1. Let us hope both Anat and Uri will spend the rest of their
Anat ,   Hadera, Israel   (04.08.10)
lives behind bars, having placed in harm's way millions of Israelis!!!
2. Haaretz should be banned as an enemy organization
Avi ,   Geneva   (04.08.10)
They are indeed one of Israel's worst enemies, constantly producing and distributing lashon hara about Israel to the whole world. For example, causing the Goldstone report. An evil bunch of people - now proven to be engaged in spying activities. Shut them down!
3. And you people wonder why whole world hates you...
Brad ,   USA   (04.08.10)
"No, no, we do not hurt Palestinians, we kill only Hamas gunmen, all else is unpredicted collateral and you are an antisemitic for writing different!" And a documents where it is shown that you order killing of innocent civilians surface... "Argh!!! A traitor! Bohoho! Hung him! Kill him! send 10 plagues on him!" And of course, in none of your comments there is anything about killing innocent civilians - not the targets of assassination, mind you, but "approved hurting of innocent civilians". Nobody of great "righteous" here would write anything about that - TREASON, of somebody showing truth to goyim, is the major concern. Damn, if this document would surface in Poland or Germany or any other country, you would be up to your neck in screams "Antisemitism! Antisemitism!"
4. haaretz and blau are both guilty of espionage
izzie ,   usa   (04.08.10)
"fulfilling his duty". Pathetic. This is the excuse for a reporter taking secret documents and making them public. Then this joke turns over 50 documents and says that’s all of them as if he gets to decide what is a state secret. I have no use for these journalists who take stolen documents, expose state secrets and then try to shield themselves by claiming they were doing their job as if someone appointed them a judges of the truth. Haaretz and Blau should have gone to shin bet, handed the docs over and then exposed the affair. Instead they choose to profit by using the story and then claim to cooperate to avoid prosecution. Its time to clamp down and protect Israel from the liberal left wing who does everything they can to hurt the country under the guise of being loyal. I hope Kam and Blau get put away for a very long time, like life.
5. Brad #3 doesn't understand what he is reading
Z Lando ,   Israel   (04.08.10)
The section you used to rain your hate down on us is what Haaretz is saying, and even that is a bad translation from Hebrew. But, don't let the facts confuse you....
6. IDF & Shin Bet incompetence
Shmuel MIchal ,   Carversville, USA   (04.08.10)
This all reeks of a government cover up of its inability (1) to protect government secrets, (2) to stop their publication even when offered an opportunity to do so, and (3) its unwillingness to follow orders of the SUpreme Court. It comes in the wake of other reports that Bibi and his religious friends from the Jewish Hogwarts want to suppress free speech altogether in Israel. This country has not been run by such a bunch of mendacious fools since the second century BCE!
7. Haaretz does not serve the interest of Israel
tony ,   abuja   (04.08.10)
Several talkback commentators including this commentator has often criticised the Haaretz newspaper of not serving the good interest of Israel, and advised that the newspaper should be closely watched. Thank God for such revelations like this justifying the commentators fears. I think Bibi should do something, and that drastically.
8. #6 not incompetent
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (04.08.10)
Espionage always uses normative honest people who are actually traitors. You just have to admire their handlers skill. Look how Aldrich Ames succeeded in penetrating the CIA for so long. He succeeded not because the CIA was incompetent but because no one would suspect that a good ole boy like Ames could possibly betray his country.
9. #7: Media's role is not to serve the state but to monitor it
Dr Liberty   (04.08.10)
A real democracy needs a strong opposition as much as a free press - both increasingly missing in Israel.
10. Putting blame on press for incriminating IDF orders
Frodo   (04.08.10)
Let's shutdown all domestic media that is not in line with Israel's policies. Let's shutdown democracy.
11. Haaretz is an organization of enemy combatants
Jake   (04.08.10)
who should be listed as agents of a foreign entity, and prosecuted accordingly. They make of mockery of freedom of the press, aid and abet the international anti-Israel anti-Jewish Media Machine, and spit on the face of Israel at every opportunity they get. A special penalty should be reserved for the Backstabber-in-Chief, Amos Schocken.
12. #9 The Media has become a State of its own
Jake   (04.08.10)
Indeed, a State within a State, or rather an Extra-territorial State. Who will monitor this Mediocracy? P.S. Israel has no free press? They published your drivel, didn't they?
13. Did Kam "purchase" journalism career by stealing documents?
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (04.08.10)
Theft of 2000+ secret IDF documents over a period of years is not the act of a "whistleblower", since 99% of the documents had nothing to do with "lax procedures". The question is, did Kam, with no training or experience whatsoever in journalism, manage to obtain her almost instantaneous, post-military employment as a journalist as a reward for stealing IDF documents? Was she promised this in advance? Did Blau or Haaretz facilitate her finding that journalism job? That Blau is hiding in England, and that Haaratz is hiding behind the flimsy claim that the actual articles it printed were "cleared", says that there is a lot more to this story. The real threat to democracy and free speech is when "journalists" and news organizations rely on the massive theft of thousands of top secret government documents by active-duty soldiers to obtain "stories" - because the public in any country - USA included - will NEVER stand for this, and will vote to restrict press freedom as needed to keep this from ever happening again. WATCH.
14. #12: Free press: "They published your drivel, didn't they?"
Dr Liberty   (04.08.10)
No, they don't! Anything relating to the IDF documents that raises questions about legality of orders still gets censored.
15.  #1 The way the tv news channels
what a show   (04.08.10)
are trying so desperately to downplay this filthy episode this evening, trying to paint a picture of this sweet little girl with such pure (yuk) motives, makes it highly unlikely. The left at work as usual. Nothing new here. Been told to look down, and play demure as if she doesn't know what is going on. The left are sickening. This poor confused young man hiding out from the baddies in London...puke puke. Couple of traitorous scoundrels bent on betraing us all while being protected by their own. Plus ca change.
16. Did IDF chase journalist because of explosive files?
Dr. Dr. B. Lrnd ,   Washington DC   (04.08.10)
