1. who is spilling blood?
Eddie ,   london UK   (03.23.10)
Not even 1 drop of Haredi blood has been spilt, and yet this maniac Eichler is calling it a blood libel. Yet, delaying a hospital ward will lead to danger of lives. Furthermore, the extra cost involved in relocating the Emergency ward, is money that could be invested inthe Health service, in doctors and medicine. So it is the absurdist haredi ideology which is threatening lives, and not the criticism of it.
2. Eichler.....GO GET 'EM...this article is RIGHT ON!

3. Saving lives
Madeleine   (03.23.10)
Seems the Haredi value a pile of dead bones more than saving Jewish (and others) lives. It's about time this community, which lives out of the middle ages, stops holding the country to ransom.
4. See the world around you
Noa   (03.23.10)
It is good that Haredim start to notice the effect their believes have on other Jews. Maybe it is the first step into the right direction, namely to deal with reality.
5. #3 It can also be called...
(03.23.10)
...NECROPHILIA!!!!
6. Eichler is right, there is a war waged by the leftist media
M   (03.23.10)
The secular leftist Israel hates the othodox, aka "haredim" more than the terrorists who kill their children. Commentators to this article and the Lapid one are so blinded they can't even respond to his allegations, but continue to berate not even relating to the content of this article. Don't forget, we were exiled because hatred against our brothers.
7. maybe this act will finally bring about the birth of a secul

...NECROPHILIA.
10. I shall address you just as plain Eichler
Sagi   (03.23.10)
and that is because I have no respect for you. The main reason that I have no respect for you is that you have no respect for me. You have just called me a "pagan". That is a very derogatory term. You have also just called me antisemitic. I very much regret that you find it necessary to use such epithets both to me and to my fellow countrymen. The behaviour of the members of your sector of society leaves a lot to be desired. The secular and mainstream sectors of society are, to put it mildly, quite fed up with you, and I for one sincerely hope that the end of your coercive tactics and violent demands will soon come. Violence can be both physical and verbal. You used verbal violence in this article. Shame on you.
11. Dead vs. Alive?
A Jeursalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.23.10)
The dead are NOT more important than the living, especially not when the living are in need of emergency medical care. There are procedures within Judaism for moving bodies. So let the Haredi do that and let the living have the care they need.
12. to M #6
eddie ,   london UK   (03.24.10)
If there is hatred for some Haredi policies, then you shoudl try to address the problem - rather than just assume that you are immune from error. The haredi view is that whatever acts of yours are opposed, this is proof that it is a special mitzva for you to cling on to. Antagonism is about zionism, and equality. Secualrs see great inequalities - haredim refuse to serve in the army, and wish to be subsidised to study Talmud all day long. Yet they cause damage to the benefit of the Kahal. The emergency wing of a hospital is to save lives. On what basis are the haredim preventing this? That the world will think Israel are grave diggers? No, the world doesnt care much about these planigndecisions, if you read the news, they are more interested in E. Jerusalem. I appreciate what you say about hatred - and I think you are wrong. If you mixed with left, right, secualr, traditoonal, and zionists, you will see that people are very different. You might have a good friend who is secualr, and and enemy who is orthodox. It is nto about religious observance - it is about trying screw everyone else. If that is not the case, then change the perception.
13. They want to move the ER ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (03.24.10)
Well let them take the money from their yeshivot if it's so important for them . To save a life is MANDATORY in the Jewish religion . That means also NOT endangering lives . And by moving this ER , they endanger lives .
14. #11 - This is the same kind of thing where...
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (03.25.10)
.... fundamentalist American "Christians" put fetuses above real living out of the womb children.
