1. THE EXISTENT SATUS QUO HAVE FEWER ISRAELI CIVILIANS KILLED!
ARIEL   (04.23.10)
IS IT AN EXPLAINATION WHY IT IS UNSUSTAINABLE? GO ON BUILDING THE COUNTRY! IGNORE THEIR ADVICE IF IT IS IN DETRIMENT OF ENPOWERING ISRAEL
2. Get out of Israel! your unwelcome here! Go make peace with
Bin-laden first!   (04.23.10)
3. Arabs have not done ANYTHING
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (04.23.10)
What kind of crap is this? What have the Arabs done? Have they opened up their cities to allow Jews in? Can I go to Ramallah, Jenin, etc with out being lynched? Let the Americans go to hell. They are looking only for their own benefit, not ours!!
4. Alternatives to status quo must be acceptable
Sam ,   Canada   (04.23.10)
The US is falling all over itself trying to find Israeli concessions for the Arabs who threaten war and terrorism if they don't get them. The US may be panicking but that doesn't mean Israel must panic along with it. If the Arabs don't like the status quo, they will have to offer acceptable alternatives. Threats from Arabs and other Muslims are nothing new.
5. Israel hasn't done anything....
Shalom ,   U.S.A.   (04.23.10)
What have the palestinians done to reciprocate?
6. Status quo not sustainable- So what !
DT ,   TA Israel   (04.23.10)
Who cares !? Jerusalem is ours and we should build wherever we want . The Palestinians never ever intend to make peace anyhow.
7. BS, there is no status quo
Eddie ,   london UK   (04.23.10)
Since Israel has already left Gaza, and most of the west bank, and frozen construction there, it is complete BS to talk of a status quo. Americans talk in orwellain language, perhaps it is part of being a superpower. They confuse Peace with ceremonies on white house lawns. Victims of terrorism do not change their perception, unless it is on American soil. even then, Obama is trying to change the nature of Ameica to Amarabia.
8. Its time for the UN to step in is stop this farce
(04.23.10)
9. Don't pressure Israel, it's not your colony
Gavriel ,   Maale Adumim, Israel   (04.23.10)
The Obama administration needs success in foreign affairs because at home they are loosing more and more supporters. The American President changed the usual arrogant tone with the Arab wold and tries to please America's new allies. The Jewish People never had allies. We can rely only on ourselves. If so .. why do we care of Obama and Clinton? She has been lying to us for several years before the elections. We don't need her advises anymore! US Jews should finally understand that the Democrats became dangerously anti-Israel and alarmingly pro-Arab. Israel's leaders should finally tell to Mitchell: don't come here again with ultimatums and don't try to beg for success!
10. The policy of land for peace.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (04.23.10)
Stop the policy of land for peace, which has really been concessions for terror We need to say clearly that there is a military solution to Hamas, that Syria must be isolated and that any big decision on a diplomatic agreement must be brought to a democratic vote in a national referendum." As to the disastrous Oslo Agreements it is a failure, from the start it didn’t have a chance. After the horrible mistakes he commited as a result of his total lack of vision, Peres should keep away of politics and the Media. As to the “Palestinian” demography : http://xrl.us/bewfbt
11. Conflict situations.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (04.23.10)
Peace was never achieved through concessions and demonstrations of flexibility – never In conflict situations, it has first of all been necessary to demonstrate resolve, and only afterwards to sit down at the negotiating table -- but not in the wake of concessions. When one makes unilateral concessions, the adversary realizes that he's succeeding. So if he is successful, he will continue doing more of the same. More at : http://xrl.us/bfe5xc
12. Yankee spy: Mitchell; Hi Yankee back stabber spy!
Bruce Stein ,   Chicago   (04.23.10)
Obama, the American Islimic representative in the White House. Americans owe the world an apology, Americans better awake from their arrogant stupor; imagine voting for anti American, even as good people warned you and you still could not see it; boy are you dumb! Kind of like a teenager going out with a complete loser, even as their best friend warns them…dumbbell!
13. Like telling Mitchell where to go next!! With Obummer.
Bernie ,   Erehwon, USA   (04.23.10)
14. Obama Administration is Ignorant & Dangerous CAN'T TRUST IT!
David P. ,   USA   (04.23.10)
Obama does not act in America's interests nor is he acting in Israel's interests either. He has impure intentions, we don't trust him, neither should you.
15. The status quo is INFINITELY better than Obama's plan.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.23.10)
Last time we kept hearing the mantra, "the status quo is unsustainable" was during the Oslo Disaster. Oslo certainly changed the status quo. Before Oslo, Israel suffered an average of about a dozen terror casualties annually. After Oslo, terror casualties skyrocketed into the tens of thousands. Obama wants to change the "unsustainable status quo" by stealing Jerusalem and our heartland from us, bringing rockets on all our cities and towns, trimming our waist to 8 miles, and inundating us with hostile Arabs. The status quo is INFINITELY better than Obama's plan for Israel. Tell Mitchell to go home. Let's have Sarah Palin visit us instead.
16. He's Outa Here
Dan ,   USA   (04.23.10)
Take heart, the Kenyan born, Muslim President of the U.S. will no longer be president after the 2102 election. Israel must resist being his waterboy.
17. Unsustainable?
Max ,   Washington DC   (04.23.10)
What is really unsustainable is the continued hatred and attacks made upon Israel by the Arab and Islamic Countries and Ballistic Missiles in the hands of terrorist organizations like Hezbollah and Hamas, not to mention soon to be nuclear armed Iran!
18. Mr Mitchell Remember to review what the prophets of old said
Psalms83 ,   Selah   (04.23.10)
.... about dividing the land.... the lord is watching what you are doing and will respond according to the actions you take.... the welfare of your own country is on the line...should you divide the land and jerusalem.....
19. Alternatives to status quo are lethal
Frank ,   Canada   (04.23.10)
20. After reading the headline...
R ,   Israel   (04.23.10)
Ynet person, thinking to self: What line can I pull out of this article that will get the most heated responses and thus increase ad revenues? Talkbaker (me), thinking to self after reading only the headline: That's insane, why the heck should we, the nerve of Mr.... Me, after reading the article: Nothing new, this is not news, again it's ratings! And why would google think I need to read an aliyah ad when I'm already here, don't they even read my search words?
21. Status quo can be great
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (04.23.10)
The status quo until 1992 was very good, and both Arabs and Jews lived well. But if the current status quo is not sustainable, a change should be made. For example, all the money know used to fund the Arab "refugee camps" allowing these people to live at the expense of others should immediately be transferred to needy people in Africa. Once the Arabs, will need to work, the problems will be solved. Another change can be that the Arab countries can allow these "refugees" to gain citizenship in the countries of their birth. Overnight there will be no reason for war.
22. Mitchell is not needed to start the talk
Frank ,   Canada   (04.23.10)
IDF can kidnap Abu Mazen and brings him back in Bibi office.
23. UAS digging their own grave !
Jaacov Baumann   (04.23.10)
For their apparent own profit, the USA wants to help Israels enemies to push the Israelis into the sea ! This way the USA is digging their own grave, because ''He who curses Israel will be cursed'' ! A USA on the brink of bankruptcy is as dangerous as a dictatorship under pressure : To save their skin, they would blow up the whole world ! Therefore, beware of the USA - its not at all an example of democracy, but more of an imperialistic power, run by a small group of voracious people who will do anything to keep and increase their power and to force their will first on the american citizens - then on the rest of the world. But this group who runs the USA is blind and foolish : By touching Israel ,they dig thir own grave and pull the USA into desaster ! Why ? The God of Israel is watching constantly over Israel - touch Israel and you touch God !
24. "There's been a good give and take." Who gave and who took??
Harry Wright ,   UK   (04.23.10)
What deceitful and disgusting liars. I haven't heard of a single thing that Abbas has given. I don't see any pressure applied on Abbas and he is the one refusing to talk. Wasn’t Abbas supposed to stop the incitement? The US should have the decency to make public what Abbas has given side by side with what Netanyahu has given otherwise that statement is fraudulent and designed to mislead or deceive to give the impression that there is some measure of fairness in dealing with the two parties.
25. Someone from the Israeli administration
Matityahu ,   Slovenia   (04.23.10)
should tell Mitchell that the status quo equals peace in the ME. But then again, the idiots appointed by the white house lack intellectual capacity. Hell, I'm even surprised they are able to read.
26. Status Quo
Shimon ,   Cincinnati, USA   (04.23.10)
OK, it's not acceptable to Israelis either. Here's an idea: Israel does what the US wants, and the Arab states do what Israel wants. Think any of that will happen? Don't fear Obama. He'll be a one termer only, and the next President will likely have a much more acceptable agenda. We've been around before the Arabs and we'll be around long after Obama and all the current crop of Arab leaders. Don't sweat the small stuff. Clinton and Obama are small stuff.
27. Until and unless the Muslim-Arabs accept Israel's right to
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.23.10)
be, to exist as the nation-state of the Jewish people; and until and unless they accept a peace agreement as the "end of the conflict" no accommodation of peaceful coexistence between Arab and Jew, between Israel and its Muslim-Arab neighbors is likely. It is time the American administration addressed this ONLY CORE ISSUE!!!
28. The US CANNOT be trusted! She backstabs her allies and
kisses her enemies ,   a$$!   (04.23.10)
29. Replacing unsustainable status quo with unsustainable ...
Zvi   (04.23.10)
Replacing an "unsustainable" but moderately secure status quo with a lethally unsustainable future status quo is a non-starter.
30. New poll: most Americans support Israel
Sue ,   Los Angeles   (04.23.10)
A 4/22/10 Quinnipiac University poll found that 57 percent of Americans support Israel. 44 percent disapprove how Obama is handling the Israel-Palestinian situation (67 percent of Jewish voters disapprove). http://www.quinnipiac.edu/x1295.xml?ReleaseID=1448
