The truth shall set you free, says what exactly? Sometimes it is better not to say anything, or fudge a bit.
A good example and there are countless: girlfriend asks boyfriend, am I pretty? Ans> yes indeed. :-)
Truth: you are the ugliest person I have ever met. On a job, boss says, you are doing okay..in reality, you are terrible, should be fired if not for union. It's like "An eye for an eye". Gentiles like to use this biblical expression but have changed it's meaning. It really means, the punishment should fit the crime, that's all. You dont kill your daughter (Arabs) for sleeping with someone out of marriage. You don't threaten Jihad against all, caus they don't believe as you do. But on the other hand, by circumventing the real Shoah problems, did some rabbis by not telling the truth..do us harm?
Ex: telling Jews to pray in synagogues while the SS and police burned down the shuls with glee.
