Iran has signed the NPT, whereas Israel has not. The NPT signatories without nuclear weapons promise not to develop them. If Iran drops out of the NPT somehow, then so be it (and they will have to face the consequences). However, comparing a country that makes such a promise (Iran) with one that does not (Israel) is not a double standard.

In basic law, everything is about intent. A person can own a gun if they are responsible and need it for protection. Another person who is psychotic and threatens people does not deserve one just because another has it. Israel does not threaten others with nukes, it does not threaten to wipe States of the map, it does not routinely slaughter their opposition en masse or aid terror proxies across the world. Plus, any nuke capability is only kept as deterrence. A-mad is just made that the deterrence still exists and wants it erased to help Arabs continue their genocide from 1948.
