1. Tottaly sick people
Avi ,   Israel   (05.13.10)
A women practially starves her own son to death and some Rabbi is dishing out the advise? Then as this child abuser is arrested the charideem riot? Would she jump off a cliff if the Rabi advised her? These people has long the lost the basic human ability to think for themselves and to determine right from wrong. Is anyone checking the Rabbis , or even questioning their authority. No doubt she will be clutching her bible are reciting verses in the court room. Tottaly discusting and unfortuently we are seeing similar cases from the ultra orthdox more and more and i am sure that from this closed community who do not recognise the law of the land that this is only the tip of the ice berg.
2. Small Sect
D ,   Israel   (05.13.10)
Not all Chareidim rioted. This woman belongs to a small sect of Chreidim that are considered extreme even amongst the rest of the chareidi world who by and large keep Israeli law and are contributing more and more.
3. That's it? house arrest?
Talula ,   Israel   (05.13.10)
That is absolutely UNACCPETABLE!!!! She needs to be thrown in prison for 10 years and more for what she did to that child….. HER OWN CHILD! It’s true that the citizens of this country are becoming all too familiar with the complete lack of justice and this is just another kick in the testicles. This woman committed a disgusting act, and all because the government are scared crapless of what the Haredim would do if she was, as she should be, thrown in prison with other attempted murders and child abusers. It goes beyond disgusting. Lock the witch up and throw away the key. Her little boy is going to have to live his entire life with the knowledge that the person who should kill to protect him, tried to starve him to death. Surely that accounts for something, doesn’t it?
4. #1 Forget they are religious
Daniel ,   Rehovot   (05.13.10)
child abuse happens in all walks of society - it's disturbing on every level.
5. The only reason she agreed to the plea bargain
M.E.   (05.13.10)
was because they threatened her that she would be sitting behind bars for years and not because she is guilty of starving the child or of anything else. There were many witnesses that it was the doctor who experimented on this child and caused the child to look the way he did. When the mother wanted to switch hospitals they got hysterical lest the other hospital find out the truth about the barbaric doctors in Hadassah. But what can you do? This is after all the zionist medinah shel gehinom where the secular doctors are always right - at least in the eyes of the cruel judges, the rishei yisrael.
6. Why aren't the STARVING DOCTORS behind bars?
M.E.   (05.13.10)
Dr. Michael Weintraub, Head of Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Department in Hadassah University Hospital Ein-Karem, Jerusalem, in his medical report dated 27.05.09 stated among others that CHAIMKE WAS TREATED WITH THE MEDICATION CALLED ANAKINRA. Professor Moshe Tishler of the Rheumatology Department in Ichilov Hospital, explained that this MEDICATION THAT TREATS THOSE SUFFERING RHEUMATIC ARTHRITIS (WHICH THIS CHILD DID NOT SUFFER FROM) CAUSES SEVERE SIDE EFFECTS, INCLUDING A SIGNIFICANT DROP IN WEIGHT. Starving Doctor who should be behind bars and have him cooperate with the authorities. This MEDICATION IS ONLY APPROVED FOR ADULTS OVER 18 YEARS and has NOT BEEN APPROVED FOR YOUNGER THAN THAT AGE AND CERTAINLY NOT FOR TODDLERS AND CHILDREN. This medication was tested on young animals but there’s no medical outcome on the effect it has on young children. Therefore, it is illegal to treat children with this medication. It is the sole responsibility of the doctor to makes use of this medication. In other words, this medication was experimented on this young poor child without the consent of the parents and then blamed the mother for starving the child.

Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (05.13.10)
Your racist hatred for Haredim makes you miss the important things. If you believe the article, the woman is suffering from Munchausen syndrome and the plea bargain is reasonable. A sick person should not be jailed as you demand but treated. If you don't think she is sick, you should be condemning the State Prosecution for the plea bargain. If she is guilty, why the plea bargain? Or maybe #5 is right? The prosecution made the plea bargain to avoid sending Dr. Weintraub to jail?
8. Why aren't these mengele doctors behind bars
(05.13.10)
for refusing to allow the child to drink even the smallest amount of water throughout his stay in the hospital? Why aren't they behind bars if they stuffed him with chemo for no reason other than for experimentation causing his hair to fall out? Why aren't they behind bars for experimenting with dangerous treatments? Why aren't they behind bars for an unnecessary appendix operation they performed on another child? Why did the doctors boast to the mother that they spent 1 million DOLLARS for this child? Since when would the kupat cholim pay for such expensive treatments? Why aren’t they behind bars for editing the videos? Why aren’t they behind bars for destroying all their documents?
9. #7 Bring it on Moron!!!
Talula ,   Israel   (05.13.10)
You clearly suffer from extreme case of paranoia. Where did I mention that she is Haredi? WHERE??????! I'm not known for my love of Haredim, but in cases like this, it doesn't matter to me what the hell she is. She's a mother and mothers don't do that. I'm not buying into the whole sick thing of labeling her with an illness just to save her ass and keep her out of prison. You asshole, get a life!

Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (05.13.10)
So you honestly think that the Judge and the Attorney General's office are conspiring to keep an evil woman out of jail. Why would they do that? Are the courts and AG run by Haredim? Did the woman bribe the judge and the AG? Do tell...
11. She accepted the deal rather than being an Uzi Meshulam II
What a smart woman   (05.13.10)
She's well aware of the fact that Israeli doctors would be up to anything to save their skin. Better the plea bargain then come out of jail a vegetable... The fact that she will not go to prison is a complete victory for her and the Jewish community, and an admission of defeat by the zionists that they falsely accused her and mistreated her. Volvie
12. #5, 6, 8 u r practicing Lashon HaRa...
(05.13.10)
remember that Lashon HaRa carries the same level of punishment as someone who commits murder. Better for you to be quiet!
13. Talula I understand how you feel & generally would agree...
(05.13.10)
but in this case it is so very clear that this poor woman is mentally ill and that putting her in jail really wouldn't help resolve anything. I do believe the courts have made a wise decision. Please do bear in mind that this case is different from other child abuse cases in the country.
14. Her grizzly acts are the result of an awful illness....
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (05.13.10)
People can disparage the doctors and Hadassah all they like. But it's clear that she starved and poisoned this child. It's on videotape. It's a well known syndrome. What's awful is how some in the Heredi community cover up crimes of others in their community. Riot in the streets, and on and on. And then cry "Heredi bashing" which is complete horse shit. The deal is probably fair. As long as she is never around children unsupervised again.
15. 13 - she's not ill - she's evil
Talula ,   Israel   (05.13.10)
All her other children were not starved. One must apply oneself and look at the whole picture. And that is no-one helped this little boy. They are all guilty, take the children away and put them is a safe loving family.
16. The court has proven that this woman is completely innocent
clear thinking   (05.13.10)
Were she to indeed have starved her son, the judge and prosecutors and doctors would firmly insist she be behind bars.
17. To #4: You are right but only in Israel Rabbis justify ....
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (05.13.10)
their actions! As for our lazy prosecutors, they are a disgrace and the judges are should be hauled over the coals for allowing this evil women to get away with it! When is our President of the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Dorit Benish, going to wake up that the people of this country have no confidence in the Judiciary? Where are our so called Representatives, Members of the Knesset? Shelly Yachimovich should be screaming about the injustices in our courts and how our Religion is being abused. Criminals who have never been religious suddenly sport black kippot to impress the Judges and the fools fall for this! The country is lacking leadership and little children are paying the price for Netanyahu's kowtowing to the Haredim!
18. Child Abuse
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (05.13.10)
It's often the case that in child abuse situations like the one above, the immediate and perhaps extended family will come to the defense of the accused and do everything it can to cover the abuse up. It's also the case (but rarer) that a whole community or cult will come to the defense of an accused child abuser. This occurs everywhere. In this case, the Charedi community, or factions of it, have come to the defense of the accused woman and have placed blame on the judiciary and medical establishment. One can view this behaviour even now throughout some of the posts on this board. It is certainly an indication of the failing of one faction of the religious community in Israel. I would imagine that there are more, perhaps significantly more, cases amongst a segment of the Charedim which, so far, have managed to elude the observations of the authorities.
19. You know ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.13.10)
I want her thrown in jail. Into solitary confinement. I do not want her to have visitation rights. I do not want her to have reading privileges. I do not want her to have exercise privileges. I most certainly do not want her to have telephone privileges. I want her in a cell, 24 hours a day, every day. Let her contemplate what she did to her son. She is a vile, vicious monster who clearly does not understand what a precious gift a child is. Let her rot. I could care less. The children she has would be far better off raised by a human being, not a monster.
