1. Those narscistic Tofu eating idiots!!!
Bartley Kulp ,   Afulla, Israel   (03.31.10)
This will only increase global warming. Cows living to a ripe old age and fart themselves senseless increases global warming. Killing them early and eating them actually reduces this effect. Eating Veal is especially beneficial for this because you kill them before they can reproduce. My next recommendation would be to kill all of the whales. Can anybody imagine how much methane is released from whale farts?
2. A good idea
Ilan ,   Ariel   (03.31.10)
Eating less meat would probably help the environment, although in Israel where the meat is chicken and turkey mostly the benefits to the environment would be smaller as these sources are far more efficient at converting grain to meat protein.
3. Eco-terrorists.
Airborne ,   Jerusalem   (03.31.10)
Green is the new Red - A stealth assault on capitalism in the name of saving the planet is chic and entirely plausible. In this sense, green is the new red. No thanks, I will decide when and how I will eat my meat.
4. Bring on the meatt!!

Fools!
5. ignorants
Darya ,   TA   (03.31.10)
the meat industry is the no 1 cause for global warming, water pollution and waste of water. we must eat less meat to keep living on this planet
6. Seems like a good way to raise awareness
Amir ,   Haifa, Israel   (03.31.10)
Cutting down accessive meat consumption for just one day a week may not seem like much, but it's a very good way to raise awareness to this very important issue.
7. just like the......
ecr   (03.31.10)
x-tians who didn't eat meat on friday, so now we have this reason. Give it up already. If you are Jewish we already have laws to help what haShem says is important.
8. Global Warming Scam
Lisa ,   USA   (04.01.10)
So were the so called "climate scientists" that were out pushing this scam the same "scientists" who have been cooking the books for years with false data? Are they the same scientists that decided what the results of tests would be before actually conducting them and then changing the result to match their desired conclusion? Or did you not ask them?

14. Everyday is "meatball day" in leftist loonie land
Louie M. ,   Belgium   (04.07.10)
Global warming, Darwinism and all the rest of it, presented by several generations of "meatballs" with patches on their jackets!
15. Our "meatless Thursday" had nothing to do with global warmin
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (04.08.10)
Thursday night fare in our Syrian Jewish household growing up included mujedrah (rice with brown lentils and onions) and spanekh b'jibn (spinach-cheese frittata). It provided both a healthy break from a nightly meat fare and a contrast with the Shabbat fare that would follow the next evening. My mother is too frail to make it on my infrequent visits, so I'll have to learn to make it myself. You J-dubs (Ashkenazim) don't know what you're missing.
16. Reply to # 14 you are what you eat
Avi ,   Israel   (04.08.10)
Guess you like a bit of dead cow to satisfy the caveman in you. Yab ba dab ba doo
17. I can't believe the ignorance my fellow Jews show
Michael L ,   TA Israel   (04.09.10)
Its proven many times over the cost factory farming of animals is doing to our planet. Stop being so greedy and selfish, and grow up. Not eating meat once a week is so little to ask. Take some social responsibility and do whats right for your health, the animals well being, and our dying planet. Its not a myth, its a fact. Please, don't be so closed to the truth the industry is hiding from you. If those factories had glass walls, I would hope you would all be eating much less meat.
18. deniers please explain
Alison ,   New York, USA   (07.26.10)
Why would scientists make up a story that we are damaging the earth and will soon not be able to undo the damage? Are you really convinced that human actions are not negatively impacting the earth?
