rexford   (05.25.10)
It's just a myth there is no evidence whatsoever that Rashis daughters wore tefillin.
62. Sick man!
Yehudi ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.25.10)

63. Fanatics can't answer , this for Sagi and Reuven
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (05.25.10)
Sad people indeed those fanatics on both sides . They jump to insult and/or throw their hate , and then , when placed in front of factsw or own writings , return in their hole . It are those people who bring all those disputes , those fanatics on both sides . Recognise , Sagi , that there are GREAT religious people , who because of their belief , do great jobs for the WHOLE Israeli people . Recognise Reuven , that not only religious people have rights here , we , the seculars have rights too . Recognise that women can also believe , in their way , not yours . You have the right to walk around wearing your talit , let them come in the street with tafilim imprint . It's not you to judge , you as a "believer" believ hat a god will judge , their and your acts
64. talmud says tefillin not forbidden for women though!
Shmueli ,   Long Beach, CA   (05.26.10)
based on the example of Mikhal bat Shaul in Eruvin 96a we are told that "Mikhal daughter of King Shaul used to wear tefillin and the sages did not protest." though not required, they CAN. the issues in halacha becomes id discussion on weather or not a women should say a blessing (Rabbeinu Tam, Rashba) or not (Rashi, Rambam). its say that people only care about looking frum, not really knowing Torah.
65. the haredim are right, sort of
tom ,   toronto, canada   (05.28.10)
why was he looking at her arms? so, apparently, the very sight of a woman drives some haredi men crazy. therefore, it would be appropriate to confine this man to a prison cell for a while, just to "protect" him from the temptation of looking at women. and at the same time, he could be tested and treated for whatever mental illness makes him think that he is permitted to behave this way.
