Their threat is closer home to Israel than most people think. Iranian armies called Hezbollahists and Hamasists are stationed North and South of Israel. They are confident that the thousands of rockets they have supplied their tentacles can ravage Israel. Israel's enemies are no longer using planes but rockets to attack Israel. Israel's planners and strategists would have to plan modern warfare that would be lethal and effective. It must outmatch the performance of 1967. Such performance is Israel's greatest deterrence against its enemies.

Jews are Jews regardless of whether they are converts or not. No one can change that. Someone is part of the nation of Israel if they were born Jewish or converted appropriately. The nation of Israel is defined by our religious beliefs and not some ethnic identity other nations regard us by. Sephardic, Ashkenazi, Ethiopian, Mizrahi, etc...we are all Jews because of our religious definition and not an ethnic one. And we are all the same people. Since Israel was founded LEGALLY as a Jewish state I have a strong bond with the nation and it's Jewish citizens. However, from a historical perspective Israel could argue its legitimacy as well, and much more effectively than the Arabs currently residing there. But as I said the country was founded by legal means and was intended as a homeland for Jews. As a Jew, whether my ancestors were converts or not, the state was intended to protect people like me and offer us a home and refuge. It was intended for the nation of Israel and I am a part of this nation. Not everyone defines themselves ethnically or racially. The nation of Israel has its own criteria for membership. That is the reality.

The American population by and large DO consider Iran to be a real threat to the region and to US troops, they DO consider Israel to be an ally and want it protected, and DO feel war should be an option.
