Jack ,   LA, USA   (03.23.10)
No one is thrown out of emergency room in the US. Either Orly does not know what he is talking about, or he is a profound lair and has an agenda. Either way this article is a piece of garbage.
2. NO HE CANT !!!.
Arn. ,   SWEDEN.   (03.23.10)
HE WILL YOGHETER WITH EU, GO DOWN IN HISTORY, AS ONE OF THE GREATEST FRIENDLY ENEMY, TO JEHOVAHs LAND ISRAEL. Arn.

a viable state for the Palestinians ...independent infrastructure ,they have access to jordan ,egypt and they can have their own airport and sea port .. east Jerusalem is a red line ..
4. The Prince of Peace is coming!
Cameron ,   USA   (03.23.10)
He is about to discover the true limits of "dialogue".
5. Fawning stupidity
Ozraeli ,   Australia   (03.23.10)
Without even going into the actual underlying distorted facts, context, Obama's abuse of the US political system, & its inevitable impact on the enormous US debt, I feel it necessary to correct some of Ms. Azoulay's superficial, fawning, gleeful contentions. 1. US patients, no matter how poor, are not "...thrown out of the emergency room..." because of lack of medical insurance. It is US law that people coming to emergency rooms must be treated, regardless of status, which is why millions of illegal immigrants & other uninsured show up there, effectively being subsidised by US taxpayers; 2. There is not a single place on Earth where it is NOT the case that "...some people are occupiers and some people are occupied...", in various different forms. The entire story of human history is of movement, occupation, subjugation, development, & regeneration, & further movement. "Human Dignity" is a nice concept that has little to do with biological or geopolitical reality, & even then is is only selectively implemented. The idea that borders are immutable, every little tribe deserves their own perfect little Garden of Eden, & that somehow, every State parachuted into existence fully inhabited, fully formed (or deserves existence) is ridiculous; As for the rest of her contentions, I won't waste time on them. Her articles are second only to Sima Kadmon's in shallowness & vacuousness.
6. No he won't !!!
Don Rosenberg ,   Palatine USA   (03.23.10)
obamass is the most incompetent president in our history. He will bankrupt this country in order to redistribute wealth to the blacks ,period. I hope Bibi tells him to mind is own business and concentrate on his muslim bro's. For all of us Americans conservative I say "Impreach this Fake".
7. #5 on point two
Mark ,   Israel   (03.23.10)
On point 2 what about Thailand, that was never fully occupied by any army or people or country...?
8. Obama
Eugene Graczyk ,   Sausalito, CA USA   (03.23.10)
It is important for Israelis to understand that attacking Obama does not necessarily endear them to the tens of millions of Americans who voted for him and strongly support him. He has indeed demonstrated a strength of spirit and leadership in the nealthcare battle. We are a deeply divided people, true, but use good judgment in choosing your approach to this man and AMerica as your ally. Using vile language against him, calling the British "dogs" and the like bring you no honor as a people.
9. b.o. is a little Chicago street thug
jason white ,   afula,israel   (03.23.10)
that used threats and bribery to pass a law that most Americans are against. The dems will pay for this political suicide next Nov. This was a victory for the Republicans and the Independants. b.o. and his gang will be unemployed in Jan,2013. You do not put your Presidency before the will of the people. If b.o. thinks he can destroy us with his jihad, then he better think again.
10. Yes He Will!
Yes He Will ,   Washington DC   (03.23.10)
As an American Jew who fully supports the president, I have no doubt he'll successfully put the screws to Bibi. And those who think he's not getting reelected are nuts. The US has needed someone of his caliber for a longtime, and considering the motley crew in Bibi's government (Lieberman, religious fantatics who want gender-segregated bus lines), Israel would be lucky to have someone sane like Obama as well.
11. To # 10 Yes he can
Ricardo Macher ,   Karnei Shomron IL   (03.23.10)
Dear Yes He Can, There is a slight difference between you and me, I am a Jew, a Jew who happens to live i n Israel. You are an ยท"American Jew"! Does "Germans of mosaic faith" remind you of anything? They also thought that they were first nationals of the country were they lived, do you remember what happened to them? Try please to decide what you are! I'm a proud Jewish Israeli, what are you?
12. #10
Eyal ,   USA   (03.23.10)
Then I guess you are also a leftist activists who is in support of the Palestinians too.... right? Give it all back, that's your moto... That's what I thought. It is Jews like you that will erase any Jewish in the world. You irritate me more than Salma and Nour.
13. Healthcare revolution?
Jake ,   USA   (03.23.10)
I wouldn't call it a revolution. It was more like an imposed overhaul, shoved down America's throat. Yes he can shove things down America's throat, because he is the President of America. But no he cannot shove a peace accord down Israel's throat because Israel is a sovereign nation.
14. No he won't
Steve Zeluck ,   San Francisco   (03.23.10)
He will succeed in some of his domestic agenda and I hope he in fact does. I'm quite pleased about the health care bill's passage, and cap and trade and immigration reform are also long overdue, as well as the financial regulatory overhaul. But when it comes to the foreign agenda, that involves coercing or intimidating other countries, and no self-respecting country will allow that, including Israel. For the record, I am adamantly opposed to his agenda vis a vis Israel and the Arabs. Obama is obviously sympathetic to the Arabs and hostile to the Jews, an attitude that he has held for most of his life.

Thailand was occupied by Japan. The Thais immigrated south from nearby China escaping from the expanding Chinese empire centuries ago and displaced the "Bak" Thais who now live in south Thailand
16. #15
Mark ,   Israel   (03.23.10)
That was only because Thailand had allied themselves with Japan during the second WW.....not the same thing.
17. Orly is unfortunately right
yehoshua ,   usa   (03.23.10)
Barak Hussains Obama has been enboldened by his health care victory. There is no question in my mind that he will put the screws to Israel. This is a sad day. As can be seen he really does not care what to the people think and I really don't think he cares if he gets reelected. This is bad for the chosen people
18. Obama made a mess
Serge ,   Antwerp, Belgium   (03.23.10)
Since Obama became US president he pushed Mahmoud Abbas to make unreasonable demands, and now he has no choice to do the same. Instead of peace, Obama will bring more war !
19. Utter nonsense!
flyingdoc57 ,   Florida, U.S.A.   (03.24.10)
With a massive Democratic majority in Congress, as well as back-room deals, bribes and threats, Obama was barely able to muster up the 51% of votes required to shove the health care bill through via a special (i.e. reconciliation) process. To imply that, because of this abominable travesty of the legislative process, Obama is somehow a greater force to be reckoned with, and deserving of more respect than before, is really sick. All that Obama has shown us is that which most of us already knew...that he is lying sack of sh_t who cares nothing about this Country or the will of its citizens....typical MUSLIM!
20. He most definitely can and will!
Yes He Will ,   Washington DC   (03.24.10)
Ricardo, I speak fluent Hebrew (and probably speak better Hebrew and with a better accent than your settler buddies in Karnei Shomron) and would have no problem living in Israel -- I have lots of friends there, my son loves the Festigal, and we're as Jewish as you are. I'm also American. And to Eyal, yes I'm a left-winger on Israel but I don't especially think the Palestinians are so wonderful. I'm a left-winger because a Jewish state run by people like Lieberman and the Charedim isn't worth having -- it would be like having a Jewish Saudi Arabia and what's so wonderful about that? Only by ending the occupation, kicking out the settlers, and letting the Palestinians ruin their own lives will Israel be able to survive and thrive as a Jewish and democratic state. Israel acts like it can kick around the US. But with Obama and, more importantly, with apparent current views in our military, Israel's not going to get away with the usual tricks much longer -- tricks that true friends don't pull, by the way. I see another announcement of settler apartments in Sheikh Jarrah, just as Obama's meeting Bibi. Should be an interesting meeting.
21. "enjoy the perks of upscale and highly developed healthcare"
Le' Faux Jew ,   US   (03.24.10)
LOL...where is this authors head at? Is he that naive to think that Chicago thug politicians are really going to give for free the same healthcare plan he and the congress have? LOL! Sure the middle serfs and the faux' poor (not really poor people they are benefit dependant..big difference), can get the same plan, but they will have to pay alot more for it. All in all this is a disasterous affair for the progressive socialism of the gentile world that many Jews have tried to be emulate, in that most people simply dont trust the heavily corrupt government politicians, and its affect on Jewish captialist society of the founders. Thats why 14 states so far are going to overturn this perversion of the "commerce clause" and excesssive taxation (remember forced by the US government on working families) that will be imposed upon the working slugs like me.
22. "We pretend to work, and they pretend to pay us"
Le' Faux Jew ,   US   (03.24.10)
23. Yes he can
Art Schwartz ,   IRVINE, CA.   (03.24.10)
Only with payoffs, bribes, and entitlements., did he get the bill passed. Which of these with he offer Bibi? The man is a Chicago thug, No more no less. Let him go straight to hell!
24. I have question for our American guests
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (03.24.10)
By what authority is this 'reform' being done? I mean that it is not mentioned in the US Constitution. If I read that document correctly then the states have the authority to regulate health care and not the federal government. If that is the case then the entire system is illegal under American law is it not?
25. 7. 15. 24; Occupation & the US Constitution
Ozraeli ,   Australia   (03.24.10)
1. I referred to the general concept of nomadism, conquest, & occupation from prehistoric times, not to specific modern political entities. Generally, the Post Modern, Politically Correct, Post WW II assertions of "inalienable rights of indigenous peoples" is ridiculous. I am not advocating pillage, rape, conquest, massacre, & eradication. I am personally fascinated by the knowledge & culture of indigenous peoples, whether Aussie Aboriginal, Bedouin, Inuit, or Native American. I am stating that that any indigenous people were largely nomadic tribes, & had to first conquer, then defend their living area, hunting grounds, & cultural identity, or lose, be eradicated &/or assimilated. Good luck in finding the original genetically pure "Adam & Eve". Human advancement of any type, biological or cultural, is a function of "creative tension", mixing, cross fertilisation, & survival of the fittest. The very idea of "inalienable rights" contradicts the indigenous people's own philosophy of survival of the fittest! It is, in reality, Western paternalism, bigotry, & destructive perpetuation of victimhood. Forgive my digression... 2. Unfortunately, reading the US Constitution is, at this stage, almost irrelevant. Over time, it has been circumvented, judicially interpreted, & generally trashed by politicians seeking power & control (in the name of human progress, of course!). The ever broadening usage of the "Commerce" & "General Welfare" Clauses have been misused to the point of (IMO) soon to be US totalitarianism. US States have found it convenient to abrogate their power (& responsibilities), to suck off the Federal teat. Although the US Constitution, Bill of Rights, & Declaration of Independence are some of the greatest documents ever written (along with the Ten Commandments, Bible & perhaps the Magna Carta!), they are only declarations of human aspirations. "Biology will always overpower ideology"; democracy is not a natural condition, & power hungry politicians will always seek to subjugate, manipulate, & control, to the point of establishing a new aristocracy &/or monarchy. "Democracy is not a spectator sport", & politicians need to be constantly reminded of that! If you want to understand the Constitutional process & issues, Google the aforementioned Clauses. In many respects, it is similar to what the Israeli Supreme Court has done to Israeli law, politics, & defense over the last 25 years. Hope this clarifies & helps.

Yaron ,   USA   (03.24.10)
Point on with your comments.....I am similarly irritated by the Jewish left in America that are partners to this disgrace of a president. I am embarassed that 70% of American Jews voted for this scam artist and have been duped like the other portion of the electorate that elected this mental case. To Yes He Will.....why don't you go bow to your Arab masters and stop posting your garbage online for the world to see your ignorance.
27. No he won't!
Edward ,   New York, USA   (03.24.10)
He will be etched on the pages of history as the new Neville Chamberlain of the world! Israel does not need an American plan, nor will anyone in Israel or the Jewish Diaspora accept it. Obama needs to reaffirm the commitments of the Bush Adminstration to allow for territorial adjustments. Stop demanding anti-semetic actions like not allowing Jews to settle in their own country and focus on correcting the errors he is making in the US with catastrophic debt, depletion of the NASA budget, healthcare, and his entire assbackwards foreign policy.
28. save zionism - return to Jewish borders
ben martin   (03.24.10)
our ties to the land are unshakable but the land is today inhabited by a people who do not want us to occupying them. To stay Jewish and democratic Israel must with pain and tears repartition the land west of the Jordan River. Sanity and realism must prevail - messianism will be our downfall.
29. #24
Dan ,   USA   (03.24.10)
No it is not. Healthcare is not covered by the Constitution as something that is to be regulated by the state. Mind your own country, we already give you 3 billion in military aid, tons of loans that we forgive, veto everything against you at the UN, and act as if you are our long-lost child by excusing your every inexcusable act against those whose land it was less than 50 years ago that you're living on. We're no guests of yours. We give you everything and we will impose ourselves on you as you impose yourselves on the locals without treating them like humans.
30. false comment
ruel alexander ,   Chicao, Il   (03.24.10)
Americans are not thrown out of emergency rooms because of no insurance. They are treated and the hospital passes the cost to those with insurance.
