31. # 28 Nonsense
Sagi   (03.27.10)
Israel is a sovereign nation and the first obligation of the leaders of a sovereign nation is to keep that sovereignty safe and secure. All other nations do this by all available and necessary means, diplomatic, economic and military. Israel has the exact same right and her leaders have the exact same obligation. If we are confronted by a bunch of terrorists along our sovereign border then we must deal with them, including elimination if so be it. The time has come for Israel to put an end to this "anomaly" called Gaza. We have already renounced all claim and we want nothing to do with them. Egypt is their natural home, Gaza is part of the Sinai desert, and that in turn is part of Egypt. They must align themselves with their natural brothers and build a life for themselves instead of trying to destroy ours but only destroying their own in the process.
32. It's all Obama's fault
Robert ,   Brisbane, Australia   (03.27.10)
#20 "It's all Obama's fault" Yes, he's solely responsible for the previous 6 decades of violence. Get real.
33. Go IDF
Dave ,   Perth, Australia   (03.27.10)
The only way to stop a war is to be so tough that no one dare touch you. This has been a lesson that history has taught us time and time again. The IDF should take the biggest stick they have to the arab terrorists. Go IDF, show them the size of your stick!!!
34. Not following procedure
Genuine Tosefta ,   Tveria   (03.27.10)
It looks like the IDF rushed into Gaza without following the standard procedure of using human shields to protect its soldiers. Shame on you IDF for making such a mistake.
35. Peter #4, there is something seriously wrong with you?
Eyal ,   USA   (03.27.10)
Hamas admitted they ambushed the soldiers, by planting bombs around the fence. They kill 2 soldiers (worth a 1000 Pals - Hamas's estimation) and the IDF were the bullies? It seems to me based on your words, you are justifying this operation by the terrorists and eager to see more terrorists and some civilian deaths in Gaza? I have no problem for that, but this time, this government will finish the job once and for good and there is will be nothing you can do about it, you scum.
36. The world suffers from bad intellect
JT ,   Seattle, USA   (03.27.10)
The world listens to foolish people who entertain themselves with nonsense. That is why they ignore the real players who use Gaza as a tool for their tyranny. Israel is a democracy who has been asked the unthinkable in the face of tyranny and homicide. The two faces of the intelligentsia do not serve the people of Gaza but only the tyrants who kill even their own people to satisfy their lust for power and to take what God will not allow.
37. We both have a right.
Yonatan ,   USA   (03.27.10)
The Palestinians can take whatever actions they want inside their territory and Israelis can take whatever sort of retaliatory action against their militants that they want. Israel does not have to respect the Gaza border because they are at WAR with Hamas and all the other terrorist factions in Gaza. What's the matter? Hamas can dish it out but can't take it back? Two entities at war don't often respect the other's border. As long as Hamas maintains its stated position that it is at war with Israel it will be treated as an enemy and its borders will not be respected. This is how wars are fought. But once again we have the typical antisemites here holding Israel to a different standard than the rest of the world.
38. # 28
Birdi ,   Israel   (03.27.10)
Exactly. Sagi are so right. Good post.
39.  # 29
Birdi ,   Israel   (03.27.10)
Oh ? since when do the IDF have to protect Palestinian kids on their way to school?
40. # 30
Birdi ,   Israel   (03.27.10)
What a load of pure crock.
41. # 4 Aotearoa
Sagi   (03.27.10)
Indeed you do live on a "long white cloud", right up there in cuckooland.
42. 19 Geneva conention allow them to resist
lydia ,   Brisbane   (03.27.10)
Israel occupation is illegal. Geneva convention hardly apply where the occupation is illegal. Both the Iraq and Afghanistan faces still resistance, US goes to length to prove via elections that it is not a 'occupation' but a 'liberation'. Palestine is under a belligerent occupation.
43. Gaza should be bombed to cinders until Schalit released and.
berard ross ,   st anns bay jamaica   (03.27.10)
...weapons dismantled. No apologies to all those closet anti semites writing to this post. If you want to kill me then I want to kill you first. No jew should accept the spurious arguments of these descendants of the 2000 year jew killers. They have no problem with dead jews, they have proven this in serial fashion. Jews need to concentrate on killing the enemy , including his financiers and supporters. Dont argue with these jew baiters writing here.
44. # 21: One man's terrorist is..
Iyad ,   Dundee, Scotland   (03.27.10)
another man's freedom fighter.. Actually I have scottish friends who have been to Gaza and seen the Ghetto that Israel (once a sufferer of Ghettos) created and maintained..what a discgrace ....Leaving the tranquility of the Scottish weather to see the collective israeli punishment on a civillian population...its no wonder that they resort to defend them selves...Israel is a barbarian country.
45. American Aid
mofo ,   Tampa USA   (03.27.10)
Stop all American Aid to the terrorist state of Israel.....God Bless Hamas and Hezbollah.......
46. #40 Birdi
Mordechai ,   Akko, Erez Israel   (03.27.10)
It's difficult to ignore the day-to-day reality: sfaradim and ashkenazim may be genetically tightest relatives (well, unfortunately they often aren't, as sties show), but as a fact of the matter, from a behavioral PoW sfaradim and aravim as well as ashkenazim and - just as an example - Germans have more in common as sfaradim and ashkenazim with each other. Unfortunately! And this is one of the reasons why having an external enemy keeps together two distinct ethnic groups that otherwise would possibly fight each other. War is the main glue that cements a society full of inner jewish ressentiments.
47. IDF will lead "wide spread attack" after their "mistake"...
Michael Hess ,   Charlotte, NC   (03.27.10)
...note to self. Post this talkback, forward this Ynet article to President Obama and his staff. Keep it up Israel. You are making your own name hated across the world with your violent bullshit.
48. # 47
Birdi ,   Israel   (03.27.10)
Pathetic Hess is wrong again. Take your bullshit & stick it where the sun dont shine.
49. # 46
Birdi ,   Israel   (03.27.10)
Oh yes ?? so howcome we have so many intermarriages between the 2 sects ?? (not the Arabs) I disagree with your point of view. Maybe in Akko its like you say it is. The fact that we are all JEWS unites us.
50. 30

Rosie   (03.28.10)
Absolutely correct
52. #31 Sagi
ZIonist ,   Miami   (03.28.10)
Look, Sagi - I agree with you 100% but Israel is facing unfair constraints on its ability to defend her citizens. Israel must work within the international framework she has been dealt and be smart and outmaneuver the Palestinians and the international community. While they are options for countries like Russia, China and the Arab world, Israel is not given the free hand to flatten Gaza as any of the other abovementioned countries would do without a peep from the UN or the rest of the world.
