2. To #1: US spying is a wholly separate matter
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (05.27.10)
Yes, we know the US spies on Israel, that those caught are quietly shipped home rather than jailed. But that's a separate matter. Israel shouldn't be changing the rules and tax rates prevalent when this activity was being encouraged. Businesses go where they see opportunity. All Steinitz sees is a potential cash cow.
3. Yes the CIA
Ralph Levy ,   USA   (05.27.10)
Of course the CIA is involved in Israeli internal affairs in Tel Aviv and the so called Jerusalem consulate but in this case Israel needs to be energy independent and maybe we should give some tax breaks. http://ralphsrant1.blogspot.com
4. Raymond, the problem is not the tax but the US interference
Genuine Tosefta ,   Tveria   (05.30.10)
in what is an entirely Israeli domestic decision. The fact that a US company is operating here is coincidental to this and they should comply with any governmental decision. Whether this is good economic or fiscal policy or not is a completely different matter. What is troublesome that the US feels it can stick its nose into anything it wants to in Israel. Just for this reason in my opinion Israel should raise this tax to show displeasure with such blatant acts of interference in Israeli domestic affairs on the part of the US, recall the "slap in the face" claim Americans made with regard to residential construction in Jerusalem.
