1. The world would be a better place without religious
Salma ,   Palestine   (05.10.10)
2. Always look on the bright side of life...
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (05.10.10)
Interesting to note that according to the Palestinian propaganda machine there is no archeological proof of anything Jewish on the Temple Mount. Then again, the same Palestinian sources say that kassam rockets have no warheads, and Israel passes out libido-enhancing bubblegum to Gaza kids....
3. this is so wrong
Yuda   (05.10.10)
According to the Torahs laws its forbidden to enter the Temple mount
4. Chief Rabbinate Ban
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (05.10.10)
As far as I know, the Chief Rabbinate of Israel has long banned accessing the Temple Mount for Jews. Is not this ban still in effect? If it is, how should we understand the action of these rabbis, who nominal pledge allegiance to the institution of the Chief Rabbinate and presumably adhere to their rulings? Are they telling the public to ignore the Chief Rabbinate and Chief Rabbis - if they can so do, so can the general public? Are they signalling that since the Chief Rabbis are in political disagreement with this group, then anytime anyone disagrees with the Chief Rabbis one can do as he pleases? If the Chief Rabbinate has already ruled, and they are the supreme Halachic authority in this area, should these rabbis not be punished for their public impudence?
5. What? And no riots?
Joey Rose ,   Portland   (05.10.10)
6. #3 Yuda Its only forbidden to enter the holiest of holies
SHame   (05.10.10)
only one part of the Temple Mount is forbidden in Orthodox Law, the reason some rabbis say its forbidden is because they are not 100% sure where it is.
7. #4 Reuven what would you suggest ?
Avi ,   Israel   (05.10.10)
" If the Chief Rabbinate has already ruled, and they are the supreme Halachic authority in this area, should these rabbis not be punished for their public impudence? " What would you suggest a good whipping or the death sentence?
8. These are climing to Moria for them, not for us!
John ,   Europe   (05.10.10)
They know very well that there are only 2 scenarios: a) Torah is right and Moria will be ours when Meshiah comes, therefore, any climbing and display of power is stupid b) Torah is wrong and Moria will not be ours, since there will be no Meshiah, therefore, any climbing and display of power is against our best interests. But it is THEIR interest to show themselves in front of other rabbis: "See, we can climb, we are so great, we spit in Arabs face and nobody can touch us!"
9. Reuven Brauner @ 4, I am not an expert in this matters, but
leo ,   usa   (05.10.10)
from what I understand Jews do not have single religious authority (like Chief Rabbinate for example) to obey. Rabbi can try to teach me of course, but it is up to me whether to follow his teachings or not. Or find another rabbi who suits me better. Or decide for myself. ...
10. Salma @ 1, you are not obligated to follow it.
leo ,   usa   (05.10.10)
11. halacha is not against entering
Ephraim ,   Tapuach   (05.10.10)
it is against entering certain parts, which these ravs were careful in not entering.

John ,   Europe   (05.10.10)
And you know PRECISELY where are the limits for Cohen Gadol/Cohanites/Israel? That's the whole point: nobody knew where the limits were! And they could accidentally step in not on part where Aron haKodesh was (it was where is today the Golden Dome), but where was the altar and the Cohanitic section! That is why Chief Rabbinate ordered that nobody of orthodox denomination should climb Moria.
13. To "Shame" at # 6
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (05.10.10)
Yes , it is this that i have also heard . It's not known EXACTLY , where the Holiest of Holiest is placed , so this is the reason that some Rabbis say not to enter the Temple Mount .
14. The Temple Mount is Jewish
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (05.10.10)
In a "brief guide to al Haram al Sharif" a booklet published in 1930 by the "Supreme Moslim Coucil" headed by Hajj Amin al-Husayni during the British Mandae period , states on page 3 : The site is one of the oldest in the world . Its sancity dates from the earliest times . Its identity with the site of Solomon's temple is beyond dispute . This , too , is the spot , according to universal belief , on wich David built there an altar unto the Lord .
15. To #3 Yuda
Jose Farias ,   Sao Paulo - Brasil   (05.10.10)
Please Yuda, tell me where in TORAH is written sych thing.
16. TOXIC BREW OF MESSIANIC RELIGION & EXTREME NATIONALISM!
David ,   Los Angeles   (05.10.10)
Be afraid, very afraid.
17. political rabbis, not Jewish ones
observer   (05.10.10)
the pioneer Zionists used to distance themselves from being religious and were proud of being settler. Now, the fervent politician Zionist is proud of putting on kippa and of attending the synagogue on Shabbats. is it the stumbling phase of Zionism?
18. Re#14 - It is Indeed!!
Christy ,   Boston, US   (05.11.10)
Instead of making a fuss about Jews 'daring to set foor on the Temple Mount', the Muslims should be glad Israel has allowed them to retain their mosque on Jewish Holy Ground. If it were the other way around, somehow I doubt the Muslims would be as generous to the Jews.
19. Re#16 - Afraid Of WHAT??!!
Christy ,   Boston, US   (05.11.10)
Afraid of Jews standing up for themselves?! Afraid of Jews visiting the *only place on Earth* that can be called Holy because THE Jewish Temple(s) once stood there?! Afraid of Jews visiting what is rightfully their property?! Why should anyone be afraid of this?! If the Jews had a synagogue built on a Muslim Holy site - it would not be there for long. Muslims should be glad Jews *allow* a Muslim mosque to remain on THE Jewish Holy Site. I don't see there's anything to fear at all.
20. 'Rabbis flock to Temple Mount'
Yonah Grau ,   Safed Israel   (05.11.10)
I am really happy to see Jewish rabbis praying at the ancient Temple Mount!..however, I did not like the Google ad, placed within the lower section of the text, of a fat, blond female in a 'bikini' swimsuit. Who permitted this advertizement? Would you place such ad near a picture of the Dhali Lama? or the Catholic Pope? or President Obama. Why then such 'joke' at Jewish rabbis, at our most holy site? Yonah Hannah Grau
21. Yona @ 20
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (05.11.10)
It are those adds that pay for this site to be able to be there
22. #1 and # 16 - your weak spot
Yitzchak ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (05.11.10)
They're the ones that frighten you most, aren't they? The true Religious Zionists. They are the ones that can destroy your dream, aren't they? Real Jews - like Knesset Member Michael Ben Ari, a former student of Rabbi Meir Kahane - frighten you MOST, don't they? In the end - YOU WILL LOSE!!!
23. #3 Yehuda...
Orly ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.11.10)
... you are totally right. That is why there was never a Temple built by king Shlomo, nor a "second" Temple built by Ezra and Nehemiah, because it is absolutely prohibited for us to ascend that plateau. And that Hanukka balogne, what a crock, no "Hasmoneans" ever lit a candelabrum while everyone was ruitually impure in the fictional Temple they refurbished. It's time to set the record straight, Yehuda, and you're doing a great job!
24. #2 Brian Cohen
Howard S ,   Scottsdale, AZ USA   (05.11.10)
Brian Cohen is not the Messiah. He's just a naughty boy!
25. Brian Cohen
Simcha ,   So.Cal.USA   (05.11.10)
You forgot to mention the attack snakes the IDF are training.
26. WOULD THESE GUYS ALLOW MUSLIMS TO PRAY AT THE W. WALL????
SINGER ,   SINGAPORE   (05.12.10)
27. Singer , it's not a Muslim Holy place !
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (05.12.10)
And , from 1948 to 1967 , when Jerusalem was ILLEGALLY occupied by Jordan , well , during those 19 years , NO Saudi ruler , good Muslims no ? visited their, so called , Holy place .
28. Salma please answer my questions
helen ,   uk   (05.17.10)
why would the worl be a better place without religion? what is wrong religion? is religion not Gods rules? Tell me Salma, how would the world be a better place?
29. Build Synagogue on Temple Mount
mike cushman ,   manchester, england   (05.17.10)
These rabbis are to be commended for reasserting Jewish sovereignty over the Temple Mount, Judaism's holiest site. we now have to go further. It is high time to build a house of prayer there. Why should the Muslims alone be allowed to pray there in their mosques? Is not this discriminatory and undemocratic? The Likud government should pluck up its courage and start cultivating the number 1 Jewish site in the entire world.
