1. Go! Interior Minister Eli Yishai Go!
SarahSue ,   USA   (03.22.10)
The opinion of the worst president, the worse vice-president and the worse secretary of state American has ever had should not impact the decisions that Israel makes regarding its capitol, Jerusalem. Their opinions do not reflect the views of the majority of Americans or Congress. We support you, Israel.

us to concentrate our building in S'derot and Askalon? Why the fuss? Can't the Israelis stand up for themselves??
11. More criminal action from Shas
Avi ,   Israel   (03.22.10)
Once again the country is held to ransom for the the selfish ultra orthdox who put their real estate needs before those of the nation. Still in the end of the day East Jerusalem will become the capital of Palestine and this so called new housing developement will be handed over to the Palestinians. So all you whingers and whiners out there can whine all you like the world has condemmed this illegal action which goes against International law. The day is coming closer when East Jerusalem will be handed back to its rightfull owners.
12. Pure self-deception, EJerusalem annexation never recognized

15. #11 Avi
Ilan ,   Rehovot, Israel   (03.22.10)
'illegal action' it's a pity that someone living in Israel only sees building in east Jerusalem as illegal. What about all the arab invoked actions that are also considered illegal by international law? I never see you writing to condem Arab actions against Israel.
16. International law is clear: "Israeli settlements are illegal
Salma ,   Palestine   (03.22.10)
Today You build , and then destroyed tomorrow .......... briefly what happened in the Sinai and Gaza will happen in Jerusalem and the Palestinian West Bank ............. you waste money and time ...... ..... This is the biggest and actual corruption you have .....In fact you do not fool America or the Palestinians, but yourselves
17. to salma palastine
susu   (03.22.10)
it is not international or law it is not legal or illegal simply it is to build or to destroy .. as it is by force it is so easy to destroy than to build .. wait and see ...
18. greed will be Israel demise
(03.22.10)
19. 16 - dream on
(03.22.10)
In 1967 during the Six-Day War, the eastern part of Jerusalem came under Israeli rule and has been part of Israel ever since. You had your chance back then to live side by side - you decided to take the path of self desctruction - and you still haven't won.
20. You want to talk about international law?
Talula ,   Israel   (03.22.10)
Or do you just want to talk about it when it serves your own needs? What about the continual rocket fire into Israel from the south? That's a violation of international law. Kidnapping a soldier and keeping him hostage for 1366 without giving the Red Cross access is also a violation of international law. Suicide bombers blowing up children on a school bus is not only a violation of international law – it is beyond sick and evil. Don’t make yourselves out to be the innocent persecuted parties – you have carried out vile, abhorrent acts against this country – ALL AGAINST INTERNATIONAL LAW. Why do you think that’s OK?
21. Avi I don't get it
ghostq   (03.22.10)
you don't like religious jews who doesn't pay taxes, but you like arabs who doesn't pay taxes. very weird indeed. another point nachlat simion was jewish neghbourhood(since1891) on east jerusalem up until 1948, now arabs live in them. mmm sound like you have half the truth.
22. to #16 Hebron isn't setelment.
ghostq   (03.22.10)
and silwan original name is Shiloach, you arabs can pronounce it so you called it silwan, shiloach was water tunnle who carved by jews to let the old city water suply, the scriptur written in ancient Hebrew, another jewish name is Beit lechem aka hous of bread, the name Jericho belong to Yerach means month every month new crop you see jewish biblical names to places show that those places r originaly jewish and since they never gave on those lands willingly but conquered they right thing to do is to give them back. ancient synagouge still exist in Jericho.
23. PAl,produce your historical ancestral claim to Jerusalem?
tony ,   abuja, nigeria   (03.22.10)
The Palistinians has not produced any convincing historical ancestral claims to Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria like the Israelites or is there any? It's only bunch of lies. Obama backing the Palistinans to tell lies. Likewise the EU. What an irony. Historically in the BC's (Before Christ) when the Babylonians invaded Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria (about 3,500 years ago) and before the AD, when the Romans also invaded Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria many many years back, which of the tribes inhabiting the land did they invade? The Palistinians or the Israelites? The Israelites have historical ancestral kings that reigned in Jerusalem Judea - Kings David, Solomon, Abijam, Asa, and many others in Jerusalem Judea, and in Samaria - Kings Jeroboam, Baasha, Nadal and many others many years more than 3,000 years ago and many of their works are being confirmed by Archaeological discoveries in these present lands as proves of their inhabiting/existence in the land. Has the Palistinians any to show to the world?
24. TAU is built on SHeik Munis
Yoni ,   Tel Aviv   (03.22.10)
25. #20 Talula
Jacob ,   Ashkelon   (03.22.10)
You said... "Don’t make yourselves out to be the innocent persecuted parties – you have carried out vile, abhorrent acts against this country – ALL AGAINST INTERNATIONAL LAW. Why do you think that’s OK?" It is never OK. Talula nobody is saying that one side is totally innocent and hasn't broken international law. The examples you give in your post are crimes which contravene international law, there is no question otherwise. I suppose the question is are you also willing to accept that Israel has also broken international law? Do you recognize that the IDF have committed war crimes? One example would be when the IDF got that 9 year old Palestinian kid to open bags thought to contain bobbytrap bombs, or using other Palestinians as human shields. It never ceases to amaze me how many of us will refuse to acknowledge that we are also guilt of the crimes that we accuse the Palestinians of. Elevating ourselves to a morality that clearly we do not meet is in itself immoral.
26. jerusalem
Patricia Sheneman ,   Cathedral City, USA   (03.22.10)
Don't let Obama intimate you, Bibi! Many Americans love the land of Israel and the Jewish people! Defend the land! Don't let them chop up Jerusalem!
27. Avi needs an education about Israel - he's a dumbass
Israel   (03.22.10)
28. Talula #16 only sees one side
(03.22.10)
29. :: Could have been - should have been
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (03.22.10)
Israel could have been a modern democratic state but instead it is becoming a racist nation with Apartheid laws which would embarrass any Western democratic nation. “I, as an ultra-Orthodox Jew, don't think that religious Jews should have to live in the same neighborhood as secular couples, so as to avoid unnecessary friction,” Israel’s Housing Minister Ariel Atias – Shas Party There you have it folks a government minister calling for Apartheid between religious and secular citizens in the same country. If a British government Housing Minister called for measure they would be sacked and Britain would be the laughing stock of global news media. Yet in Israel this is the norm, such racism is encouraged and supported by the Israeli Gov.
30. #25 Yes, Jacob, to some extent we are guilty
Talula ,   Israel   (03.22.10)
We are not a perfect nation. However, if a bomb was indeed in that bag that the 9 year old opened, it wasn't put in there by Israelis, that I can tell you for sure. Why should one of OUR soldier’s be killed? We cannot take the high moral ground because we do violate international law....occasionally, it just depends what side of the fence you are on. The question that needs to be asked here is why circumstances push us to behave that way. Don't forget we are up against a nation who have no morals, no scruples and do not respect the sanctity of human life. Rules have to be bent and changed when dealing with people who have no boundaries.
