Her brain was dead meaning she could no longer think or feel or regulate her bodily functions. Her body could have continued, with the aid of machines to force breathing and blood-flow, for potentially another 40-odd years. Taking her off the machines allowed her body to join her mind in death. But her death gave life four-fold. Kol ha'kavod to her family. A part of her lives on in the people whose lives she saved.
