31. To PA: don't forget electronic equipment
Avi ,   Geneva   (05.18.10)
Stop using cell phones, computers, flash drives, medical innovations, pharmaceuticals, and every other new technology Israelis or Jews have produced lately! We don't WANT you to benefit from our work. We are HAPPY you boycott us, only please do it fully. It will send you back where you belong - to the cave.
32. #25 The sad reality, Hess
Cynthia ,   USA   (05.18.10)
The Palestinians have NO economy. They want to ban Palestinians from working in their ownly viable labor market. As a result, thousands of Palestinians be unemployed. Palestinian unemployment is already estimated at 25%-65% and most of the labor market consists of unskilled workers. Funding to cover PA payroll comes from taxes paid by Israeli employers for work performed by Palestinian workers. Kilani may need to go without a paycheck. I think the PA is already two months behind. Now the PA is going to ban an established and reliable food supply without having a back-up plan. This willl force the Palestinians to pay PA prices and face a shortage of food. It will also leave Palestinian truckers who transport the goods without work. But don't worry Hess, this could benefit Israel.
33. Great!
soludo   (05.18.10)
First of all we need a complete separation from the Arab entity occupying parts of our Jewish homeland. Secondly, them going totalitarian on their own population and impoverishing themselves only serves us in that their economy will be unviable and they won't have the money for terrorism. Our government should just institute similar measures on our side, and they certainly need to ban any Fakestinian workers from Israel.
34. To Israel: Arrest Their Leaders for Incitement
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (05.18.10)
My suggestion to Israel is this: instead of devoting resources, police, soldiers, etc., to stopping the Haredi (you can talk to them), arrest any PA politician, judge, police, etc., who tries to enforce this nonsensical edict. I understand there could be a counter boycott, (which will be, like Chomsky affair) criticized worldwide. Politics is against little Israel..5.5m Jews vs 1.4b Muslims. Sooooo, give their leaders 6 years for incitement. No deals and no premature releases.
35. you have to decide
baruch ,   paris   (05.18.10)
this is very strange : they cry because we dont let goods go to Gaza and when we let goods go to ramalah they dont want it
36. Why so angry ?
Palestine   (05.18.10)
I can see by the talkbacks that this has hit a nerve with some people. Why the anger and rage ? We have the right to do what we want ? Right ? After all, you do see us as humans ? right ? Just goes to show how tolerant and understanding some people are !!! Have an nice day :)
37. GHANDI OPPOSED THE SALT TAX OF THE BRITISH RAJ BY
SINGER ,   SINGAPORE   (05.18.10)
LEADING HIS COUNTRYMEN ON A MARCH TO MAKE SALT....THESE KIND OF PROTEST WERE INSTRUMENTAL IN BREAKING THE WILL OF THE BRITISH TO CONTINUE COLONISING INDIA. THIS CAMPAIGN WILL HAVE THE SAME EFFECT ON THE ISRAELI COLONISATION OF PALESTINE!!!
38. Hard to accept Michael Hess at his word...
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (05.18.10)
...for a guy who claims that I'm not an Israeli living in Israel. Hess, why not come to Judea for yourself and talk to the Palestinians who work here. In fact, a new Rami Levy supermarket is opening up in a few weeks - it's an Israeli supermarket with other branches in "occupied territory" where Palestinians and Israelis work together and shop together. Since you'll probably want to boycott it, we'll each bring our own beers and you can tell the Palestinians working there that they should quit working for an Israeli, and stop patronizing the store, which you claim is illegally built and run on their land. Then, of course, you can look me in the eye and tell me I don't exist and I'm not an Israeli living in (what I consider) Israel...
39. #22 YES WE CAN, WE WANNA MORE
Salma ,   Palestine   (05.18.10)
This campaign is true and we shall work for it !!! Political intervention has failed to bring about an end to the occupation . It is time for ordinary people in the ground to take a stand, and boycotting "Israeli" goods is an effective option. "Israelis" will claim that aboycott will harm Palestinians workers but the truth is Most of these workers who are employed by the settlers are children forced to work long hours under a hot baking sun for small sums of money. This exploitation means that these children miss out on an education It is important that the PA have an alternative plan and clear, and I am sure those workers will accept less pay as a first step, but important not to leave them to their fate, we all pray for the day will come when we can rely only on ourselves.... without neglecting the responsibility of the occupation of the citizens under its control Always the first step difficult, but it's time to put an end to this tragedy. The settlers to harvest olives in the coming season themselves :)
40. Euro-American aid is used to support boycotts of Israel
Zvi   (05.18.10)
This bureaucratic attack on Israel requires cash to pay the people who are wasting their time compiling boycott lists (forbidden by the WTO, by the way). It requires cash to maintain the information on an ongoing basis. It requires cash to pay for enforcement. This cash is coming either from the aid that the world is sending to the Palestinians, or from other funds that they are available to squander on this project because the world is paying for things like health care improvements. The US and EU should declare that if the PA has money to waste on this, it can shoulder its financial burdens all by itself.
41. PALESTINIANS ARE BECOMING MUCH STRONG ...
..AND I RESPECT THAT ,   ATİLLA KARAGÖZOĞLU   (05.18.10)
give me food, I eat give me water, I drink give me electricity, I see give me medicine, I get heal OKAY I CHANGE MY MIND keep your food keep your water keep your electricity keep your medicines OKAY LETS START THE FIGHT
42. I hope they boycott everything
Matityahu ,   Slovenia   (05.18.10)
Then let's see how long they will live on sheep sh*t and foreign donations.
43. Could Turn Out For Good
Christy ,   Boston, US   (05.18.10)
It's good the PA leaders are thinking and acting on building up the economy for their people. These leaders *should* be more concerned with building up their economy and their people rather than just obtaining weapons to destroy the Jews. If the PA is able to build a strong economy it could encourage many other fields of work to take root and benefit the Pales. people. People who are building a strong economy usually concentrate on this and aren't as inclined to go to war. I wish them well and hope they turn into good neighbors for Israel.
44. Peace Insolence: Impose"Tit for tat "and More !
Roland Seener ,   London England   (05.18.10)
45. Support these companies!!!!!!!!

48. American and
Cynic #2   (05.18.10)
49. Israel has a legal
Ilana   (05.18.10)
religios and historical claim on all of Jerusalem. Learn history !
50. #39 Let's see you work it, Salma
Cynthia ,   USA   (05.18.10)
But don't work it by making up stories. Palestinians who work in Israel are not children. They're adults who travel long hours and even work illegally in Israel because this is their only option. The PA has failed to provide jobs for them. If they work under the hot sun it's because of the weather conditions which Israel has no control over. No one forces them to work in Israel. Their parents are responsible for sending Palestinian children to school. Please get that straight. How can you ban Palestinians from working in Israel if you have no other jobs for them? Not too swift Salma. Are you just expecting the US to pay their unemployment? And how will PA government workers get paid if Palestinians aren't working in Israel? Your unemployment rates are rising by the minute. Israel doesn't need Palestinian workers. They have their home grown unemployed and foreign workers who don't pose a security problem. Go ahead Salma, we're waiting for Palestinians to boycott medical treatment from Israel and foreign aid from the US, UN, EU and the hundreds of other donors who float your boat. You make a lot of noise but when push comes to shove, nothing gets off the ground.
51. #50 Cynthia, first end your occupation
Salma ,   Palestine   (05.18.10)
Then the Palestinians and not others will lead this region to real prosper , you are living in USA do not know, that before " Israel" was created on the ruins of Palestine, the workers were coming to us from the Gulf and Lebanon to work in our territory, What we need is to end occupation from every inch of our land, and not interfere with the freedom of our movement, we have the best doctors and engineers all over the world, and we do not need you, as long as we are not under occupation .....till this happen and as long as "Israel" is occupying power, they bear full responsibility for the Palestinians even with a PA ,may you know that Abu Mazen needs permission if he wanted to travel from Ramallah to Jenin !!!!!!!!!!!!
52. They know what has to be done to get results.
Vardina   (05.18.10)
However. we can not gorce anyone to by settlers' products just as no one can force us to buy anything against our will. What I have learned from this is that such legislation can be applied in Israel too. For instance - Jail time for anyone who travels to Turkey, or buys Palestinian products or dines in Arab restarants in Israel. This would work for sure.
53. boycott
robi ,   usa   (05.18.10)
great! and now not a single tomato or cucumber from the "gada" into Israel. any Israeli merchant importing from "Palestine" goes to jail
54. #51 False
Cynthia ,   USA   (05.19.10)
Israel does not bear full responsibility for the Palestinians. If you lived in the West Bank or Gaza you would know that. You use the occupation as an excuse. The poor decisions we now witness the PA making explain why Palestinians don't prosper.
