31. Two states? Fine: 1) Israel and 2) Jordan. The capital of
Avigdor Ezrahi ,   Israel   (04.15.10)
the first is Jerusalem, and that of the other Amman. You see, "Palestine" was handed over to the British as a mandate by the League of Nations. What was handed to them was the whole territory that today constitutes Jordan, Israel, West Bank and Gaza. The British gave 78% of it - illegally, we should add - to a single family, the Hashemites from the Hijaz, or present day Saudi Arabia. Isn't 78% of the land, therefore enough for the Arabs to form their own independent state?
32. Michael Steiner #28: "Hateful morons?"
Steve Klein   (04.15.10)
You wrote, "If you oppose two states east of the Jordan...." Did you mean "west" of the Jordan. East of the Jordan river is the country of Jordan. Might I recommend you do a little homework. Study the history of the modern state of Israel, from the rise of Zionism to our time - study Israel's ancient history, etc. - before making this silly statement about "hateful morons." A moron refuses to learn the painful lessons from our history Mr. Steiner.

The Palestinian Islamist-Jihadists already have a large country called Jordan where 70% of the population is Palestinians. It would be appropriate for them to move there rather than encroach in Israel's tiny land.
34. So why are so many weapons requests "under review"?
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (04.15.10)
Axelrod is a political operative with no particular expertise in middle east or international politics. So when he claims Washington "remains committed to Israel's security" etc. is it really true? I'd like him to explain why, after claiming the US is committed to maintaining Israel's military edge, almost every Israeli request is being held up. Among those rejected or still "under review" are requests for Apache helicopters, bunker busters, aerial refueling tankers and cargo planes. (The F-22 isn't available to anyone outside the US.) Yet the weapons are flowing to Egypt and Persian Gulf countries. And one corrective: Kibbutz Sasa doesn't manufacture those armored vehicles. Sasa ships the armor to Wisconsin where they are installed on vehicles made by Oshkosh.
35. aids to a racist president trying politicize indepedence day
zionist forever   (04.15.10)
Israels independence day events are not occasions where the racist anti Israel US president should be ordering his men to start pushing his political agenda. This embassy is considered Israeli territory so if he is going to be there then he is there as a guest and not as a politician doing Obamas bidding. Independence day is not the time for politics it is a time for celebration only. As for the US bond being unshakable then prehaps he can explain why there is an unofficial US arms embargo on Israel? Why is the US constantly taking the side of Israels enemies and trying to harm Israel? This unbreakable bond is for voters only, especially important with midterms coming. The establishment know its all bullshit. The idea the US buys armor from Israeli kibutzim doesn't make us best of friends who are connected by an unbreakable bond.
36. Isn't Axelrod the person who lied to the public when he said
Avigdor Ezrahi ,   Israel   (04.15.10)
Obama didn't wish to humiliate Netanyahu? And this, after a full year of attempting to humiliate Israel's democratically elected prime minister and one of the most important symbols of Jewish sovereignty! Why should we have any respect for this person now, just because he claims to be Jewish?
