Shalom Rabbi Levi, I am the rabbi responsible for certifying and developing the new soft chewy Matza. You can see more about this product http://kosherveyosher.com.au/modx/index.php?id=288 This Matza has been most popular, selling out in record time. We have been overwhelmed with orders for next year. Best meir

There is little evidence that eating soft matza is a sefardi custom like kitniyot. For more about this whole topic, see http://galusaustralis.com/2010/03/2857/its-matzah-but-not-as-you-know-it/ and http://galusaustralis.com/2010/03/2865/soft-matzah-rabbi-rabi-responds-to-rabbinical-council-criticism/
4. Matzot racot, מצות רכות
Eliyahu ,   Yrushalayim   (04.04.10)
Soft matzot are not a new invention. The Temani Yemenite Jews, which happen to be the most pristine tradition of Judaism, make them. The soft matzot are available here in Yrushalayim. We had some this Pesach. Did you really think the square or round crackers were made the first Pesach? It's a heck of a business though.

a very nice, well constructed article Mr brackman. even a goi like me could identify with it. modern society with its bland consumerism and its instant gratification can never lead to happiness and fullfilment. it is easy to get hung-up on the small things and miss the big picture.
