1. This is the face of "peace" with an Arab country!!!
Anat ,   Israel   (05.15.10)
2. Sad to have so much hate.
John ,   USA   (05.15.10)
Every inch of land of Israel was payed for in gold and silver by Jews to Arabs. Read your bible. Especial in the West Bank.
3. The Palestinian people have spoken in their homeland: Jordan
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (05.15.10)
Seeing how Jordan is the homeland of the Palestinian people, and even their Queen is Palestinian, it is easy to see how they want to scuttle the peace talks with Israel.
4. :: Give the food to your brothers in Gaza claiming starvatio
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (05.15.10)
but NO! You Arabs will commit suicide and let your brothers die to attain a fake honor!
5. Nothing surprising
Matityahu ,   Slovenia   (05.15.10)
Luckily Israel's neighbour countries are so rich with idiots, there's hardly any chance they could win the wars they started/will start. Saying they have a middle age mentality is an understatement.
6. Nice way to increase exports
Maks ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.15.10)
sell food in order to be burned
7. OK....Starve. (end).
Shimon ,   Cincinnati, USA   (05.15.10)
8. Jordanian Fatwa
peter ,   amsterdam Nl   (05.15.10)
Quote: "...the Anti-Normalization Committee plans to announce the names of Jordanians who maintain normalized relations with Israel in the near future." That would include the name of King Abdallah, I presume - or they conveniently leave him out. Maybe it's time he cracked down on these rabble rousers like his father did once on Yasser Arafat's Fatah.
9. jordanians
debbie ,   israel   (05.15.10)
MATTY GROVES, This is the first sensible talkback you've ever made. Yes, I thought all their Palestinian brothers were starving in Gaza, because of the closed borders. Israel's juicy, delicious fruits and vegetables would have been put to a better use, if the hateful Jordanians had sent them to Gaza. This proves that the food is not really needed in Gaza. They have everything they need.
10. Sauteed peppers Jordanian style
Cynthia ,   USA   (05.15.10)
They forget when Jordan attacked Israel in '48, they created the refugee problem. And to this day, their Palestinian brothers live in refugee camps Jordan created. So burn your Israeli products while your Palestinian brothers starve in these pitiful refugee camps. This must be a very proud moment for the king and queen of Jordan. And don't come begging for money from the US while we see you burning these food products.
11. food is peace
roli ,   miami beach, USA   (05.15.10)
there are men and women, Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Druze, Circasian, etc... who work and sweat to put produce on the table in Israel. Much more than in all of it's neighbouring countries where solely women are forced to do most of the agriculture. I guess their clerics believe in pre-Ramadan fasts for the poor because this activity will make high quality food more scarce and expensive in Jordan.
12. burnt? okay, but was it paid for?
tom ,   toronto, canada   (05.15.10)
13. Not mentioned in Haaretz
Chaim Ben Kahan ,   Efrat, Israel   (05.15.10)
This is the true face of Arabs and their attitudes towards Israel and the reason there is no peace.
14. jordan (aka "arab palestine")
tom ,   toronto, canada   (05.15.10)
obviously, some people in jordan like to get their pictures in the paper. this "religious edict" is no different from the arab boycott of israel, which has been going on for 60+ years. yawn! but why does jordan encourage, or even permit, such incitement? a single statement from the king would put a stop to this nonsense, so it begs the question, is he in charge? or is jordan afraid of the most obvious solution to the "palestinian problem": that "arab refugees from palestine" should be resettled in the "arab homeland in palestine", namely jordan. peace treaty or no, it is still a capital offence in jordan to sell property to a jew. and jordan is busy stripping its "palestinan" residents (whatever that actually means) of jordanian citizenship (with no particular international outcry at this "ethnic cleansing"). it seems that relations with jordan were better without a peace treaty...
15. Jordan, the renegade !
joe   (05.15.10)
Since Jordan has signed a peace treaty with the Jewish State, every jordanian with at least a kindergarten education, knows that it's a ' normal ' tie between 2 countries who decided that war is not a desirable state of affairs. Armati's wrangling over those who have ' normal ' ties with Israel, are " godless people devoid of humanity ".Woah ! I never pictured Jordanians as such. Although their pagan beliefs are for one allah, the head of a clique , inventor of their infamous Jihad , Their followers have been issuing edicts, fatwa and other such stupid demands for the last 1400 years to no avail. Nakba, the day Israel and Jerusalem were free from the puppets installed by the Britts - Glub Pasha , Abdullah. ---- PS : I got a kick from " plunder muslim land ". Now that they can have food in abundance, paved roads, running water, great hospitals, from the Jews, instead of sand, rocks and a few scorpions, they want it -- all free of charge, allah or no allah.
16. We have a peace treaty with Jordan...
Gershon Reed ,   Be'er Sheva, Israel   (05.15.10)
With friends like this, who needs enemies?
17. Sick, childish behaviour. Really "peaceful"
Scott   (05.15.10)
18. waist of food nothing else.
Dov ,   US   (05.15.10)
19. ISRAEL should STOP protecting the little false king and let
jordan is palestine   (05.15.10)
hamas kill him!
20. good idea
Rob ,   UK   (05.15.10)
mmm, stewed fruit. lovely.
21. When I see or hear the word Arab
Raptor   (05.15.10)
I immediately want to....... I can't say it. It would be blasphemy. My life would be in danger from people who are as far removed from normality as is possible.
22. very logical
(05.15.10)
Jordan paid for the food, these rioters paid for the food, then burned it. so who came out losing? it sure ain't israel.
23. two can play the same game
Aryeh ,   Bat Ayin   (05.15.10)
except we need to be smarter and not even buy Jordanian produce or allow it into our stores. If Tnuva or other produce sellers are stupid enough to buy it and bring it here, let it rot in the farmer's market. Arab produce should be considered poison, I would not be surprised if they fertilize it with human waste
24. A better boycott idea!
soludo   (05.15.10)
Just stop drinking water! Since Israel supplies much water to Jordan, that would be a very good and effective thing to do harm the ties between countries.
25. Hey, once we get our money and it's paid for, I personally
don't care if you ,   piss on it.!!!!!!   (05.15.10)
26. no 4
hebrew prophet ,   israel   (05.15.10)
If these stupid Palestinians want to burn perfectly fresh edible foodstuffs from Israel then stop sending this produce to them and let them starve ,teach them a lesson?
27. Jordan
Jim Brown ,   TN USA   (05.15.10)
Our church group is going to Petra next month. Makes us want to cancel our visit there.
28. Idiots. Jordan paid for that food. So in
Allan ,   Ft. Lauderdale   (05.15.10)
essence they're burning their money, which, as poor as Jordan is, it can least afford to do. Proof of the idiotic Arab mentality. Oh, wait, they'll just turn around with hat in hand and beg the US for a handout. Pathetic!
29. as long as you pay for it
(05.15.10)
you can do whatever you want with it, who cares :D
30. Thanks Obama for brining relations with arabs to a new low
zionist forever   (05.15.10)
The man has made it his mission to make israel bashing worldwide politically acceptable especially in the Middle East. Before Obama came along Israel might do plenty of things to upset the arabs but they never took a position anything like as hostile as Obama has allowed them to be. If Israel made a concession to get talks started like a freeze in building in Judea and Samaria the president would say to the palestinians your turn to make a concession. The palestinian leadership would not play hard to get and say we want more from Israel first they would have been told I am the president you want any help from me you make getsures and you start talking. Relations with Egypt & Jordan have got much worse and we are close to these countries even saying we are going to be enemies again because we don't like your policy Israel. Europe has made Israel bashing acceptable ... even in Germany they are now turning on Israel. Obama has decided that the US should remain abstain when it comes to anti Israel resolutions in the UN security Council. Obama has now decided the US should join an Israel bashing NGO which it had previously refused to get involved with. If the man hadn't turned on Israel so Obama can reach out to the muslims then things would be very different now and the situation between Israel and the arabs would be much better than the situation now where relations are probably the worst in over 20 years. As for Palestines .... I mean Jordans nakba celebrations I wonder how the poor or homeless feel about the idea of burning food just so everybody can say how much they hate Israel and believe it has no right to exist.
