2. Israel allows?
Resistor   (04.25.10)
What right has Israelgotto stop the child from going to Jordan? Israel left Gaza in 2007,and according to most TBers, has no control over Gaza-remember? Like it or not, Hamas was democratically elected with foreign observers present.
3. Let hamas terrorist's child go when Gilad can go too. Is it
Jae ,   Lynn USA   (04.25.10)
ok to let him rot, while saving the terrorist families life? Israel should talk this up in media " It pains us that our boy Gilad shalit has been in dungeon conditions for the past 1,500 days with no red cross visits no confirmation that he is healthy and no freedom whatsoever, yet we, the fools let this terrorist mans family members get the best care to save their lives. Please tell us we are not idiots and shouldnt trade a life for a life by letting the girl go on condition that they let Gilad go.
4. Shalit release
oxo ,   USA   (04.25.10)
Hope this Hamad guy is moved to realize that his daughter's life is precious to him, just as Shalit is also precious and missed by his loved ones.
5. what agreat democracy hamas has !
resistor my ass ,   los angeles   (04.25.10)
wow i am so impressed ! lol it was so democratic to watch the Hamas people throw their Fatah brothers from the roofs in Gaza to democraticlly take over peacfully and with full compliance of international are an example to human behaviour ! wow !!! lol
6. #2 - why didn't she leave via Egypt?
redbourn ,   Arad, Israel   (04.25.10)
7. She could have left through one of the tunnels. No need to
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (04.25.10)
ask Israel's permission, just drive her out, hamass controls the tunnels.
8. # 2
Birdi ,   Israel   (04.25.10)
You need to do some serious reading so you can grasp what you dont understand. Israel has control over the Erez crossing where the child & mother passed through . Israel is not controlling Gaza itself. Hamas is. Pity your hatred for Israel blinds you so much.
9. # 3
Birdi ,   Israel   (04.25.10)
Good point Jae.
10. # 5
Birdi ,   Israel   (04.25.10)
11. to #2 over no but anyone who goes through
ghostq   (04.25.10)
Israel teritory or above it must be identify and take care of. duh, gaza isn't jordan neigbor and many dictators were elected in democratic ways, it still doesn't mean it right, especialy when the next election they will shoot people who won't vote for them.
12. Will Hamas now save the life of Gilad Shalit and release him
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.25.10)
to be checked and treated at an Israeli hospital...??!!
13. A 3 year old kid didn't do anything wrong.
Zvi   (04.25.10)
It's really perfectly okay that she was treated in Israel and passed on to Jordan. I wish Hamas would allow Fatah families' kids the same option. Also, I wish that Hamas would allow Gilad Shalit the same option. Ironically, Barzilai Medical Center, where Hamad's daughter was initially treated, also attempted to save the life of Manee Singmueangphon of Thailand, who was murdered by Gazan Qassam fire on 18 March.
14. Shalit is also innocent
Matityahu ,   Slovenia   (04.25.10)
The only logical thing is this; no Shalit, no medical help, no electricity and water and carpet bombing.
15. Hamas Child in Jordan.
Anny Matar ,   Ramat-Hen, Israel   (04.25.10)
WHO WILL SHOW US GRATITUDE!!! Who will know about it? We always hope to win a few good points in this anti - semitic world. No one listens, WE ARE GIVEN BAD POINTS ONLY!! Anny Matar
16. What raw contempt that crew in Gaza inspires
Cameron ,   USA   (04.25.10)
No wonder I always wind up siding with the Israelis at the end of the day.
17. Would Hamas make a similar gesture
Vardina   (04.25.10)
toward Israel? What if Gilad Shalit would be in need for ugent medical care that can not be rendered in Gaza?Would they be prepared to send him to a hospital in Israel, or even in Jordan? One of the main differences between us and them is that we were brought to the world by human parents, not by the dvil.
18. #2:You see? You simply ignore the fact
Vardina   (04.25.10)
that inorder to pass to Jordan they need Israel's permission, otherwise they simply can't pass. You argue and make statements without even bothering to find out basic facts. Why am I not surprised?
19. You are absolutely right, but this is our
Alexa   (04.25.10)
weakness as Jews. They abuse our weakness to their advantage.
20. They murder our children and at the same
Vardina   (04.25.10)
time ask us to rescue theirs. Typical Arabs.
21. Sick Child
Lio ,   England   (04.25.10)
What a heartless bunch on here. How dare you!! the child is 3yrs old and has nothing to do with Shalit. Your hatred is palpable, even towards a 3yr old. You are all sick in the head.
22. # 16 for Cameron
Birdi ,   Israel   (04.25.10)
Smiles from ear to ear.
23. Like it or not, #2, Hamas is a criminal government
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (04.25.10)
Who cares if they were "elected" or not? Goldstone, Amnesty Intl and Human Rights Watch all conclude that the Hamas government has a policy of war crimes. There is complete justification to arrest Hamas leaders and put them on trial in the Hague for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Anybody who supports human rights has only one choice - to support the condemnation of Hamas war crimes policies. Otherwise, you're simply not a human rights supporter. --------------------------- Read it and weep, Gaza lovers - your pet enclave is due for an overhaul: "Whether or not attacks actually result in civilian casualties, they are in violation of international law, which also prohibits attacks aimed at spreading terror among the civilian population. The patterns of attacks and statements by members and leaders of Palestinian groups also indicate that they have no qualms about launching attacks against civilians and that they in fact carry out such attacks intending to kill and injure Israeli civilians. Such attacks constitute war crimes." Amnesty International report:ISRAEL/GAZA OPERATION ‘CAST LEAD’:22 DAYS OF DEATH AND DESTRUCTION July 2, 2009 ---- Hamas and other armed groups have publicly taken responsibility for a large number of rocket attacks on civilians in Israel... Leaders of Hamas and other armed groups have publicly expressed their intention to target Israeli civilians, seeking to justify their attacks as lawful reprisals for Israeli attacks against Palestinian civilians. Hamas leaders have also claimed that rocket attacks against Israeli civilians are justified by the "right to resist" Israeli occupation. Such statements, in the context of deliberate or indiscriminate rocket attacks on Israeli civilians documented in this report, are evidence of war crimes. Human Rights Watch ---------------- "... the report contains the clearest finding that Hamas and other militant Palestinian groups committed serious war crimes and possibly crimes against humanity. The acceptance of those findings by the Human Rights Council and the General Assembly has been ignored completely..." Richard Goldstone, Interviewed by Ha'aretz, Nov 13 2009
24. you dont understand mr. lio
lion ,   zion   (04.25.10)
it has a lot to do with shalit ! The Israelis have more mercy on hamas kids than hamas has on its own people when they send them to die as mar tiers and use them as human shield..please don't judge with your tea and biscuits the harsh reality of the middle east which is imposed on Israel every day since it was established. people who write here are relatives of people who died in terror attacks crafted by the same people Israel is assisting for medical care. you better think again .
25. to #21
OFer ,   Tel Aviv   (04.25.10)
It seems you don`t understand the greater picture. this is not about the child (she was taked cared of). but why don`t you continue and protect the other half a million childs over there that are not the daughter of a minister? and Hamas might I add... A terrorist group that won An election "The Arab" way. I wish that in your country the elections will get "kidnapd" by and extremist.... and then we will see how you will "Enjoy" your life... They wanted Gaza, they got it, and now they can`t handle it. BTW : I think they should release every palestinian that is in Israely jail. Let them deal with the murderers, Thifs, Junkies ETC.... And did you know that the actually get to go to school in our prisones? they get B.A degrees and ever M.A degrees over in the "slammer". maybe give Gilad Shalit the option get his B.A. while in "jail"?
26. This is a sad fact...
Lynne G   (04.25.10)
Not one child in the Gaza Strip or the West Bank has known what it is like to be free as they have been born under Israeli occupation. When will Isrsel release these children from bondage?
27. to #21 what about the hospital in ashkelom
ghostq   (04.25.10)
they also got nothing to do with shalit yet hamas still try to shoot rockets to that hospital. go check your facts.
28. Probably would have gotten better care in Barzilai, but ...
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (04.25.10)
... if that's the parents' choice, so be it. Since this is now a public matter involving Jordan's leaders and someone high in Hamas, no doubt Jordan will put its best people on the case.
29. They slaughter our kids, we save theirs, sound LOGICAL to me
Jae ,   Lynn US   (04.25.10)
common sense does NOT equal Jewish intelligence. We are good at some things, but "common bleeping sense is sure not one of them. How embarrasing that the leaders lack balls. Is there a surgeon in the house who can help them with their spiritual and ideological castration?
30. Israels leaders are spiritually and ideologically CASTRATED
Jae ,   Lynn US   (04.25.10)
No Logic, no sense, no justice. Down with the hoochey coochey Left. we vote in a rightist government we get a centrist government we vote in a centrists government we get a left wing government, we vote in a left wing government we get a destruction of the country. How is this shift possible? Money and power, both owned by the Left.
