Burning bread you call living like a Jew ?? I'm sure that it was not in Ten Commandments.Half of my family died in WWII from starvation ,but someone like you,who was born in the West, can't understand that .

33. choices
Jeffrey Brock   (04.05.10)
We have choices to make. We make good ones, and we make bad ones. The Almighty gives us freewill to choose between His Torah and mans desires. When we choose His Torah, we cannot go wrong. When we choose our own desires, many things will go wrong. However, as for me and my house, we're going to serve the King of the Universe and obey His Torah.

36. A house of sin: that restaurant
Yehudi ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.06.10)
Disgusting that a restaurant in Israel is selling chametz on Pesach. The owner is committing an enormous sin.
37. A better way is to start doing the shmah and not magic
Josh   (04.06.10)
Every Tephilin table you set up should be a Torah learning center where we hear Moses' words, not some Arab language written Kabbalah that violates Torah. Dev 4:2
38. Chametz? Who cares???

Any haredi demonstrating against US (normal jews!!) should be put into jail with their friends (Hamas terrorists) so they make new friends....

40. A red line crossed
Shlomo Silverstein ,   Maale Adumim   (04.07.10)
Democracy has nothing to do with it. It's all about having the right to still call oneself a Jew. A Zionist would telll you that there has been a national/religious/cultural connection between the land of Israel and the jewish people for four thousand years. This statement presurposes that every jew has a connection to the Jewish people. Even for the most secular Jew to call him/herself a Jew, they must associate themselves in some way to Judaism, even if only on a very basic simplest level. Every Jew who is honest with themselves must realise that if they eat bread on Pesach then they have crossed that minimum red line. They have disassociated themselves from the Jewish People and even if they call themselves Zionist, have forfeited their right to a Jewish country. When your children ask you, what right to we have to this land? What will you tell them?
41. #28 Brilliant definition of a Jew - NOT!
shlmo Silverstein ,   Maale Adumim, israel   (04.07.10)
#28, I see you have thought this through thoroughly. So if you know how to use a computer, like reading a lot and have an IQ above a certain level and you worry about the environment and humanity then that makes you a REAL JEW? #28, do you really think this defines a Jew? I have news for you. This only defines a REAL HUMAN BEING! Your definition of a Jew is the most intolerant, jingoist, racist, ignorant rubbish I have ever heard. Quite frankly, you are embarrassing! What really defines a Jew? Go and learn something about Judaism and them get back to us.
42. #28 and #41
Samson ,   NJ USA   (04.07.10)
I’ve got news for you! Neither #26 nor you have the authority to define what a Jew is. We have the bible and the Talmud that define what a Jew is. Now you can call yourself a Jew if it makes you feel better, but with all due respect, the Haraidim are closer to the real thing then you! As an Orthodox Jew. I don’t see a big difference between selling Chamatz on Passover and destructing other people’s property. Both are forbidden by the same Torah. Having said that, it’s extremely inappropriate and insensitive to sell Chamatz in Jerusalem on Passover. I think most Israelis will agree with that. After all, 86% of Israeli Jews don’t eat Chamatz on Passover “BY CHOICE” (according to a report I read). I see this store owner as no less of an extremist then the Haraidim that turned up to protest him! As a democracy, people should have the right to “peacefully” protest this.
43. Why did this story make news??
Samson ,   NJ USA   (04.07.10)
70 nut jobs (according to this report, probably exaggerated!) came out to protest another, even bigger nut case that doesn’t have the decency to respect the sanctity of the holy city and the customs observed by the majority of the Israeli society! We are talking about the most extreme on both ends of the rope! Shame on the media for publishing this story that is designed to tarnish the image of the Haraidi community!
