1. Israel's needs to develop
Rosie   (04.23.10)
Israel needs to restructure their educational system. The present system is producing a youth that is becoming the enemy of their own people and their own land. Where is the love of your country, your land, history. Where are the beautiful values that the Jewish people have had for thousands of years. The modern youth of Israel knows very little about history, bible, Zionism, etc. It is all about EDUCATION, EDUCATION, EDUCATION.
2. brain washing young minds more like it
Avi ,   Israel   (04.24.10)
Teach them religion teaches them to hate others. Seperate state and religion.
3. Avi, its the mentality...many religious are very sweet down
Jon ,   Haifa, Israel   (04.24.10)
to earth people...many seculars, like yourself it sounds like, are fanatics. I am not religious so i can say this with some objectivity. The reason you are here is because of religion, not the holocaust. It is your ancestors 4000 year journey and life in the land that is reason for you to be here, otherwise you are a white occupier like the dutch in south africa. dont piss on the hand that gives you life. Religion needs to be molded into basics, into spirutality, into serving the people. But so does materialism, your religion.
4. #1 I agree 100% Education- not MTV so much, more JEWISH
Jon ,   Haifa, Israel   (04.24.10)
education, otherwise they are empty of being Jewish and instead become empty vessels speaking hebrew. Zionism/4000 yr History/Torah/Coomon sense jewish ethics need to be taught much more.
5. this is a very thin slice of Jewish youth
jo ,   israel   (04.24.10)
There are so many programs and trips for young adults to see Israel from its many perspectives. To derive any conclusions from this thin sliver of visitors is both misleading and irresponsible. To determine that shabbat and holidays are the connecting factor would require a far broader spectrum of visitors ranging from Birthright to the many JCC and high school programs. Surely those 3 visitors who pointed out Yair Lapid as their connection, could have just as easily pointed to the TV show Eretz Nehederet. This can only be seen as a trite, narrow minded, bogus finding that should not have gained such a great amount of attention.
6. #4 Jon, well said!
