Salma ,   Palestine   (03.23.10)
Neither Jerusalem is the capital of "Israel" nor "Israel" is the capital of Jerusalem...... .. Jerusalem is the permanent capital of Palestine.. International law didn't affirm that Jerusalem is a capital of "Israel"..We are not forsaking our national aspirations for Jerusalem.... We need to start taking care of ourselves, of our interests Is this concept ?!!!!!!!!!!!
5. Abraham was born in --> Ur, Babylonia, GET over it -->
Canaan   (03.23.10)
6. Israel only for Israelis
Lloyds ,   India   (03.23.10)
It is a G-d Given land to Israeli people. Right from Abraham, Isaac, Jacab,Joshua, David, Soloman,...etc reigned & lived there . If this didn't make this land into Israeli, then 2000 years is nothing to do with it.
7. #1
Ram ,   London   (03.23.10)
I am afraid your wishes will remain just that. Instead of facing reality and making do with your 22+ arab states you can carry on to live on denial if that is what gives you satisfaction. It is difficult to fault Netanyahu when he does all he can to humbly explain Israel's position. Yes he can behave with arrogance and probably get away with it like most muslim leaders do but by being elegant it does not mean he is being soft. This visit of Netanyahu to the US shows that Israel is making a huge effort to bring the PA to the negotiating table. If all Israel's efforts fail at least it shows they have tried and failed whereas the PA as usual would have contributed nothing to peacemaking unless they change stance. Sadly, without the willingness of the PA to see reason, that Israel is there to stay and will not go away, and negotiate some form of compromise, the alternative will be more wars that will get uglier and more brutal.
8. #4
JAy3 ,   Israel   (03.23.10)
You must be talking about the original Jewish Palestine that the british mandated for the yehudi! Salma, go ask your father why he used to call himself Southern Syrian and not "Palestinian" before 67!
9. To # 4
Lioness ,   Israel   (03.23.10)
G-d reigns supreme and He gave Jerusalem to the Jewish people over 3000 years ago to be our undivided capital of Israel. Time you and everyone who opposes the Law of Hashem take yourselves off to the other 22 plus Arab states or even cross over to Jordan which really does occupy 78% of mandate land with a Palestinian population of 77% of its people. Jordan IS Palestine.
10. #5 - We're not interested ...
Janice Cohen ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.23.10)
in where Abraham was born - GET IT ???
11. #4 your culture is based on dreams (lies)
Dan ,   USA   (03.23.10)
obviously, if you repeat them countless times you will start believing the unbielivable. You have always done that and will continue to do so. Even Abraham severed his relationship with Ismael. No wonder you that way...
12. 22 dictatorial states and Hamastan/Fatahstan.
Frank ,   USA   (03.23.10)
Yet. they still want what the Jews have.
13. To Salma
Yossef ,   Rehovot, Israel   (03.23.10)
Well, Salma it is good enough that you talk to us. It means something even if you are angry against me, even if I disagree with you. Let us continue talking, better than fighting.  שלום
14. Great Speech!!
Christy ,   Boston, US   (03.23.10)
Repeat it LOUD and OFTEN: Jerusalem is NEVER going to be anything other than Israel's Capitol. Jerusalem is OFF any negotiating table. It belongs to the Jews by G-d's Law, and man's law. The majority of US Citizens are behind Israel retaining the whole of Jerusalem as their nation's capitol. Anyone doesn't like it, can go pound sand!!
15. WHY FIGHT?
TO ALL ,   WORLD   (03.23.10)
LET US SHARE JERUSALEM AND MAKE IT UNIVERSAL INSTEAD OF FIGHTING.. .
16. Bibi has told the world his, tell the world yours PAL
tony ,   abuja-nigeria   (03.23.10)
The Palistinians has not produced any convincing historical ancestral claims to Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria like the Israelites or is there any? It's only bunch of lies. Obama backing the Palistinans to tell lies, thus disgracing America. Likewise the EU. What an irony. Historically in the BC's (Before Christ) when the Babylonians invaded Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria (about 3,500 years ago) and before the AD, when the Romans also invaded Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria many many years back, which of the tribes inhabiting the land did they invade? The Palistinians or the Israelites? The Israelites have historical ancestral kings that reigned in Jerusalem Judea - Kings David, Solomon, Abijam, Asa, and many others in Jerusalem Judea, and in Samaria - Kings Jeroboam, Baasha, Nadal and many others many years more than 3,000 years ago and many of their works are being confirmed by Archaeological discoveries in these present lands as proves of their inhabiting/existence in the land. Has the Palistinians any prove to show to the world?
17. #4 wrong
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (03.23.10)
Actually, International Law is very clear and you are not going to like it. The whole of the Mandate including Jerusalem was given to the British temporarily and is designated to be a Jewish homeland with preservation of the rights of the people who lived there at the time. That means that Israel must receive full sovereignty over these areas. The Arabs who immigrated under the British rule as well as the free-loaders who joined the UN "refugee camps" (most of the so-called Palestinians) must be repatriated to Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria. If you have complaints, should should go to the British. But sadly, the criminal deeds of the British and their Arab allies gain more support than does International Law.
18. hope this post won't get filtered
ghostq   (03.23.10)
I get to over react and yelled at nothing, I can 't never get use to it bunch of... I think in jerusalem I srael give the most respect to all religions, no need to make them stop building apartments on empty lots, and since the jewish history goes thousands of years than it's their right, including mount zion on east jerusalem, since some lands in the old city belong to the church Israel give the most freedom of religion, how ever I can not say the same on the palestinian, since most of the chritians run away from there, and palis convience sameratons they r palis and not sameratons which is not the same sameratons came from Sameria aka Judah and Sameria, but Palis convience them other wise.
19. #9 the problem is some r not from Jorden
ghostq   (03.23.10)
some from Turkey and from Egypt, Arafat was Egyptian, the tamimi family actualy from Saudi Arabia since that is very common family name there, Arabs miggrated from those countries I actualy talked to pali who claim his root r from Israel the only problem was his famili naame is darwish, darwish r Turks and have very special islamic stream in north Turkey, so you see it's not just Jordan it's also other arab countries.
20. The rightful owners
Robert ,   Brisbane, Australia   (03.23.10)
Jews only relatively recently have resided in what is now known as Israel. 3 or 4 thousand years are but a microsecond in terms of the history of the planet. The first recorded beings in history in what is now known as Israel are neanderthals and cro-magnons. Around 40,000 years ago the place was inhabited by black Africans that emigrated from the Sahara area. It is quite understandable that Israelis lodge a claim to the whole area but they have no more a legitimate claim than Arab nomads who had been travelling the area for millenia. To claim that God gave the land to the Jews is totally absurd as it is a claim that can neither be proven or disproven. The claim is about as legitimate as me erecting a fence around a chunk of Australia and claiming that God gave it to me in my dreams.
21. EAST JERUSALEM is a PALESTINE
ezra ,   london   (03.23.10)
doesnt matter how many times bigot bibi claims its not
22. to #21 the real name of silwan is Shiloch
ghostq   (03.23.10)
shiloch scripture is located in Museum and it's written in ancient hebrew. go look it up, basically Arabs can't pronounce certain names of places they conquered so they changed them, like Panias(Greek) Banias, and so on, you can't argue with facts, Akko BTW wasn't never arabs prior to the croosaderes, it was Phonetian city, the phonitians were related to Jews, according to the glyphes they found in ancient akko only 4 letters were written from the ancient Hebrew glyph at that time. interesting archyology back jews I srael story but no Muslims arabs prior to 1300 years, wonderously that was the time arabs came from the east to conquer Israel from Chritians.
23. we have to share land and to live in peace
where ,   where   (03.23.10)
i think we have to share the land to achieve peace
24. Talk+economic prosperity = longer truce
Sam ,   Canada   (03.23.10)
Netanyahu realizes there is deadlock on the core issues. What he can do is try and extend the truce with talk and quiet that leads to economic prosperity. Jews aren't about to give the Kotel to Palestinians or commit suicide with a Palestinian right of return. There is no peace that doesn't leave a Jewish state which Palestinians reject. So, talk of Jerusalem is really a secondary issue. The Palestinians are not saying that giving them East Jerusalem means acceptance of the Jewish state. That's just the fantasy of the US and liberal Jews.
25. There's no fool like a "one world" fool
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (03.23.10)
"Why fight", asks #15. "LET US SHARE JERUSALEM AND MAKE IT UNIVERSAL INSTEAD OF FIGHTING.." "We are the world" is a soft drink jingle, the mantra of fools claiming to be "citizens of the world". You want to "share Jerusalem"? Tell us, what other cities and countries do you want to share or internationalize? It is significant that Jerusalem is accessible to people of all races and creeds ONLY under Israeli sovereignty since 1967! The ignorant may not know that Jerusalem has had a Jewish majority for at least 150 years. Those that know and ignore that fact are only showing their bigotry.
26. The enemy will not dictate where we can and cannot be
Yair ,   Israel   (03.23.10)
That'd be absurd. We don't need a special reason to justify being there. Even if we give them the land they ask for now, there is no doubt as to what will happen next- the same thing that happened in the Disengagement. The same thing that happened after we withdrew from Lebanon. There is something deeply wrong with them, and if we give them what they demand, they will invent new grievances, "react" to them with terrorism, and the world will swallow their lies whole. There is no compromise to be had here.
