How about Zippy Livni goes to the Hague to face Goldstone's charges that she is a war criminal? Zippy would certainly come out innocent, exposing the Goldstone report as a faked document to delegitimze Israel and Goldstone as an opportunist who is willing to do anything for enough money. She would do Israel a real service.
2. Fake image with Livni not more..that what you need?!!
Salma ,   Palestine   (04.06.10)
"Israel" is utterly disingenuous to continue to pretend... What you need to do is not a new leader or a beautiful woman, but a courageous leader can look in your eyes to tell you what to hear, not what you love to heard, we "Israelis or Jews"as you want ... We can't continue with the occupation, racism and dispossession of another people we must end All of this immediately and that for us, first and before anything else....As long as this leader is impossible to create today, we must escalate the international civil society campaign of boycott, divestment and sanctions to force "Israelis" to choose a saner path. NOTE: LIVNI WANTED FOR WAR CRIMES IN "GREAT BRITAIN"
3. Livni
jeremy ,   jerusalem   (04.06.10)
You make it sound too simple. The fact is, that Livni must join the government and stand together with Bibi and help him stand up to the world. This is something that she is incapable of doing under any circumstances. So stop hoping or hinting Eitan. As for our friend Salma, one day soon, you and your people will be liberated. I hope you don't mind Jordan as your new home.

Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (04.06.10)
"There were no such thing as Palestinians. When was there an independent Palestinian people with a Palestinian state? It was either southern Syria before the First World War, and then it was a Palestine including Jordan. It was not as though there was a Palestinian people in Palestine considering itself as a Palestinian people and we came and threw them out and took their country away from them. They did not exist." - Golda Meir

Ben-Gurion recognized the strong attachment of Palestinian Arabs to the land but hoped that this would be overcome in time. in 1956, Ben-Gurion stated: "Why should the Arabs make peace? If I was an Arab leader I would never make terms with Israel. That is natural: we have taken their country ... There has been anti-Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault? They only see one thing: we have come here and stolen their country. Why should they accept that? They may perhaps forget in one or two generations' time, but for the moment there is no chance"
7. Salvage?
Ricardo Macher ,   Karnei Shomron IL   (04.06.10)
Dear Mr. Haber, kindly explain how can Tzipy Livni who failed a year ago and has been failing as opposition leader "salvage" the country. Do you really believe anybody in the world will believe there is a difference if she is in the government? Do you really believe she is so respected? Please Mr. Haber! Find a new hobby like chess or something like that!
8. #3 &#5 One day we will be what we want
Salma ,   Palestine   (04.06.10)
Hey,Jeremy ...As a Palestinian, I refuse to take Jordan as my alternative country , and I really think that there is no Palestinian will accept that. Because sooner or later we will return back to our land, and live again in our homes where no any occupation at all.......NO to change the equation and the target Klein ,I'm not going to learn my history from you, know this,, right?!
9. During 'Cast Lead' the Likud supported the govenment
Ilan ,   Ariel   (04.06.10)
Why is there a need to extract a price in order to support the State? And why would anyone expect for Livni to put her interests as less vital than anything else. Perhaps someone should ask Yoel Hasson, her hatchet man, why he engineered those damaging misunderstandings while Biden was here and Netanyahu was in the States. What is needed is not a change in policy by the government, but a return to integrity among the opposition parties. They would rather sink the country then have the democratically elected government captain the ship. Every boat has rats, but why invite them to sit in a place of honor at the captain's table?
10. Good advice from # 7!!!

Cheap PR!
11. Delusional thinking
Frank ,   Canada   (04.06.10)
Israel delegitimation is related to the current leadership. The so-called world wants to topple Bibi because they know that he is restoring Israel sovereignty and interests and that he does not want to surrender to Muslim Jihad. Livni is not interested in following such a path because she is a weak leader and she is afraid to do what has to be done. Bringing her in the government will not change anything. Israel must stubbornly resist the so-called world and impose her own agenda.
12. #8 read your own history
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (04.06.10)
Before the Mandate, there were Arab Muslims living in Israel alongside other groups. These people certainly deserve to live in Israel, and no one doubts it. However, as soon as they received control of Israel in order to help reestablish the Jewish homeland, the British violated International law and limited Jewish immigration while encouraging massive Arab Muslim immigration from Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria. Even Arafat knew this and defined a "Palestinian" as any Arab Muslim who lived in Israel until 1948, that is including the immigrants who came in 1947 and lived in Israel less than a year. Let us take a step for peace by agreeing that Arab Muslim immigrants since 1920 must go back to their homelands, and that the Jews only need to negotiate with the Arabs Muslims who lived here before. Arab Christians should be allowed to stay because we all know that they will be massacred in their Muslim homelands. What do you say? Will you take this step for peace?
13. Tzippi Schpitzer: The saviour
tom ,   tel aviv   (04.06.10)
Many, many years ago(15?) somebody wrote a piece in Jerusalem Post about future negotiations with the Arabs, as to the extent of israeli concessions towards the "Palestine". The punch-line of that funny article was: We (the israelis) under no circumstances shall relinquish rights to the second floor (in its entire lenght) of the Tachana Merkazit in Tel Aviv !!! -that after we gave away Jerusalem, Galil, west/east bank, Hertzelyia you name it..... But Hell no, we DO HAVE RED LINES !! At that time the article seemed absurd&still funny. Today it looks like a bloody prophecy!! Oh how low have we sunk. - and stop quoting BG, he was quite a shmuck and a retard ,'nuff said.

15. Livni's Ego
G.S. ,   USA   (04.06.10)
The last thing Israel needs is Livni and Kadima in the government. That said, however, even if your premise were true, Livni, like most politicians, would never put the good of the Nation before her own ego. She betrayed her proud family heritage a long time ago.

17. To#6: if you quote someone's alleged
Vardina   (04.06.10)
words you should state where the quotation is taken from, so that we should be able to read the whole text, not only what you have decided to take out of context.

19. :: Vardina - #17
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (04.06.10)
Are you incapable of checking facts for yourself? #6 posted a quote from Ben Gurion which is quite easy to check out and verify - if you have issue with this quote the onus is on YOU to disprove this quote. Who says that they are 'alleged' words? If you claim they are alleged then back up your accusation with some facts that prove that this quote is untrue. This quote is taken from a book called the 'The Jewish Paradox' by Nahum Goldman. Why should this matter? The quote is valid and has never been disproved by any historian/etc. Again the onus is on you if you require further education. If you want to read the 'whole text' get off your arse and learn more about the Jewish history that you and other Ynuts here are so self-ignorant on. Again the onus is on you to show that the quote was taken out of context as YOU are the one alleging that it is taken out of context. Vardina you are no different from the likes of Cynthia and Sarah B who are incapable of verifying facts and information from Jewish history. Ye have no excuse for such self-ignorance in this day and age with the advent of the Internet. If I was to guess I would also say that you are ignorant to the fact that Jews only owned about 7% of British Mandate Palestine before Israeli independence.
20. Livni's choice
solemnman ,   israel   (04.06.10)
Does she stand to benefit from a Natanyahu failure?iI don't think so. If she were to join the coalition and become a member of, what is needed now-a united front to deal with what has become a united front against Israel -she would be credited with putting the country before her own enmity against natanyahu and her own ambition to replace him.The electorate will know which position to reward.
21. Livni is the LAST thing Israel's govt. needs.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.06.10)
It would be difficult to think of a single thing Livni did which was not harmful to Israel. She disgraced us at Annapolis by entering the servants' doors and begging Arab leaders to shake her hand. She deprived us of victory in Lebanon by ceding everything to Hamas terrorists. She was fully complicit in all Olmert's disasters and had many more of her own. Livni is the LAST thing Israel's government needs. The legitimate goal of Israel is our rights and security. Not impressing liberals with our submissiveness.
22. Make nice nice to America
Shalom   (04.07.10)
Netanyahu should become a realist and realize that Israel is in need of a Super Power ally. When Israel has 400 million Jews then you can act like you are doing right now. Netanyahu should declare East Jerusalem the Palestinian capital, the West Bank the state of Palestine, stop all Jewish construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem and begin negotiations with Abbas on what ever concerns Abbas has on anything. Sometimes we must do things not because they are easy but because they are hard.
23. On Livni...
Shalom   (04.07.10)
In your Menachem Begin analogy you omitted that he became Prime Minister later. There is simply no such thing as political suicide. The public always forgives and forgets if you stick it out long enough. Obama has been a true friend to Israel. Bush let thousands become victims of terror in Israel. Obama's first year (2009) had the least amount of Israelis killed by Arabs since 1948. Judge people by their actions! Not their faulse declarations of friendship. Israel should show gratitude to Obama for his and America's kindness.
24. #22 What you advocate doing is insane.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.07.10)
#22 Shalom. This tiny land is ours. Our Arab neighbours have more than 600 times our land mass. When you advocate doing things "because they are hard" you really mean Israel should do things because they are insane. I would guess you are either a Jew hater or a Jew with a death wish a mile deep.
25. To Selma 8 You dont have to accept ....
Ari ,   Romania   (04.08.10)
But you are very foolish in denaying that that the Protectorate of Palestine given to the British by the League of Natiions was not only the Territory of What is Today Israel and the West Bank. 80% of the Protectorate was given to a Hashemite and with this the Kingdiom of Jordan was created. 90% of it's population is considered Palestinians. So Salma by denaying it it's your problem, but History in 1932 was a fact. England Divided 80% of the Palestine Protectorate and Gave it to one of two brothers Hussein, to the other brother was given Irak. Jordan has no Historical Reason to be. It was an integral part of the Protectorate of Palestine. Nobody protested because it was given to arabs. Right? Nobody was thinking of the poor Palestinians. Nobody was thinking at the time of an Arab Palestine. Then came the 2nd Partition in 1947 by the UN, based in the Mandate of the League of Nations in 1922, part was given to Arabs and part to Jews. Arabs did not accepted the partition and declare a war on the Jewish State, by 5 arab countries, thinking they will defeat the Jews, but that did not Happen. The West Bank and part of Jerusalem were taken and ANEXED by Jordan.Jerusalem was declared a Corp Separatus by the UN in 1947 but Jordanians did not respect this. For more than 20 Years after Nobody mention or remember Palestine or Palestinians. It was just JORDAN. Again Jordan, Egipt and Syria in 1967 declare a War and lost. Again they thought they were gong to throw the Jews to the sea. Again they Lost. You dont expect that being the arab the agressors more than three times Israel must just renounce to everything like if nothing Hapened. The refugees were the consequences of the Arab aggresion. You cannot deny this but that is an Historical Fact. Israel does not have to resolve the refugee problem, the arabs (Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Egipt and Irak ) Declare the war in 1948, they ask the people to leave so they, the Arab armies could throw the Jews to the sea. This did not hapen. Let the arabs integrate those refugees as Israel did with 1 million Jews who were thrown out and robed in the arab countries that they lived during more than 2000 years. For the only reason that Israel was created. Dont tell me that in your school they taught you that the Jews started the War in 1948 or maybe in 1956 or in 1967 or in 1973. And believe me I am very much awake writing this. Very much awake and confirming every word from records of the UN. So you wont say it is a Zionist Fable.
26. #19: Your style only proves that I am right
Vardina   (04.08.10)
in my opinion of you. As far as education is concerned I suggest that you try some modesty as long as you don't know the other person because you may turn out an utter id...
27. Matty Groves you are constantly Liying
Ari ,   Romania   (04.08.10)
You quote figures taken according to you GOOGLEIZING. It is Lie that Jews only had 7% of the lands of the Protectorate. You invented those fihures. They are not from the British, Zionist,or Otoman archives. You also said before only 4000 jews were in Palestine in the 1800. By 1850 according to Otoman sensus Jews were already the mayority in the City. There was a calculation of 45.000 Jews. The Old city did not have more space so Jews started also constructing outside the walls of the Old City in Places like Mahane Yehuda and what is called today Montefiore Mill. I have to recognize you have a big knoledge but you are inventing and manipulating figures. People hardly check your quotations and you know it. You quote in such a way that is a little impresive how much negative data you hold. Most of it is Data of opinion not statistical facts. They say that even the Devil can quote the Bible And you are a malicious antisemitic and demagogue Devil
