1. Somalia, Soudan, Darfur? Moslems persecuted by the West?
Joe ,   Canada   (03.31.10)
ElBaradei must have been too busy with the IAEA to read the newspapers for the last few years. Where are the western suported dictators in Somalia, Soudan, Darfur? Who is killing Muslims in these countries as well as in the majority of cases in Afghanistan & Irak if not other Muslims? The bloody chaos the various extreme Islamist groups are trying to exacerbate is just their way to try gaining control through terror & disorder. Should these groups come out as victorious, they would not be any better than western leaning autocrats as the Iran case has amply demonstrated.
2.  ElBaradei: Western policy in Mideast a total failure
Robi Nagyhasi ,   Budapest, Hungary   (03.31.10)
ElBaradei:is also a huge failure. In his previous post he did not accomplish anything meaningfull except side with Iran on most nuke issue. This man is useless
3. More Arab madness
Frank ,   Canada   (04.01.10)
So Muslims are killing each other and are destroying their own countries but the West is responsible.
4. HE WANTS YOUR JOB MUBARAK
Sherman ,   USA   (04.01.10)
All he is doing is running for office. If he did get into power in Egypt the country would become chaotic. You can't bring western style democracy to a poverty stricken land like Egypt. He would lose control of the country in less than 6 months.
5. and most Egypians refuse camp david peace agreement
saher   (04.01.10)

7. Of course you think you are successful....
Jaacov Baumann   (04.01.10)
But the rest of the world sees you as the one who allowed Iran to procced with its nuclear programm ! If supporting a nazi-government like the one in Iran means success for Mr Baradei, then Mr Baradei was a very successful UN staff ! Mr. Baradei : Fighting the people of Israel never was a smart idea - just check your own nations history and learn !
8. LOOK WHO IS TALKING. This disgusting dictator used his
Harry Wright ,   UK   (04.01.10)
position in the IAEA to allow the despots in Iran to advance their nuclear program thus carrying the world closer to Armageddon. Now he is attempting to blame democracies for the behaviour of the Islamists. As a scientist he should investigate the correlation between the violence and Islam. It sure ain't oil.
9. Agree 100%! Western Leftists support tyrants!
William ,   Israel   (04.01.10)
And this is why the world is a mess today and human rights are abused all over the place. They cozy up to despots and murderers and steal the rights from victims, while blaming "the establishment". Good eye, Baradei! I'm sure you've seen it as a constant agenda while at the IAEA.
10. The west thinks El Baradai is a total failure.
AJ ,   Washington, DC   (04.01.10)
11. He Supported Saddam!
Herut ,   New York, USA   (04.01.10)
This hypocrite was against the deposing of Saddam Hussein...but wait, Hussein was a "president," and in arabic that means "not a tyrant." Sorry about that !
12. AND ARAB ME POLICIES HAVE BEEN REALLY SUCCESSFUL!
stude ham   (04.01.10)

13. We toppled Hussein & Taliban; Iran's Mullahs fall next, sir!
Daniel ,   Los Angeles, USA   (04.01.10)
Are you suggesting we crush the Saudi Regime next, ElBaradi? Or target Mubarak? ElBaradi, the Warmonger!
14. El Baradei's too modest
eh-oop ,   UK   (04.01.10)

zvi   (04.01.10)
That's CERTAINLY an utter failure, one that has put the whole region in grave danger. Inept weenie.
18. The ex Atomic King
joe   (04.01.10)
While I do not disagree with your statement Mr. El-Baradei, you are in no position to gloat regarding your policy in the Mideast. Total failure would not be an understated fact. But I do agree with your comments on " betting on people, instead of individuals " i.e. Ahmadinejad, Nasrallah, Mubarak, Abdullah, Assad, and others in the same neighborhood. The only omission is that the " People " should get rid of their tyrants, including ALL their worthless mullahs, ayatollahs, imams; not foreigners.
19. IDIOT !!!.
Arn. ,   SWEDEN.   (04.01.10)
SHOULD THE WEST INTERVINE MILITARILY, AND TOPPLE AL REGIMES IN THE MIDDLE EAST, OCCUPIE ALL THOSE NATIONS, AND CALL FOR DEMOCRATIC ELECTIONS ???.' WHAT KIND OF AN IDIOT IS THIS ??? Arn.
20. The West did not create these problem but has not help fix
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (04.01.10)
Muslims are their own worst enemies, it is easy to blame the West but the West has help make the problems worst by using so much oil and drugs Israel needs to find a fair solution but it needs the Jordan river valley as a border or security will always be a problem, the north and south borders are small enough to defend but not the eastern border.
21. When he's right, he's right...
Mikesailor ,   Miami, FL   (04.01.10)
Western policy in the Middle East has been a zero sum game. It has been based upon the idea that stability is paramount to keep the oil flowing, no matter how corrupt or undemocratic the regime is trrowards its own citizens. With the advent of world communications not controlled by the governments in power, the populations of these countries become more and more restless. The insanity of the Western and Israeli mindset becomes more and more evident. The idea that people are fungible, that all 'Arabs' are the same is rank racism and stupidity.
22. El Baradi
Archie1954 ,   Vancouver,BC   (04.01.10)
It is very refreshing to hear the truth from someone who knows and from someone who has an international reputation for honesty and forthrightness. I certainly believe him over any western politician.
23. This disgusting dictator
