"Israeli Arabs" implies that they are a type of Arab - Arabs who live in Israel. "Arab Israelis" implies that they are a type of Israeli - Israelis of Arab culture/language/ethnicity. That says something basic about self-identification. Of course, depending on the context (who you are comparing them against), you may stress one or the other aspect of identity. When comparing Israeli Arabs against Egyptian Arabs, it makes sense to use the term Israeli Arab. When comparing Israelis who are Jewish vs. those who are Arab, it makes more sense to say Arab Israelis. Also note that in Hebrew, the adjective follows the noun while in English, it precedes the noun.

What are you both talking about? They are ARAB-ISRAELI! You would call a black person from America "American-African"... OMG...they are part of the country for gods-sake. If they are able to get a better deal (since they are human), of course they will do what they can to save money like us Jews! It's the jewish companies that need to wake up and stop excluding Arabs from the bottom line. You go Big! YNET - You need to change the headline and leave off the "prefer Israeli products", like you are trying to say "jewish" products over "arab". A bigger company will get and should provide better pricing! Common sense!!!!!

Now if only you could sell it to Israeli arabs, because in their ignorance they disagree...
9. How about just calling them Israelis?
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (05.27.10)
Many so call Arabs have little Arab blood and some Israeli Jews have very little of old Jewish blood. Also why should not Israelis buy Israeli products but I could see many non-Jewish Israelis not buying kosher products or non religion Jewish people for that matter.
