some people are wanting the best of both worlds, and want to have all the benefits with none of the responsibilities. This is what makes it difficult.
5. migrant workers
Moshe ,   T/A Israel   (03.21.10)
What a silly mess we always find ourselves in,what nonsense we have to swallow. The parents are illegal and have been for years, they are using their kids as shields and anchors to stay here. The parents signed contracts - they knew their obligations - they know that at the end of their contracts they MUST return to their land of origin. Walk through any street today in T/A and see the migrant workers and their kids and the next group as well, pregnant and getting ready to jump on the back of this lot with their demands. With the govt of BB incapable of finding any solutions for anything it does not bode well for the future and it appears that all that you have to do is break the law, ignore your obligations try and get pregnant and voila you are an Israeli Moshe
6. Deport Eli Yiashai
Avi ,   Israel   (03.21.10)
if anyone needs to be deported its Eli Yishai the child catcher, splitting up famalies the man is a national discrase.
7. Children born in Israel
Brod ,   USA   (03.21.10)
Israel should show mercy and kindness to these children who were born in Israel. They will grow up loving Israel and be proud of their country of birth. Israel needs friends too. Why show to the world such intolerance? It is time to use wisdom on this matter. The GOD of Israel is also known as Lovingkindness and Tender Mercies. Psalm 25:6.
8. 6 & 7
zionist forever   (03.21.10)
If this was just about 1200 children its about their parents. Children come with families and if we allow the child to stay we must let the adults stay. If we let this batch stay it will create a political & legal precedents to stop the government deporting anybody who has had a child here. We will find ourselves in a situation where any illegal who has had a child in Israel has the legal right to refuse deportation. Word will spread this is the policy & worldwide anybody who wants to live in Israel just has to get into the country & have a child and then they can stay without fear of deportation.

I understand your concern. However, there are ways to deal with them. Not anybody can travel to Israel and stay there unless Israel needs or allows them. And not many will be eager to settle there due to the challenges it faces. But for those born there, know the language and the GOD of Israel, they are going to be loyal citizens of Israel and will fight, defend and protect Israel against its enemies.
