Pollard was never tried for being a traitor, sorry. Pollard did nothing for personal gain, Kam did it for her money. Pollard never endangered American security and never endangered American lives. Kam apparently stole information that would have let Hezbolla and Syria win a war.

First of all, Kam was not, and is not a traitor, unlike Pollard. She gave documents to an Israeli journalist not a foreign government. And I have not read anything about her being paid money, unlike Pollard. Pollard deserves what he received, he was amd is a traitor through and through. Kam, on the other hand, is more akin to Dainiel Ellsberg who gave the Pentagon Papers to the New York Times thereby embarassing the US government and exposing the lies behind the Vietnam War. The stories written have shown the IDF clearly conspiring to violate Israeli Supreme Court rulings. Yet, this fact seems unimportant to most Israelis. Instead of questioning the Israeli political establishment and the lies of the IDF, most Israelis would prefer to believe their government, including the IDF and Shin Bet, even when it has been shown that their lying is endemic. When the Pentagon Papers were released to the public, many Americans also wanted to believe the lie even when confronted with the irrefutable truth. Many even denounced him for giving 'aid and cofort' to our supposed enemies. Yet, they also began to question the 'spin' their own government had been producing for years. They became disgusted with the lies and realized that the disclosed information forced them to stop relying upon government misinformation and that the facts were embarassing, not a disclosure of any 'state secrets' necessary for the security of the country. Frankly, I wish that a Pentagon Papers had been disclosed before the debacle of the Iraq War. It would have saved a lot of lives, both Iraqi and Anerican. So, now Israel is faced with their own Pentagon Papers. Yet, Israelis would rather 'kill the messenger' rather than examine the message. If your government has lied to you repeatedly, then what is the truth? Is it better not to know so that you can proudly, and stupidly, claim that your government and the IDF tell the truth and scupulously follow the law? Should an investigation of the real lawbreakers be demanded? Or will you continue to follow the demented path you are now on?

When you read all these crazed, nationalistic, stupid, ignorant, vile people calling Anat Kamm a traitor you wonder if they have ever though about what betrayal really means.
