1. Doubting US's Will would be more appropriate (end)

2. With Obama...
Jeff ,   Dallas, Tx   (05.06.10)
With Obama we here in the US are more like a slow donkey... dont you do it or he will file sanctions on you...like ouch...havent worked for IRAN yet.. Can anyone say Joke? God bless Israel
3. Deterents
mark ,   canada   (05.06.10)
Well, you know, the way I see it, is that there is nothing wrong with the other Arab states standing up against Iran. They however, don't want it to be seen that they are offending another mozzle. Heaven Forbid. They would rather shake hands in a lady like fashion and smile. Always hoping that the "Infidels" pull their chestnuts out of the fire, they can then curse the "Infidels" of entering "holy" ground. HA>
4. Emperor has no clothes
Dan ,   Titusville   (05.06.10)
It must be obvious to even the dimmest of wits that Obama is another Jimmy Carter. Carter's belief in his Jesus return ushered in the modern age of islamic terrorism. Now an Atheist Obama believe that if Israel commits national suicide or he can destroy Israel's defenses allowing the Muslims to sweep in and slaughter Jews that he will get another Cracker Jack box with his Nobel prize inside. To acheive this Obama will allow Iran to become a nuclear power while pressuring Israel to eliminate any nuclear wepons it might possess. Thus when Iran attacks Israel Obama , as he has stated publicly, will "bear witness" as Jews are again exposed to another holocaust at the hands of the Muslims who learned their craft at the feet of the Nazi's. Obama MUST be resisted and we must push back against his administration's policies.
5. The Iranian nuclear program is nearing completion!
Ron B. ,   Lod   (05.06.10)
According to news reports, U.S. intelligence agencies believe the Iranians may have enough nuclear material to produce a bomb. The world has condemned these activities and must awake to the threat Iran poses to all of us. Iran is not only a regional threat; it threatens the entire world. It is the no. 1 state sponsor of terrorism. It sponsors the world’s most vicious terrorist groups, Hamas and Hezbollah. Together, Iran and its terrorists are responsible for the deaths of Americans in Lebanon in the 1980s, in Saudi Arabia in the 1990s, and in Iraq today. You cannot appease Iran : http://xrl.us/orpxu
6. the strong horse is pooped.... !
Joe   (05.06.10)
Delayed, watered down, ineffective, worthless sanctions, today's America. This brand new "soft" approach, policies from a brand new Govt., are a disaster of huge proportion. Two midgets on the world scene; Kim Jong & Ahmadino are fast becoming the new giants on the planet. Standing up to the tired horse would have been a terrible mistake not to long ago. With large armies, loaded with rockets/missiles and nuclear technology made available for cash to other despots, they decide how to run their "affairs" with a Syria, a Fatah, a Hezbollah, a Hamas and the like. America?, well it has it's hands full in the UN and abroad. The new President is the equivalent of 2 Jimmy Carter ........ !It's effectiveness on the battlefield, its days of glory, dissipated. ..Korea, Vietnam, Lebanon, Somalia, Afghanistan .....! Today a cheap rocket or missile can disable or worse a 5-10 billion $ carrier with a few thousand men aboard. Instead of holding on to friends, this administration is concentrating on Syria, Libya, Lebanon, Fatah, and a few other rough spots, discarding it's best friend and asset, Israel. They are other powerful players who would be interested in a rapprochement, a closer relationship with us. Our leaders should pursue these alternatives and gradually curtail somewhat it's shuttle to Washington and look for new routes to prosperity and survival.
7. Obama is doing what he is supposed to be doing, which is...
Persian CAT   (05.06.10)
to protect and advance the US interests. The Wiesenthal type Israel-firsters want him to sacrifice those interests so that the Zionist Apartheid regime can go on with occupation. The fact is the American people have awaken from a Zionist-induced coma and realized supporting the Apartheid regime policies damage their national interests. No amount of op-eding, whining and crying wolf will change that fact. The US with Obama in the WH is more respected, more integrated with the international system and in a much better position to lead. Israel, on the other hand, is more isolated and exposed as a threat to the stability of the region and the world at large.
8. Excellent article
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.06.10)
Should be required reading for the United States Department of State and the current administration.
9. Ah yes, it always boils down to the Americans, eh?
Cameron ,   USA   (05.06.10)
Amid their constant sneering, badmouthing, distancing, and self-serving behavior, the global community wrings it's hands, and wonders: why won't the Yanks save us? You know damn well why. Because, collectively, you apathetic, global lot want to sit on the fence and watch the Yanks fully assume the burden in risk, treasure, and blood while you practice avoidance, and any real effort & commitment yourselves. We Americans have grown as cynical about you collection of selfish, lazy, and faithless global citizens, as you have about us. Does you some real good to sit in the sun, and sweat it. To Hell with you all out there. Isolationism looks more appealing by the month
10. #9 Cameron, USA
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (05.06.10)
Your Muslim in Chief is not even willing to impose the mildest sanctions on Iran. So don't you tell us what we have to do.
11. To: Cameron at No. 9
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.07.10)
I think you've misread the intent. The point is that the United States is the most powerful country in the world. Arguably, the world's only super-power. The trick is in learning when and how to wield that power properly. Isolationism was not the answer in the 20s and 30s, and it certainly isn't now. Keep in mind that the world has gotten very small and crowded, and there are many people in the world who do not wish us well. Turning away from them or appeasing them is not the answer. Crushing them is.
12. #7 persian kitty
Brazen   (05.06.10)
your typical arab mentality, spewing anti-semetic bull on israeli news sites makes me sick. How come your great nation iran doesnt allow us to debate freely, because your illegitimate government is AFRAID of the iranian people learning TRUE history and not your arabized version one day you give up this hatred. By the way have you ever met a jewish person face to face?
13. military provisional government
zichron   (05.07.10)
If necessary the usa will move to a military provisional government with fifty thousand nuclear weapons an army of twenty million and wartime rations . Obesity and crime will plummet as will open decadence and indulgence .
14. To: No. 12
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.07.10)
She might have. I know lots and lots of Jews that own Persian cats. Me, I'm a dog person. But Persian Kitty-Kat, in addition to having lost all her teeth, has been completely declawed. Poor widdle Persian kitty kat. The carpets are nice, though.
15. See PJTV's New Videos - MSM Not Reporting
Dallas ,   Canada   (05.07.10)
Lebanon, Syria and Iran are putting the whole ME in a no-win catastrophe in the making, while everyone talks about Israeli houses. Obama is prepared to sit back and let the whole region be destroyed through his negligence. This is beyond criminal - the US has the power to defuse this and will sit back and dither. This will change the world. Watch the 3 new interviews.
16. Albrecht, we don't have a "Muslim in Chief"...
Michael Hess ,   Charlotte, NC   (05.07.10)
...but we do hear your hatred of Americans and our President. So y'all keep it up. Doubt that America has any power. Knock yourselves out. Keep on acting as if nuclear weapons are the only weapons platform out there. Do you really think trying to get a handle on nuclear weapons proliferation has anything to to with the latest and greatest in weapons in testing and development? Don't call us, we'll call you.
17. Ridiculous article.
k1w1 ,   NZ   (05.07.10)
"...Arab leaders privately tell us they’re losing sleep not because of the Jewish state but because of the real-time nuclear threat unfolding next door in Iran - which, they fear, America lacks the resolve to stop." Yeah, right! Arab leaders know, as well as everyone else, that even if Iran were trying to aquire a N.Weapon they are at least five years away from doing so - at best - and that, even if they do get one, they wouldn't use it to attack Israel knowing the instant and massive retaliation that would be visited on Tehran. They also know Iran would hardly transfer any hard-earned N.Weapon to some terrorist outfit to use knowing that such a transfer would be discovered and the resulting retaliation would be the same. More likely, the Arab leaders are pandering to their domestic market with their "public anti-Israel bluster" while secretly sucking up to the obvious "strong horse" to ensure they're not next in line for some U.S. and Israeli aggression. After all, if Iran's poor humanitarian record is a reason to attack them (as the opening paragraphs of the article suggests) then some of those Arab leaders should be worried, since their own record in that department is even worse than Iran's. And the authors' penultimate paragraph! Shimon said this, Shimon said that, Shimon said something vague and ambiguous about the NPT and "regional peace". What the... The only amazing thing about this article, is that it took two people to write such a short piece of nonsense.
18. Damned if you do, & damned if you don't, Sarah
Cameron ,   USA   (05.07.10)
What a "no win" for the pro-active in rhe current global environment. Withdrawing inwards & Isolationism does have it's attractions. Impractical, obviously, but oh so tempting. Yes, stepping on the Mullahs is needful, but with Obama as Pres., the logistical difficulties for Israel, and the global howl for apathy, decisively dealing with this issue is like pulling teeth. Still, my hat is off to the Persians, for they have played this matter well with all the global powers that be. We may be forced by sheer necessity to break Iran in the near future, but credit them for swinging it up to this point. If you have a crystal ball, peer deeply into it, and tell me how the ball will roll.
19. #7 and #12&14
k1w1 ,   NZ   (05.07.10)
Persian CAT hit the nail on the head, and the replys from Brazen and Sarah B are the typical response expected from a nail getting hit on the head. Ouch! Truth hurts, eh?
20. Micheal Hess, why do you bother...
Persian CAT   (05.07.10)
responding to this puny bigot, Albrecht, whose only reason to be in Germany is to polish his xenophobia and bigotry?! For this piece of racist piece of trash an 50-cent mousetrap will do.
21. k1w1, this is satire not analysis.
Persian CAT   (05.07.10)
My litmus test is when Zionist talking head start by saying, "Arab leaders" tell us this and that "in private". I always try to imagine the "private" situation between these folks and the "Arab leaders", who whisper their real thoughts about Iran in these people's ears, but I fail to come up with a good one! Can you?!
22. #9: Cameron.
k1w1 ,   NZ   (05.07.10)
You might call it "isolationism", but others from the global community would call it "getting the hell back to your own country and stop invading and interfering in the sovereignty of other states". And that shouldn't be terribly difficult for the US to achieve: It's just a matter of following the principles of the U.S. Constitution, as the founding fathers intended. Oh, and don't worry yourself too much about how the rest of the world might manage without the US poking it's nose into everyone’s affairs. You'd find you aren't quite as important as you seem to imagine you are. In the meantime, some of us in the global community are happy to sit back and watch the US slowly bleed itself dry with pointless adventures around the globe, while others just believe the American trash talk about the US being the be all to end all, about the US being the policeman of the world and ridding the place of drugs and terrorism while bringing democracy and freedom to the downtrodden and the oppressed everywhere, and they would probably be somewhat bemused to see you now moaning and complaining about your self-appointed task as soon as things start getting a little bit difficult. Also, given the fact the US spends nearly as much on it’s military as the rest of the world combined, and given the vast resources at its disposal, we’re wondering why you haven’t achieved more than the mess you’ve got yourself into over in Iraq and Afghanistan - not to mention the fact your democratic neighbour (Mexico) is daily sliding closer to becoming a narco-state as wealthy, powerful drug cartels take control of the route to their massive North American market [where their product causes more death and destruction in one day than bin Laden could imagine inflicting in ten years]. Good luck getting all that sorted out.
23. #21, Persian CAT.
k1w1 ,   NZ   (05.07.10)
While asleep, perhaps, or after taking drugs. Or are we too cynical? Perhaps these fellows really are (in real-time) buddies with Arab leaders who privately whisper their true thoughts into their ears... Nope, I'm cynical. The image I keep getting of that private situation is just so obviously photoshopped!
24. Americans turn isolationist
American ,   USA   (05.07.10)
With American debt, and an isolation streak in the U.S coming, coupled with a right wings in Israel that disses America, Americans are thinking about a more isolationist policy. Israel can fend for itself. It doesn't listen anyways. So what about strong horse crap. We were and still are the most powerful in the world. We will still be if Iran goes nuclear. So what? We got thousands of them. Fend for yourself
25. To Israel: Nuke Their 31 Nuke Sites ASAP
Dav Lev ,   Burbank, CAUSA   (05.08.10)
It's only a matter of time, before the Final Jihad, the "Mother of all Battles" breaks out between Israel and it's enemies. The US under Obama has lived up to the pre-election predictions, he is an Arab lover. His background was that of a priviledged white..prep school to Harvard. He used (typically) Jews in Chicago, their money and political experience. He is smart, but terribly naive. His inactions will cause hundreds of thousands of M.E. deaths, both Jew and Arab. In Nov, we must vote Republican..weaken him totally. We need strong pro-Israel/USA legislators, not wishy washy and fence straddlers. Israel should pre-empt..take out Iran's Rev Guards, nukes sites, then Hamas/Hez installations., collateral damage notwithstanding. They hide in mosques and homes..damage is on them., Goldstone., are you listening?
26. Ah, a cup of spite from Australia's lil brother, eh #22?
Cameron ,   USA   (05.08.10)
Pardon me for taking a moment to grin & sneer at the s*** nothing that is New Zealand. You'll sing a different tune when those Chinese warships start circling around your island & Australia. You do realize that the Chinese intend to turn much of the Pacific into their "sphere of influence", don't you? Enjoy.
27. dont care
jackson browne ,   manchester uk   (05.08.10)
the american people dont care what happens to israel and see jewish influence on their country as a serious problem. they blame israel for their terror problem and blame jewish interests in their media for pushing lies about iran to sell another war to americans.polls that claim american support for israel are summarily dismissed as jewish propaganda and further proof of jewish media manipulation
28. k1w1, the only plausible explanation is that...
Persian CAT   (05.08.10)
these two are members of the "Arab leaders" harems, and all the whispering happens after the cigarettes are lit :)
29. #27 - You presume to speak for us, oaf?
Cameron ,   USA   (05.08.10)
Shouldn't you be busy kissing Muslim bottoms, and giving what's left of your island to smiling Arabs, mate?
30. #26. Oooooo...the Boogyman's coming.
k1w1 ,   NZ   (05.08.10)
Would this be the same Boogyman who already owns USA? Haha. And you might as well save your silly grin and sneer for New Zealand. I doubt there are too many NZers who would take that too hard. So, yes, I will enjoy - the beaches, the mountains, the forests, the rivers and streams, the clean air, and all in a country the size of California with just 4 million people living here. Yep, I’ll be thinking of your sneer tomorrow when I’m enjoying some of that - probably the beach, though I’m not sure yet if it will be a Pacific Ocean beach or a Tasman Sea beach…
