1. WELL, NG IS TELLING THE TRUTH AS IT IS DAMN IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. Syria NEVER had a border with the Sea of Galilee
The Dude   (05.08.10)
In the extraordinarily thorough "Six Days of War" written by current Israeli Ambassador the USA, Michael Oren. He clearly states how after the 48' war of independence, there was an area of 3 meters separating the shore from Syria. While it is indeed spitting distance, it still does not give any right to the Syrians to claim any of the Kinerret water. Also considering how badly Syria has mismanaged and destroyed it's own water sources and helped essentially destroy the Euphrates, they don't have much right to discuss about 'their' need for water. They need to learn how to actually value something instead of just trying to destroy things. It's like a greater analogy of the Middle East. Israel creates water (desalinization) Syria destroys it, Israel wants quite, Syria wishes to expand to "Greater Syria"...
3. Wow...Anti-Semitic Scapegoating Never Ends!
Charles R. ,   Windsor, Canada   (05.08.10)
In Europe, the Jews were blamed for kidnapping Christian children, killing them and using their blood for baking Matzah. Every disease, including the plague were attributed to the Jews and in terms of water, the Jews were accused of poisoning wells. Now that the Jews have gone back to their biblical homeland, Jews or Zionists have been blamed for AIDS and have been accused of killing Arabs in order to harvest organs to supply the black market for organ transplants. In terms of water, now the Jews are accused of stealing it! It's times like these that I like to remind these libelous accusers of Jews of what Exodus 23: 1-3 says: Thou shalt not utter a false report; put not thy hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou bear witness in a cause to turn aside after a multitude to pervert justice; neither shalt thou favour a poor man in his cause. For all those who either start a refresh libel or follow a crowd that hates Israel based on a previous blood libel; you'd be best to look in the mirror! To curse Israel based on libels will only bring G-d's curse upon you!
4. National Geographic Appeases Terrorists
Hinda ,   SF Bay Area   (05.08.10)
This once highly regarded magazine that never was against facts have in recent years been joining the ranks of other publications in libeling Israel in their articles. This is just one of the others that have been published such as the "Exodus of Christians in the Holy Land." Many have written against this article but only one was published and many others (mainly from Arabs themselves who if one did a search on the name - you would see them pro-Hamass/Hezbollah and anti-Israel). Biased? You Bet! Just like how the BBC was once the beacon of truth and freedom to those under Nazi rule - has joined the same partners who were in bed with the Nazis - the very own Muslim Brotherhood. Sad that such a pious periodical such as the National Geographic once was would appease those who wish to destroy us all.
5. What other word do you prefer to "stealing", Yitzhak?
Marcos ,   Massachusetts, USA   (05.08.10)
I thought it was well known that Israel draws water from aquifers in the occupied West Bank without permission from the Palestinians. If you don't want to call that "stealing", what other word would you suggest?
6. National Geographic Has a Number of Anti-Israel Articles
lynne ,   Austin, Texas   (05.08.10)
...and I was shocked to discover the tone of the articles and the outright lies and distortions. I am a teacher and used to buy National Geographic for myself and my classroom, but NO MORE. I don't trust ANY of their articles now. But I do have a use of National Geographic: I use it as an example of dangerous and dishonest media ---media that promotes hatred against a country.
7. I guess I'll be cancelling my subscription

I give it 2 years before the marines are occupying israel to protect christian pilgrims from america and christian holy sites.
9. Hey ...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.08.10)
Life's a bitch when you start wars and lose them. Lose the right to complain about everything else right alongside, too. Turkey steals almost all of Syria's fresh water supply. No photographs of that? Didn't think so.
10. I guess the truth hurts sometimes
John ,   Boston, USA   (05.08.10)
11. again this makes total sense, because
AY_Lamb ,   Globestan   (05.08.10)
The "knee-Jerk" hasty Bush-plan to "reign-in" Middle Eastern fanaticism by deploying occupation forces throughout the region is learning "on the fly". These water issues are distracting and plaguing American military leaders in Afghanistan and Iraq as well and now they are projecting their frustrations on Levant countries. I mean this water thing is a "drag" a "bummer" why can't you people just be like Americans and share water fairly and equitably?? that's what they are thinking, problem is the area is thoroughly/comprehensively "arid" to a much greater extent then any clime in America. Oh well live and learn I suppose. The wheel just keeps on turning! Ha!!
12. Bovine scatology!!!!
oxo ,   USA   (05.08.10)
This is like saying the USA is stealing water from Mexico (the Colorado exits the ocean in Mexico). The fact is whoever has control of water is naturally going to sustain themselves first...this has been going on since the beginning of time. The problem with the exhibit is that is pure political propaganda attacking a nation...in this case Israel, and very short on actual facts.
13. Israel takes on National Geographic...
Michael Hess ,   Charlotte, NC   (05.08.10)
...oh how I'm lovin' this one. Every person who has ever researched water issues and the Israeli-Arab conflict knows that every word of those captions depicts factual reality. There is nothing, and I mean nothing, that Israel will be able to do to change those facts. Well, except of course to stop stealing water...
14. Arab water!
Zorik Meyer ,   Lod, Israel   (05.08.10)
Arab water is in Saudi Arabia. There is also arab land & arab air. Arabs from Israel are welcome to go home & bathe in their own water!
15. Who trust an Israeli diplomat?
Mikael ,   Europe   (05.08.10)
Not even an IDF investigator!
16. We steal water, organs stole arab brain.
Rehavam ,   Israel   (05.08.10)
17. They forgot to mention the over 50
jason white ,   afula,israel   (05.08.10)
million cubes of water that Israel gives to the jordanians each year, thanks to rabin and his stupid agreement with hussein. The 35 million cubes of water we give the palis, thanks again to rabin. That is over 90 million cubes of water we give away each year! What about the turks building dams and using water resources that used to flow to syria?
18. American Anti semites.. Obamastans new crew

19. National Geographic Vs Public knowledge
Brook Williams ,   Nevada, Usa   (05.08.10)
National Geographic can suck wind from between but cheeks. There hasn't been 1 case of dehydration in Gaza and Ramallah all during 2006 till 2010 which isn't out yet, there has been thousands of casualties due to sexual abuse, honor killings, violence amongst locals, revenge attacks and killings, debts owed and few collected, protection collection and more all by the Gazan and Ramallah hands with no Israeli connection. So National Neolithic what have you to say here now that you have pulled out the tampon and bleeding has stopped?
20. Copy of my e-mail to annenbergfoundation.org
EST ,   Miami USA   (05.08.10)
Dear Sirs, I feel compelled to write this message to let you know that I strongly object to the double standards applied by your exhibit, "Water – Our Thirsty World" - demonizing the State of Israel. No other comments for the photographs make a political statement except those which relate to Israel, and in a very negative light. The message sent through the captions at said exhibit paints Israel as a "genocidal" country - bent on killing their non Jewish neighbors through thirst. The demonizing of the State of Israel- the only Jewish state of the world, is the new anti-Semitism. If you would have looked closely at what the exhibit you sponsor purports as the truth, you would have found out that nothing is further from it. If anything, the State of Israel is working with Jordan and other countries around the world to solve the water shortage crisis. Further, it is also currently in vogue while demonizing the State of Israel, to compare Israel to the Nazis - who inflicted such horrific torture on Jews. This revolting ploy is very much in use by modern anti-Semites. It is an outrage, the way you have allowed your organization to be used to demonize the State of Israel. One would have thought , that if anything, your organization is non-prejudicial. A very public apology on behalf of your organization for having given exposure to such political filth should be forthcomng .... Sincerely,
21. I'm shocked
Marcel ,   Florida   (05.08.10)
'Obama’s endgame is to debilitate, demoralize and destabilize Israel' Gee , I thought it was about peace,I'm shocked ! If you take a look at the US drawn map of the new Palestine you will see that their plan is for worse than Aushwitz borders. Israel is cut in half by her close friend and ally 'for the peace'. No more Israel ,no more problem.thats the CFR controlled US,the EUand UN agenda that Israel has been slow waking up to.No surprise a majority of Jews are working hard for this same goal. This is why the Palestinians are never required to make 'gestures for the peace' but only Israel is forced to .These are the Terms of Surrender masked as goodwill gestures. What better leaders to have at the helm than the three lilliputians who are busy tearing down Jewish homes and driving Jews off their land to please the smiling friend with the executioners blade behind his back. What better slick willey than Netanyahu to bring their agenda to pass ? These quisling Isralei politicians should spell the end of FAILED secular Jewish rule but with a majority of suicidal secular Jews bowing to Washington's no peace, peace it will take a major catastrophe to change things in Israel. With no where else to go for help (they have no desire or faith to turn to God ) they will gladly obey their demi-god until the end. Obama and Mitchell are always smiling when the subject of Israel is broached because they know the quisling in charge . Shimon Says : Security is important but we know that you will lead us in the way of peace because our blind faith is in you. We can see all the peace and security you have brought to Israel in sixteen years from Oslo to Road Map, We trust you because we do not believe or trust in the God of Israel and so we will follow the failed Road Map to hell if that is where it is to take us.We don't have anywhere else to go ,Washington is our only game Can I get up off my knees now Mr. Mitchell ? http://averyheavystone.blogspot.com/
22. The Truth Hurts
Resistor   (05.08.10)
Good on the National Geographic for showing and telling the truth. I too have seen pics where jews divert water from Palestinian buildings to their own new settlements-they steal the land, then the water. Call me an anti-semetic. I love it. The more the world learns of the evil that Israeli jews do, the better the chance of something actually being done to stop it. BDS
23. Natl Geographic
Mick ,   SC USA   (05.08.10)
As I read the vitriol in many of these talkbacks my concern for Israel as an extremist country that cannot accept ANY criticism increases. I won't be canceling my subscription to NG and after reading some of your talkbacks, I will make sure to add more family members on my gift list to receive it.

26. Hardly an issue goes out that does not damn Israel--boycott
mea   (05.08.10)
National Geographic has taken the tact to regularly damn Israel. Another issue focused on the Christians of the holy land and it also misrepresented the facts. I encourage everyone to take the time to email NG's board members and insist they stop this editorial decision to use the good name of NG to deliver unbalanced information on Israel. Please do it today!
27. Another Anti Semite group?

Wake Up and smell the coffee Your strategic value for the USA in few years will be one step higher than Timbaktu
28. While true it is also misleading
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (05.08.10)
Israel current water control is both necessary and wrong but Israel is trying to fix it. Israel water current water policy favors the Jewish farmers over the Palestinians farmers but this is true about land control also. Israel is looking after it own people first, which most governments do, is this right, maybe not but that is the way the most the world seems to work.
29. The "New" Nat'l Geographic
joe   (05.08.10)
I wonder when you intend to air one of your famous "fist" regarding the birth of America. Not the Hollywood 'conte', the original one, uncensored. --- The decimation of the original natives, the elimination of their source of food, habitat, clothing : The Buffalo. The indiscriminate slaughter by the famed 7th cavalry (not Custard last stand),the forced marches, the camps, the creation of an Indian Affair Bureau where money and food were openly stolen by the "Go west" crowd and Govt officials. As we all know, this piece of history was " written" by people from all over Europe (not by a single country). During the civil war, their concentration camps rivaled Europe's in the 18th, 19th century. With all this expertise, America is now dictating how a people decimated by Christianity for 2000 years, should behave in building it's own country, it''s housing, it's resources, it's weapons to defend itself (no other country ever went to war in order to save it). All the while, surrounded by hordes of barbarians, the real ones, bent on destruction and drowning? to the sea?. This is not Mexico. We don't have an Alamo or a David Crockett. Water problems? It's all over the world. See California and it's surrounding States and see who is stealing and from whom. --- Housing?, see famed Indian reservations after 200 years of freedom (a tourist attraction)----- Want to help?, great. Don't dictate....!
