1. Ehud Barak
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (03.24.10)
Yossi Sarid aptly renamed Barak "Ehud Runaway" because his career is highlighted by running away and let others get punished for his crimes. Famously in the Second Intifada, Barak blamed police for the deaths of 13 Arab rioters. Now, Barak wants to hang blame these two heroes to escape Goldstone's accusations that he is a war criminal

didn't love to kill and murder Israeli's every chance they get. Let those soldiers go - they were protecting themselves.

What is new here, betrayed!! funny..
4. I completely understand the soldiers
ghostq   (03.24.10)
and what I don't understand is where is the kid parents, who in his right mind(most likely not) will give his child, I have seen how Hamas member grab children from the streets with one hand and holding a gunin the other and no they weren't any relatives or protecting the children since they aimed with the hand holding the gun, it is a video so it is also submisble incourt, palis have no segnificanse for their children so y anyone else will care for them, I hope the soldiers will get acquited, cause they r just scape goats, for something their country didn't initiate.
5. Show trial
jeff ,   IRELAND   (03.24.10)
The ';witness statement' from a nine year old seems peculiarly elaborate for such a young person. I reckon this is a show trial, to avoid having bigger fish being fried
6. Soldiers have been betrayed
Spencer ,   Israel   (03.24.10)
Charging these soldiers is a travesty of justice. They were protecting and defending not them selves, but their Country, and this is the thanks they get. Shame on those that brought these soldiers to a trial that should NEVER have been.
7. Big.brave IDF
Resistor   (03.24.10)
The IDF have continually been proven to use non-jewish human shields. The most immoral army in the world, and the most gutless.
8. :: Blaming everyone except the guilty!
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (03.24.10)
"These are combat soldiers who - despite being in a very difficult situation - acted in a very moral manner… in a situation in which the enemy used civilians (as shields).” Such statements can only be taken seriously if there was any morality behind such sentiments however as we all know the IDF use innocent civilians in abundance. By the IDFs own admission they have used innocent Palestinian civilians to hide behind on 1,200 occasions over a 5 year period. No one here can disprove this fact/statistic, the best you can do is ignore this fact as it belies the claim that the IDF act “in a very moral manner”. No so-called professional army in the world, other than the IDF, use innocent civilians to hide behind. No other so-called professional army in the world, other than the IDF, uses innocent children to open bags that may be bobby trapped. Of course most Ynuts (a new term coined by a guy called Jeff yesterday which I think is quite fitting) here will blame anyone and everything other than the two soldiers responsible for this immoral act of cowardice. I see that ‘israel’ in post #2 is already blaming the Palestinians for their “love to kill and murder Israeli's every chance they get” as the root cause behind the moral decision of these two cowardly soldiers to force a innocent child to open bags suspected to be bobby trapped. Apparently the moral logic is that the Palestinians are guilty for every act of moral depravity the Israelis are ‘forced’ to perpetrate. This is a textbook case of DARVO - Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender. Many of the Ynuts here suffer from this condition but I am happy to tell you that it is treatable with large doses of reality.

interesting you hold israel to a high standard that you completly give Hamas and Fatah a pass on.... it is a known fact that these two terror groups do not mind teaching thier own children to be suicide bombers and to kill Jews.... http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2007/may/09/usa.israel and to launch Qassams at civilian areas putting at risk israeli children and adults http://www.youtube.com/user/justicevspropaganda

Do you have children? Can you IMAGINE your 9-year-old boy, who has just urinated in his pants, at soldiers' gunpoint, being forced to open bags suspected of containing bombs? As an American (and - by the way - my children have gone to Jewish schools) -- I'm FURIOUS with Israel's government, actions, and conduct. I think Israelis have very little idea how much American public opinion is turning against them, and how quickly. (And - please - If Yishai is so naive to actually think the announcement timing wasn't a big deal -- it's either stupidity, or a lie.) Shas and the settler movement are SERIOUSLY undermining support for Israel in the US. We're sick and tired of looking the other way on illegal settlements, the ridiculous stance that Israel has no nuclear arms, and having *every* other nation on earth vote against Israel and the US in UN general council votes. Israel: you need to make more friends. US power will not last forever -- and your technology will not be enough. Olive branches are the most powerful weapon of all -- can you offer them?
