It's interesting that Iran said that Israel was defeated in the war with Lebenon. Wishful thinking actually. The first time that Israel is defeated the country will cease to exist. Isreal wasnt defeated but it failed to acheive the objective set by the war. Furthermore Hizbullah succeeded to strike in the heart of Isreal the first time it happens on loses 20 hiz fighters vs 100 isrealis military personnel , add to it since then isreal trying to defuse the successes of hiz and only do the reverse add to it the 2006 war increased hopes and demands to combine armed resistance with diplomacy making the arb learders who are the actual protectors for isreal in a messy situation ... if u cal that a win then celebrate...

the stupid gov. Israel had at the time set goals that were un achievable phsicaly, therefore from the begining dooming any victory. Than, realizing what it takes to do the job right, (sending in the IDF devisions) they bulked at the human life cost vis a vis the potential achievements, and made the second mistake, of moving too little too late. That is what happened, it was POLITICAL FIASCO, not a military defeat or victory. All that is being said, the next round will be much more decisive, therefore Syria and Lebanon should be ware of the results of letting the Iranin dog (hiziz) loose, it will bring their destruction.

either you were looking at the lebanese army casualties (28), or some jihadist propaganda, because hezbollah lost a lot more than "20 fighters": it lost its place in the lebanese government and most of its political support, it lost control of the territory south of the litani river along the israeli border, it lost its arsenal of rockets, and it also lost 1/3 of its fighters! (idf estimated 600 killed, un and laf reported about 500; even hezbollah has admitted 250 killed). and nasrallah hasn't even been able to leave his bunker in 4 years. hezbollah has rebuilt much of it, but can they (or lebanon) afford another such "victory"?
