The planting and nurturing of trees in Israel has been an ongoing enterprise involving Israelis and members of the diaspora, a sacred one at that. The burning and devouring of these trees is, if anything, even worse than the Palestinians destroying food, i.e., watermelons grown in settlements. Trees. plants, agricultural production, food and water are basic to survival. Groups which destroy any of these are sinful. We can't do much about the mentality of Palestinians but we are in a position to halt and prohibit the blasphemies of the Charedim. I think most Israelis have had about enough. Let's start by forcing those members of the Edah Charedit without citizenship out of the country followed by drastic penalties for all Charedim caught in criminal acts against the state or municipality. I am fed up!

Firefighters have been killed fighting forest fires. Fires can rage out of control and put other citizens' lives at risk. Why don't they seem to care that their actions may result in someone's death? I don't understand why those who were obstructing the firefighters weren't all placed in jail? These 'protesters' (thugs) are learning that they can destroy and not be punished. Police have to come down on them *much* harder and put lots of them in jail.
