2. So what are all millions of centrifuges for?
Ben Alofs ,   Bangor, UK   (05.17.10)
Iran has been bragging for the last 3 years of building an ever increasing number of centrifuges to enrich uranium. 2 months ago they claimed to have finally enriched the first kg of uranium. Now, all of a sudden, they beg for enriched uranium from others. This means that the nuclear program in Iran is a failure and they are trying other ways to obtain enriched uranium. The world should not be fooled and should not give Iran one ounce of enriched uranium to any degree.

9. another delaying tactic to avoid sanctions not a solution
zionist forever   (05.17.10)
The Europeans & US have been trying to get Iran to give up its nuclear program since early in Bushes second term. They used diplomacy and sanctions and all they got was delying tactics not a solution. Russia even tried to get Iran to stop but again they had no luck. Suddenly Brazil & Turkey who are both allies and trading partners who don't want sanctions come up within a couple of weeks. If Iran are serious about all this why are they still investing billions on their centrifuges. They don't need all those centrifuges if they are planning only to enrich their uranium to a low grade for electricty generation. Also how much uranium does Iran already have its never been declared and they have been caught out at least once with a nuclear site they didn't declare to the IAEA. For all we know they may even have enough weapons grade uranium for a couple of bombs. There is no way Iran can do a deal like this otherwise it ruins all their long term plans to rule the region and threaten countries beyond the Middle East. With their growing missile plan they can already hit all the Middle East & Europe and soon they will be able to hit the US. They have already been demanding the US leave the Gulf now or they might start sinking ships. With nukes they are in a position to bully most western countries and especially its arab neighbors which it wants to do. Without the nukes they might be a major military power in their backyard because their investment in conventional weapons but if the US starts sending even more conventional weapons to the Gulf they won't even be that. Iran has to much invested in its nuclear program financially and politically to just do a deal. This is just another delaying tactic so lets not break out the champagne just yet.

The shah signed the NPT in 1968 so until they withdraw then they are bound by its conditions and that means they are not allowed to have or develop nukes.
12. #5. Peter. The US was sidelined.
k1w1 ,   NZ   (05.17.10)
The Obama administration had nothing at all to do with this deal and have opposed it all the way. Just three days ago (May 14) Secretary of State Clinton was busy telling everyone how the US was still opposed to the Brazilian president’s diplomatic effort to reach a settlement with Iran, and insisting it was doomed to failure. The US has repeatedly rejected Iran’s call for additional talks while citing the lack of those talks as vindication that further, harsher sanctions (an act of war) must be applied to Iran - that’s what the US calls negotiating. And hardly a week goes by without the White House issuing a statement claiming Russia or China are coming around to the US’ wish to impose UNSC sanctions on Iran, and a day or two later Russia or China issue their own statement refuting the claim and reiterating their unchanged positions, that there will be no sanctions. “But will the deal be satisfactory to the US?” Probably not, and it’s not surprising to hear some anonymous “source” from Israel, the local US proxy, claiming Iran is only “pretending to accept the agreement”. It’s simply laughable.
13. Alsmost 1 year ago Iran had more than twice the 1,200 kg
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (05.17.10)
When this deal was first proposed almost a year ago, Iran had more than twice the 1,200 kg that was required for them to transfer. Now they have stalled and accumulated more, and the world is happy at the original amount? How much 3.5% do they have now? If the deal goes through then Iran will send some 1,200 kg of its 3.5 percent enriched uranium over to Turkey in exchange for a total of 120 kg 20 percent uranium needed for a medical research reactor.
14. A SUDDEN MILITARY STRIKE !!!.
Arn. ,   SWEDEN.   (05.17.10)
An Israeli source told the AFP French news agency that Iran was fooling Turkey and Brazil by "pretending to accept the agreement TIME IS APROACHING AND ALL THE CARDS WILL BE CALLED !!!. BEVERE - !!!. Arn.
15. This is the loneliest day for Israel.
Persian CAT   (05.17.10)
The only country that continues to build illegal colonies, not a signatory to the NPT, and the only Apartheid regime in the world. If I were an Israeli, I'd be worried, really worried.

“The Europeans & US […] used diplomacy…” That would be a very loose interpretation of the term ‘diplomacy’, unless you consider diplomacy means the EU and the US having some meetings with each other and deciding they want to apply some more sanctions (acts of war) on Iran and that the rest of the world must help them do it. For the past 31yrs Washington and Tehran haven’t exactly had the friendliest relationship, you may have noticed, (the Great Satan, etc etc, we’re gonna bomb ya, etc etc), and the mullahs aren’t so keen on the Europeans either, so you shouldn’t be surprised Iran is going with a deal that’s backed by Russia and China and doesn’t involve the US, the UK and France. The deal will go ahead regardless of what the west thinks about it, and regardless of the exact amount of uranium Iran possesses. And there will be nothing the west can do about it (no UN or other sanctions, no military strikes) without annoying Russia and China, who owns them.
