2. Rabbi is it true we illegally added to Torah?
Anon   (04.13.10)
...and what are we going to see in the future for breaking this law? Also what significance is the jainsim hooked cross that Israel once used like its brother the hamsah for protection? What can we learn from your experiences to stop it from happening again? We need the protection of G-d once again.

4. #2 selective misinterpretation
Yoni ,   Tel Aviv   (04.13.10)
you select to misunderstand the words and miss the point of the rabbi entirely fristly he did not say we illegaly added to the Torah and you lie and put words into his mouth. What did we add illegaly give an example. All rabbinic Torah is there to prtect the essence of the Torah. The issue is the appreciation for Torah in our generation has deteriated to a point that is lowere than low and you are an example of this
5. If only I understood!!!!!

Rabbi Lau lost his mother at a young age, and has experienced the worst kind of trauma and still, his enduring faith in God is steadfast. Why don't his followers listen to the last part of this interview - "if you don't like someone to do something to you, don't do to them"? Is it some sort of selective understanding? Rabbi Lau sounds like a peaceful intelligent tollerant man, I respect that - he should maybe teach others how to be proper Jews.
6. #5 Maybe we should listen to the signs.
Josh   (04.13.10)
I know a lot of Christians with the same type of faith and "bad luck" but I can't help questioning why we should believe God is actually supporting such a path. If you can't run your own life under God's blessings, how can you run others? It looks like God is being very clear and consistant with the pashoot.
7. #4 you asked for it.
Josh   (04.13.10)
One of millions of examples. Lehadlik Nir. Why would we say to God's face that He said something he never did. Even Rabbi Lau will admit it. Now if you put this in context that God instructed us to protect Torah and not allow additions yet we are now in his face acrediting something He never said to Torah and Him, I think you have a prime example. Worse God states not to have an alien fire lit on Shabbat. what would you call something outside of Torah that burns in a spiritual manner in the house on Shabbat? Alien? Hmmm. Esh zar! Zar m'od! Torah bPeh is really written text and the law of adding Torah bMiktav or even torah bPeh is the same. Not one word let alone libraries that take years to study. Devarim 4:2. The Hebrews knew the law and did it immediately. Explain this? They even lost many for not observing with the golden calf. Learned? LOL Only a person such as yourself can stand before a mountain of trash blocking the horizon and say you don't see anything. Blind faith in Rabbis is no different that Blind Faith in Jesus. Here is another. How about the sacrafice of food to the ghosts of the (fathers or mothers) on Sukkot for a return of a blessing. (Ushpanzim) Go find that in Torah. You can't except in the illegal part of recognizing ghosts as gods. Devarim 13 and 18 might be a good read for you.
8. 4# I was not selecting or misinterpreting.
Anon   (04.15.10)
I just asked question. What is the "essence of the Torah"? Is that like fruit-flavored grape drink? Is the protection of the "essence" the same as protecting the real Torah? The "essence" is the added? Can you violate Torah in order to protect the essence? Now after you say no, explain how the Rabbis temporarily disband Torah laws? Devarim 4:2 doesn't say sometimes.
9. 10 Easy! Yeshayahu Isaiah 53 is past tense-not JC predictive
