1. Seems like wishful thinking on the reporter
Oren ,   Or Yehuda   (04.26.10)
Obama has no support in Israel. The way he treated Bibi has lowered his support even more and it does not matter what you think of Bibi, you do not treat a nation's leader half as badly as he treated Bibi
2. Yitzhak Benhorin, what do you mean?
m   (04.26.10)
When you write "presure on Israel and the Palestinians will continue", where, where is the pressure on Palestinians, until now it was only on Israel. Why be PC and evenhanded, these are bad and these are bad. In the end it's a lie, there was never any pressure put on the other side, at least not in the articles I have seen.
3. Obama has a 4% approval among Israeli Jews, and not by
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.26.10)
coincident. Obama began his relationships with Israelis by insulting them during his speech in Cairo a year ago in which he justified Israel's right to exist based on the Jewish Holocaust. In so doing he totally ignored the nearly 4,000 years of Jewish affinity to Eretz Israel (Land of Israel), the cradle of Jewish civilization. He also totally ignored the legal basis for the Jewish people re-establishing its sovereignty in the Land: Balfour Declaration, 1917; San Remo Conference, 1920, League of Nations decision , 1922 and then the United Nations resolution, 1947. Obama then proceeded to humiliate for a whole year Israel's prime minister and in so doing humiliating one of the most symbols of Jewish symbols of sovereignty in the Land. But he didn't stop there; Obama managed to put down Israel's international agreements with the US, Israel's laws, institutions and elected officials. And finally, he has called upon Jews, only because they are Jewish, to refrain from residing in certain villages, towns and even certain city neighborhoods. This demand is nothing short of a form of racism, anti-Jewish racism. Don't expect Israeli Jews to have any respect for this kind of a person who acts towards us in this way...!!

obama's has exposed his true nature ,in many aspects, but in regards to israel. this socialsit ultra liberal radical wishes to change the world as we know it. alomst orwelian in nature- a foe in a friend ,a friend is now a foe. almost every president who went against israel(truman, johnson ,ford ,carter, bush senior) ended up being a one term president. take a cue... nobama will finish his"career" and return to chicago to be what he knows best- a smooth, corrput " community- activist" thug!

If what you say here is true.. what a shame on Mr Obama... all we wanted is a peaceful future.. now the end is nearer... but still wish the good will win over evil...
13. Saying is different than doing in politics.
Nora Tel Aviv   (04.26.10)
Obama will not openly humiliate Netanyahu by openly pressing him to hold constructions in Jerusalem. But behind the scenes his presuring will go on Netanyahu will openly declare that he constructions in Jerusalem will continue, but in fact no new construction will be seen in Jerusalem. Once a politiciaqn, always a politician.
14. An opportunity
Yossef ,   Rehovot, Israel   (04.26.10)
If we could take what happened as an opportunity to re-adjust our relationship with the US and become less dependent it could be a good lesson. But I am afraid that we are too stupid for that, and we will fall again in the US trap, linking us with a wrong politic of Israel for israel. We need to develop our relationship with our arab neighbors independently of the will of the US. Anyway...
15. Amazing naivete
Thomas ,   Dixieland USA   (04.26.10)
Still don't you know that American Jewry is solidly fused to Marxism and other Leftist causes? No amount of Gulag, Stalinist purges of the Jews diminished their devotion to Marx. They will continue supporting Obama both with money, media-academia propaganda and all the influences they posses - NO MATTER WHAT. With due respect to the infinitesimal anti-Obama Jews.
16. Slightly different package. Same rotten contents.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.26.10)
It doesn't matter in the least if Obama puts on a new face. Slightly different package. Same rotten contents. Obama's record of hostility towards Israel and fawning obsequiousness towards Israel and America's enemies is incontrovertible. Israel needs to build ties with Obama's opposition, almost all of whom are sincerely pro-Israel. We need to help resoundingly defeat him in the midterm elections and in 2012. We are dealing with the worst president in modern American history.
17. OBAMA OUT IN 2012!

18. How can you trust a man who want to be president of a nation

19. new face
Lenny ,   USA NC   (04.26.10)
I wonder if the adage applies; "you can tell when he's lying if his lips are moving", I think there's a good chance? Thanks, Lenny
20. A change in tone does not mean a change in policy
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (04.26.10)
The "rock solid" support for Israel's security is voiced even as Israel finds its requests for military hardware held up for "review". Jones, Mullen and Gates repeatedly remind Israel of what it must not do, and what it must do. There's no pressure on Israel's Arab neighbors for any gesture toward Israel, no pressure on the Palestinians who sit on the sidelines inciting to violence and imposing a boycott on Israeli goods made over the Green Line. Anyone think Abbas will enter the White House via the service entrance? Even "peace partner" Egypt refers to Israel as an "enemy" with nary a word from the White House. And America's Jewish leaders? They're reminded that they could lose "access" if they're too vocal in their criticisms. So most remain quiet.
21. dont trust Obama....he will will try to fool everybody..and
Cathy ,   Hawaii   (04.26.10)
his attitude toward Israel is negative.
22. #8 hit the nail on the head!
The Other Ron ,   Pennsylvania, USA   (04.26.10)
Obama just wants the Jewish vote for the Dems in November. Yeah, the Jewish leaders probably did 'threaten' their votes/money, but so what? He'll say things that we want to hear right now an then will be back to being himself, which is not good for Israel or Jews. And I don't think his was are good for the US either!
23. IF OBAMA REALLY WANTS TO MAKE AMENDS...
Debbie ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.26.10)
HE CAN SEND POLLARD HOME!!!
24. fool me once shame on you
Nathan ,   Israel / USA registe   (04.26.10)
fool me twice shame on me
25. Face it, Obama can't face the Pals - they'd totally melt
Brian Cohen ,   PeoplesFront ofJudea   (04.26.10)
Obama's gotta be really frustrated by the Israeli-Palestinian insolvable puzzle. However, you notice there's no public pressure on the Pals for concessions or even to get them to actually show up for peace talks. The Pals are so divided, so pathetically weak from years of infighting and mismanagement, that there's almost nothing Obama can do to get them to come to the negotiating table. And even if they did, only the West Bank is represented, not Gaza. If Abbas and Netanyahu would sit down in total agreement tomorrow, they still couldn't sign a peace treaty without Gaza. It simply wouldn't work. Obama seems to be finally waking up to something he should've known two years ago before he got into office. Israeli-Palestinian peace ain't gonna happen on his watch. After trying to face down the Israelis for nothing, Obama now realizes he strongarmed Israel for nothing. The Pals simply are not ready yet. His real challenge is to mend the unmendable Fatah-Hamas rift. That, also, ain't gonna happen anytime soon. Peace? It's a nice thought, but I don't see it on the horizon. Yet.

30. To "MONEY" (# 5). You are both right and wrong.
flyingdoc57 ,   Florida, U.S.A.   (04.26.10)
Your comment "American Jews are IDIOTS! obama has stolen your VOTES & MONEY" is partially correct and partially incorrect. It is certainly true that approximately 75% of American Jews are political "idiots". They do not vote for 'people'; they vote solely for 'Party'. In that regard, all the hype about the large majority of American Jews having "voted for Obama" is pure rubbish. They voted for the "Democractic" candidate. Had McCain or anyone else (including Osaba Bin-Laden) been running on the Democratic ticket, every single one of those same Jews would have voted for him. In that regard, Obama didn't "steal" their votes. Fact is, Obama couldn't have avoided their votes no matter how hard he had tried.
