Intelligence sharing about Iranian nuclear programs and Hizbullah cells by way via CIA middle manning, permission for Israel to use Saudi and other GCC state airspace, and other limited security cooperation are certainly feasible. Beyond that, the dramatic and far-reaching normalization measures that Ms. Reef proposes are entirely wishful thinking. The GCC states rejected any limited points of engaging Israel as the US had begged them to, such as permitting El Al jets to use their airspace en route to India and the Far East, after Netanyahu imposed a building freeze on all Jewish communities in the West Bank. The Sunni Arabs are fearful of Iran and will welcome any country's effort to counter Iranian power, but will not thank that country and recognize it as a permanent entity in return.
