not like the poison from bait ha-SHITah..this is the real stuff what a shame...the only way to save it is to start BUYING it and stop wasting your $$$$ on garbage canned on the other side of the world.
3. There's nothing like a good half-sour
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (04.14.10)
I grew up in Miami when it wasn't tough to find a proper half-sour pickle (my personal favorite). I suspect it's a lot tougher today, as the kids rarely took over the business. Here in DC it's a veritable wasteland. Other than a Jewish eatery that opened downtown (haven't tried their pickles), there's nothing but bottled store-bought. And even within a given brand you may end up with soggy and not crisp.
4. ghostq are you kidding??

With all respect it is true that American food in general can not hold a candle to much of the gourmet delights in Europe... but please you will never, ever find a pickle as good as the one that they used to make at Gus' or for that matter a knish like the ones at Yona Schimmil and I am afraid that the great Pastrami that one could once get in New York is gone.... and Bagels are getting harder and harder to find..... G-d I can't go on... my eyes are full of tears.
5. to #4 y is that did everyone really live on junk food?
ghostq   (04.15.10)
in parts of Europe junk food industry like famous hamburgers or pizzas parlors got bank ruppet cause the lokal food is better tastier and healthier. I rekon in the USA it's the other way around, the only two places in Europe you must keep away cause the food is bad, realy bad, A is the UK B Russia, well UK it's obvious (also culrue wise) and in Russia if you like boiled potato and boiled chiken with nothing but salt, apprently they never heard of spices.
6. New York maybe the worst city in the world,
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (04.15.10)
but, they made good pickles. It must have been the schmutz in the air.
