What you really mean is - tunnels to smuggle in consumer goods would be unnecessary. However, the siege is not to block consumer goods but the smuggling of weapons and materials to make war, like metal parts, petrol, cement, money, etc. No matter what happens in Gaza, it seems they always have a reason to complain - the true sign of a welfare recipient with a feeling of entitlement.
