I know Mr. Vaanunu well. We grew up together in shechuna dalet in Beer Sheva. He is an honorable person, which is more than I can say about most Israelis.

One small correction -- Jonathan Pollard worked for Naval Intelligence. He applied to the CIA, but was turned down after he admitted to using drugs while in college and graduate school in the 1970s. (He is the reason why Israel can fire nuclear warheads from submarines.)

I know Mr. Vaanunu from Shechuna Dalet. We grew up together. He comes from a respectable Jewish Moroccan family. While most Moroccan families deteriorated to crime or to pseudo-patriotism which manifests itself in Arab bashing, the Vaanunu family kept their dignity. Mordechai is a real hero, not like the clown-heroes of modern Zionism like Elie Wiesel or the late Ilan Ramin.

Amazing how many lies Israelis will accept without question. They mist be brain dead. What 'secrets' could Vaniuunu possibly disclose after 24 years? That Israel has and produced nuclear weapons? That Israel's proffessed policy of 'nuclear ambiguity' is a lie? Both are pretty well known. Instead, Vanunu is being persecuted by the Israeli 'security' services, with the assisrtance of Israel's so-called legal system, for no other reason than he exposed the lies. And that, according to Israel, is unforgivable. Why can't he leace the country? When Pollard, who deserves eveery day he spends in prison, is finally released, he will be ble to speak with whomever he wants. He will be able to leave the US and move to Israel. And the US legal system and most Americans will view his emigration as very welcome. Israel, on the orther hand, wishes to hold up Vanunu as an example. He is to be persecuted. He is not allowed to meet 'foreign nationals, thereby denying hin freedom of speech and association, and he is denied his right to reavel. He is Israel's Hester Prynne, forced to wear his scarlet 'A' foe no other ereason than to show other Israelis that they have no rights, even after serving their sentences, if they divulge the truth.

What an admirable man! A real freedom fighter and an example for the world. He should get nominated for the Nobel peace price! A beautiful person indeed!
