why are they still in israel again?
2. #1 answer
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor   (04.20.10)
Because Mea Sharim is their home and they consider themselves Palestinians.
3. Deport them to anywhere
Yonah ,   Tel Aviv   (04.20.10)
They don't deserve to be in this country. Deport the worst of them to Gaza, send the rest to EU or US.
4. deport them!
Guy ,   the world   (04.20.10)
5. WHY DOES ISRAEL GIVE THEM SOCIAL ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS?
stude ham   (04.20.10)
do their social assistance cheques what they do to our flags... tear them up and burn them!
6. Displaying disrespect to the State's flag?
yehuda ,   israel   (04.20.10)
Where are we? the former USSR? Disturbing the police is one thing and if it happens to be via burning a flag, then so be it. However, it is not or should not be a crime in and of itself. That is, in a democracy.
7. I have an idea...
Marco ,   US   (04.20.10)
How about when one day we make peace with the palestinians we can give them Bnei Brak, then we will really see these people crying back to become part of a great and free nation like that of modern Israel.
8. #1 - 100% correct. They should be expelled.
Riki ,   Rishon   (04.20.10)
9. Fanatic Haridim
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.20.10)
They should return to Poland where they sect began until they believe that the Messiah has come. They don't belong here now anyway.
10. what I see
Feira ,   Amsterdam   (04.20.10)
the biggest threat to Israel is the Haredim.
11. I am confused
Eyal ,   USA   (04.20.10)
When they were talking about Bnei Brak, did they mean Neturei Karta Haredim or did they mean ultra-Orthodox Haredim? I thought the ultra-Orthodox Haredim believe in the State of Israel? Am I wrong, cause if I am, I will start protesting?
12. #3
P ,   Philadelphia   (04.20.10)
Patriotism is an ugly thing, but I don't think that people who choose religion over patriotism are much better.
13. neturei karta
jim mize ,   newark nj   (04.20.10)
the live in the medina that gives them freedom of religion, freedom of press, freedom to protest, whild doing nothing for the medina except take advantage .lets start a petition and send them back to poland and germany
14. #5
R ,   Jerusalem   (04.20.10)
Actually, contrary to popular (and uneducated) belief, Neturei Karta does not take money from the Medinah.
15. They're all Blaus. Different method, that's all
disgusted ,   Israel   (04.20.10)
16. what is the problem here?
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (04.20.10)
While I do not advocate burning flags, and I do not believe that burning flags is any issue, the bigger issue, which is not addressed is that of freedom to speak out against the government. What should be included here is what is the reason that this group uses a flashy attention getting manner to attract the media, yet the media ignores what ever is their message. What is the reason for their protest? What do they find faulty with our government? This should be told, now just their attention getting actions.
17. They cannot be deported. No one would
jason white ,   afula,israel   (04.20.10)
take them!
18. To number 2
Dikla ,   Poleg   (04.20.10)
The article is abour Bnai Brak and Beit Shemesh not Mea shearim! You demonstrate a very poor knowledge of geography and I suspect a poor knowledge of history. There are no Palestinians! There never has been a country called Palestine and there never will be! And don't start the refugee comments. My father was expelled from Aden in the Pogroms my mother from Tripoli I am an Israeli in my home! Just as one million Jews were expelled from Arab countries so were 800,000 arabs, a fair swap so get over it!
19. What is wrong with these people
Sherman ,   USA   (04.20.10)
What is wrong with these people? Why do they have to act so wicked? Why can't we all just get along?
20. FREEDOM OF SPEACH
Jeff ,   T A   (04.20.10)
Freedom of speech is open to any one who lives in Israel no matter what their back ground is. so let them do what ever they want to, by publishing their actions we are increasing their activities. why would you care what they do, when it is not done in front of you?
21. falsity
david ,   bnei brak   (04.20.10)
as the european newspaper enjoy to write that the evil israeli soldiers kills innocent children palestinians as well in israel they enjoy to blame haredis and settlers, exagerating everything and making everyone hating them without reasons. in bnei brak was all full of israli flags everywhere and shiurim of tora in honour of yom azmaut. shame to who make fake reports with political intents! the haredim are totally peacefull, come here and see with ur own eyes insted to believe to those comfortable lies.
22. Zionism is not Judiasm!
Karta ,   Palestine!   (04.20.10)
Zionism is not Judiasm
23. Double standard!
Vladimir ,   Jerusalem   (04.20.10)
Why doesn't police arrest the Arabs for the same "crime" - burning the Israeli flags? At least the Neturei Karta does not take the money from the State they do not recognize while the Arabs do take our money and spit on us.
24. #22 Sorry but Zionism is a part of Judiasm.
rebecca ,   Modiin   (04.20.10)
25. And all this is funded by your tax money
Avi ,   Israel   (04.20.10)
Seeing as they dont like it here , they are free to emigrate to Tehran where they will feel right at home.
26. People of Israel, I think it is time to implement...
Faruq ,   Ireland   (04.20.10)
To implement the "no loyalty, no citizenship'' policy, modified for Haredim. These enemies of the state must be treated just like anti-israel arabs.
27. There is no logic in what they do...
Paul ,   USA   (04.20.10)
Why would they choose to live in Israel, when they seem to despise it ? It would be easier for me to understand their actions, if they were a bunch of lefties burning flags ( like they do in the US ). But they do this for religious reasons, not so much to make a political statement.
28. Terrible!!
Other Avi   (04.21.10)
And the timing could not be any worse than on Yom HaAtzmaut. It's apalling, and shameful. It's bad and it hurts on any other day-but on Independence Day is taking it to a new low.
29. Haredi Treason
ik ,   USA   (04.21.10)
The Haredi must be made to understand that their very existance and their only reason for life and protection is dependent upon the state of Israel. Their actions are simply treasonous and they should be conscripted into the IDF or sent out of the State if they persist.
30. Social Assistance
Gadi ,   Israel   (04.21.10)
From what I heard many of them do NOT take social assistance, they consider it dirty money.
