1. Let’s be realistic.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (04.10.10)
The PA’s position is that it does not and will not recognize Israel as a Jewish state, and that roughly 5 million refugee descendants have a ‘right of return’ to Israel. What they are offering is to create a Palestinian state in the West Bank, and a temporarily binational state in what used to be Israel proper, which will soon dissolve into civil war. Of course, as long as Palestinians insist on RIGHT OF RETURN FOR “PALESTINIAN REFUGEES”, there isn’t going to be any two state solution. But even assuming that the Palestinians will offer acceptable terms, the two-state solution is not going to work. The reason at : http://xrl.us/berwte
2. The legitimacy of the Two states solution.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (04.10.10)
The Mandate (Article 5) stipulated that "no Palestine territory shall be ceded or leased to, or in any way placed under the control of, the Government of any foreign Power." This means that under international law, no one can force the Jewish State to cede any land that is legally recognized as belonging to the Jewish homeland. This renders the 1947 UN Partition Plan an illegal resolution. About the lies blocking peace in the M-E at : http://xrl.us/bfaec3
3. Zbiggy-Senile old fart grasping at straws
Joey Rose ,   Portland   (04.10.10)
4. A sensible plan
Resistor   (04.10.10)
But I would also add an international force between a Palistine state and Israel. There would be no more Israel using Pals as playthings for their IDF.
5. This lunatic has advocated the US shooting down IAF planes
A Nice Fellow ,   Montreal   (04.10.10)
He is Jimmy Carter's right hand man, a duplicitous pro-Arab, pro-Russian lunatic.
6. Peace is not piece
Ben ,   Monroe USA   (04.10.10)
What was printed here is BS to the nth degree. Israel is being asked to give up her sovereignty while the arab world is being given a free pass for it's actions of the past 62 years. If this is the best the US can come up with, better she should mind her own business. The proposal as listed here is GARBAGE.
7. Brzezinski's Peace Proposal
Alan Smith ,   UK   (04.10.10)
It's the first time I've ever heard an American talk sense. For far too long the abuse of the US veto has ensured the continuation of the Israeli occupation and settler enterprise in E.Jerusalem, the Golan and West Bank.
8. Brzezinski is despicable
Frank ,   Canada   (04.10.10)
Brzezinski is the main responsible of all current Israel and Middle-East problems. He is the one who advised Carter to put the Mullahs in power, he is the one who advised Carter to blackmail Israel into bowing to Arab ugly demands. Actually, this guy is responsible for all Israeli victims of the fake peace process.
9. heavy ordnance - igniting the people...
eporue ,   europe   (04.10.10)
would israel refuse the american president to do this ? could they ?
10. Inevitable and equitable - US has no choice
specs ,   ni   (04.10.10)
11. The Leftover Carter Admin Lunatic Fringe
Dan ,   Titusville, FL   (04.10.10)
Zbig is truly out of his mind. He wants to IMPOSE peace on the Middle East by fiat. Better he should drive a Fiat off a cliff.
12. moribund Jew hater
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (04.10.10)
Here he is, the retired and moribund Jew hater Brzezinski, like a ghost out of some rotten and forbidden past...He vomits again his antisemitic hatred... this man is a true buddy of our darling Hussein Obama... The Pals will be quick to lay out the red carpet for him...
13. Divide Jordan and Syria to implement
Ruth ,   Kafar Saba   (04.10.10)
the Mandate. Jews get West Palestina (West of Damascus. Arabs get portion of Jordan (according to Mandate). Arabs also get "saudi" arabia with Mecca as its capital. Jordan king will go to Arabia - his homeland.
14. Always Israel gesture required never Arab's
Marcel ,   Florida   (04.10.10)
It's never the Islamic world required to make bold moves and real gestures only the Jews are squeezed time and time again by this cabal of hell.! i smell a rat with this globalist elite con-man/spokesman for the new world dis-order and he should make a bold move and shut up.
15. All peace talks and agreements to date have been based on UN
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.10.10)
Security Council Resolution 242. What is proposed is to bypass 242 and impose a "settlement" while avoiding the principles on the basis of which 242 was designed, and first and foremost among them is the right of all states that took place in the conflict, i.e. June 1967 Six-Day War, to exist within secure and recognized boundaries. Israel's security, in this context, must only be determined by Israel and not outsiders who stood by and did nothing, absolutely nothing when Israel was the target for annihilation in 1948 and 1967. Furthermore, 242 does not mention even one time the need to set up an additional state in the region, something the US administration pushes. And finally, 242 does not mention at all concepts such as "Palestine", "Palestinians" and certainly not a "Palestinian state". Thus, it is time those who do respect the UN should adhere to this major UN resolution if they are truly interested to resolve the conflict. But I am simply not convinced such people are eager to do so. I am more convinced that friends and followers of Carter, Rev. Wright and Min. Farakhan would like Israel to be a bygone... and this is how their opinions should be treated...!!
16. That anti semite should go kibini mat
Sasha ,   Netanya   (04.10.10)
17. The Brzezinski path to Gog & MeGog
Asher Cain ,   Mitzpeh Jericho, Isr   (04.10.10)
Bible believers (Jewish and Christian) have long believed that there would be a massive final battle with Israel (and our G-d) pitted against the rest of the world...with the ignition spark being Jerusalem. Times being what they are, I'm glad to be living in Israel.
18. Zbigniew Brzezinski
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (04.10.10)
He seems to have forgotten Iran, hasn't he?
19. Give peace a chance - leave us alone
David ,   Shilo Israel   (04.10.10)
The Democrats' path of striving for peace can be likened to a robber threatening his victim unless they pay up. Their bullying tactics are just that, who do they really represent, certainly not our best interests?
20. brzezinski not trusted
alexi   (04.10.10)
brezezinski forgets that no force can protect israel beyond idf. In 1976 the UN force was pulled by U thant and US and UK did nothing when nasser massed 70,000 troops in sinai with purpose of destroying israel cheered on by arab world and PLO. egypt and israel had some credits of their own which made peace work when carter and brzezinksi butted in. brzezinksi has no credibility in israel now then or now. Peace has to be real and not forced as brezinski seems to think. froced peace will not work. Obama has even less credibility than carter so whatever he says will not wash. US or UN troops would only protect arab terror. Status quo will eventually force abbas to some deal. In the meantime, Israel should remove xband radar from negev as it is useless. Also obama has blocked certain weapons sales and restricted dimona techs from US courses or seminars. Bibi, you would be an idiot of the first order to acquiese to obama much as haaretz staff and blau either commit treason or enter ovens as policy. Six million were not enough!!??
21. Single gesture needed:Moslem world accepts Israel existence
Joe ,   Canada   (04.10.10)
No viable peace either agreed by or imposed on both parties can last (& be safe for Israel) as long as large fractions of the Palestinians & most of the Moslem world refuse to accept the very existence of Israel. And this refusal is doubly crucial since it is not only the result of geopolitical factors (possibly subject to compromises) but also of irredentist, irrational religious beliefs of the extremists who have the upper hand on the propaganda front & violent determination to impose their will. The US & the United Nations have demonstrated their inability to rein in rogue states committing atrocities & thratening peace such as Iran, North Korea, Myanmar, Soudan, etc....Under these conditions, for Israel to rely on the US, the UN or any other country to secure a peace against some powerful ennemies determined to "wipe off" Israel from the map would be utterly crazy. Zbigniew Brzezinski's plan, if implemented, would only provide a temporary political advantage to the US at the expense of Israel's security & survival. He should use his diplomatic talents to try evince the "Only a bold and dramatic gesture" needed from the Moslem world: to accept Israel. That might generate more Anouar Sadats instead of letting the likes of Ahmadinejad grow.
22. Its time for peace! He'll have EU suport
Ezra ,   London   (04.10.10)
23. Too bad
i ,   jerusalem   (04.10.10)
Were it that he was on that plane and not the Polish government.
24. Forced peace?
(04.10.10)
If this strategy is to work, I would like to know of one instance in the history of the world where a third party, located across the globe, has forced a plan and been successful. Peace as i know it can only be settled by both parties and must be on both terms. Obama has no chance. If he comes to Jerusalem to speak about dividing the city and giving control to "International Forces" he will have to come here with more than his usual security personnel.
25. Cabal from Hell speaks
Marco ,   Espana   (04.10.10)
It's never the Islamic world required to make bold moves and real gestures only the Jews are squeezed time and time again by this cabal of hell.! i smell a rat with this globalist elite con-man/spokesman for the new world dis-order and he should make a bold move and shut up.
26. smells like war
Rafael ,   Yerushalayim, Israel   (04.10.10)
Thanks for the sure-fire recipe for the next war. Enough with your peace garbage.
27. He meant More'INSANE MOVE'S on Israel's part.
Marcel ,   Florida   (04.10.10)
28. Known in USA as AntiIsrael
Lary ,   Israel   (04.10.10)
Brzezinski is known openly as a Jew Hater who has been Anti Israel as long as he has been in the public eye & before. He is not trustworthy on any rational issue. Look at his record.
29. What a bunch of lunitics
mike1947 ,   Raanana ISRAEL   (04.10.10)
This will never fly here in Israel. There is a collective sense of knowing what our red lines are and it is on this basis that the country has moved middle right. What does this mean. Well for one thing, we will never divide our capital. The Jews here have been pushed too many times, but we will not allow ourselves to be pushed by an anti-Semitic president and a jew and Israel hating UN which should be immediately dissolved in search for a peace loving international body that truly respects democracy.
30. # 9
Birdi ,   Israel   (04.10.10)
YES Israel can refuse.
