1. I served
caligula ,   belgium   (05.25.10)
in two world wars and i single handedly defeated two enemy battalions..see? How easy is it to spew rubbish and create any scenario that comes to mind while sipping coffee behind a keyboard, while in reality only the romantic or incredibly moronic person will buy this piece of crap you just wrote..after all there are recorded and archived footage when the IDF simply cut tail and whimpered back to Israel.no need for all that big and fancy military jargon and complex analysis.
2. 1- caligula-is your horse a senator yet?
(05.25.10)
3. Ron Ben-Yishai,
Salma ,   Palestine   (05.25.10)
hope you listened to Sayyed Nasrallah's speech ,Even your ships are not safe, you Would not dare to any a well-planned military campaign,Not anymore good night
4. CHARATER OF ISRAELIS CANT LIVE WITHOUT WARS ...
ATİLLA KARAGÖZOĞLU   (05.25.10)
LEBANON LEBANON LEBANON YOU TALK TOO MUCH ABOUT LEBANON. YOU ( ISRAEL ) DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH NONE SERIOUS SUBJECTS. HERE I AM. WITH PATIENT I AM WAITING TO SEE THE TOMORROWS. *** no advice you need, israel ! no advice. you know all. AS YOU SAID ! WORDS ARE OVER.
5. Israel's abandonment of SLA left it with few sympathizers
Beirut Man ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (05.26.10)
There was a time when many Christian Lebanese sympathized with Israelis and identified with their struggle of trying to forge ahead a non-Islamic country in the ME. However, Israel's betrayal of its Lebanese allies and its subsequent hateful war in 2006 (cluster bombs and phosphorous) leave it with very few Christian allies who can relate or even trust the American-Israeli axis. If Hezbollah wants to hit Tel Aviv there are no tears lost. Israel can have a taste of its own medicine!
6. Malarkey!
Popsiq ,   Toronto,Canada   (05.26.10)
So Hamas thinks Israel is a paper tiger? So that is supposed to justify the next time Israel does 'deterrent' in southern Lebanon. What a load of codswallop! Isreal should keep in reaching out totouch her neighbours. One of these times the Arabs are going to get their act together and force somebody to go nuclear. See how much sympathy the world has for another Hiroshima.
7. I was only in basic training
roli ,   miami beach, USA   (05.26.10)
when the pullout happened to the consternation of some, and the hopefulness of others including myself. All that was dashed when the 2nd intifada began, in my memory, with the cold blooded murder of an Ethiopian-Israeli border guard by a PA police on a joint patrol. Later I saw some of the suburbs in the north that were given to the Christians and Muslim families of the SLA, the buildings were the same kind as from Kfar Chabad I think. We were more prepared to help our friends then than ourselves after the Gaza dis-engagement, it seems.
8. Historical Analogy
W. ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (05.26.10)
The US disengagement from Vietnam and its hasty and humiliated withdrawal of the remaining US personnel from the embassy roof-top back on April 30th 1975, with all the ensuing jubilee by NVA units, is very similar to Israel's withdrawal from South Lebanon, back in May 2000. Then, in April 24th 1981, the US-under President Carter- attempted to rescue US citizens held in Iran, however, the mission (Eagle Claw) failed and resulted in the election of President Reagen to office, with all the strategic results of this election. Something similar happened in Israel in 2006; the attempt to rescue 3 soldiers kidnapped by Hizballah, failed and ended with a big controversy which resulted in the ousting of Kadima and the election of Likud. Along the road, the US, faced some setbacks until November 2001, under Pres. Bush, when it invaded Afghanistan and later on Iraq in 2003, in retaliation to Sep 11th, 2001 attacks. Over that period the US public opinion started accepting the fact that casualties will fall to defend the Us and its interests. On the other hand I have no doubt that the State of Israel will follow a similar path and triumph in the next war whether it,s against Hizballah or their Iranian and Syrian patrons, when the Israeli public opinion will start to accept the fact that there are no victories without the necessary sacrifices.
9. The Barak Doctrine - A Proven Failure
Erich ,   Jerusalem   (05.26.10)
The Ehud Barak doctrine of dramatic but simple gestures in the face of complicated situations (facts on the ground be damned) proved itself to be a failure in his negotiations with the vile Arafat and in his cowardly retreat from Lebanon. Others who have adopted this doctrine (like Sharon and his Kadima coterie) have likewise proved to be failures. When will the Jews realize that such misguided displays only embolden an enemy hell-bent on genocide?
10. Evan more TV now, you cannot stop it...
Michael Hess ,   Charlotte, NC   (05.26.10)
...cry all you want. You tried blanket censorship during your assault on Gaza and there is still copious wall to wall perfect quality video that meshes with the Goldstone Report in spite of your puny little efforts. Good luck with that.
11. You good seller! Selling flee of IDF from Lebonan orderly
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (05.26.10)
It was retreat in disorder against committed power of Hizbullah. In fact last Lebonan war with IDF showed unlightened parts of this "TV disgrace" They terribly BEAT IDF. So TV disgrace was not showing full the facts, now more developed communication means show everything. Each Soldier has a GSM phone with camera and you have thousands of witnesses for each disgrace. Good try to sell fleeing IDF from Lebonan as if orderly withdrawal, so what was the last lebonanese disaster for IDF?
12. Where are the Israeli talkbacks on this one?
Cameron ,   USA   (05.26.10)
Hmmm
13. Let the
(05.26.10)
Muslims boast...it is their forte. Israel will only do the necessary, not talk only.
14. A well-deserved ignonimous end..
Mikesailor ,   Miami, FL   (05.26.10)
to a brutal and stupid military foray. Yet, the author, and Israelis continually miss the main point. That no amount of military force would change the outcome. And that use of such force, instead of truly searching for a political solution, only breeds hatred which is also well-deserved.
15. Retake our South Lebanon security zone forever.
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.26.10)
Israel's problems are not complex. Lebanon is a good example. Israel withdrew from our South Lebanon security zone. The result, as in the case of ALL Israeli withdrawls, was disastrous. Israeli withdrawl leads to disaster. How hard is that to understand? The solution is also simple. Retake our South Lebanon security zone forever.
16. Israeli withdrawl
Mark ,   Los Angeles USA   (05.26.10)
Israel fought the conflict with lebanon with both hands tied behind there back. The fallout from AN anti semetic europe is great, and israel did not want to deal with that.To # 5 I can assure you of this and your leaders are well aware of this. Unlike your big mouth leader who makes threats of war on Israel If one of your bombs fell on Tel Aviv. you will come to understand the power of Israels military. It was rumored that during the last conflict Israel got a message to your leaders that if one bomb landed on Tel Aviv that Israel would load missles with small neclear warheads on them and they would be used. It would be better if that rotound little man who is your leader kept his mouth shut. If he wants war then he shall have it.
17. #15 Chaim ,you said your South Lebanon zone
sami ,   Lebanon   (05.27.10)
you are lucky if your Israel stay at the size it is today.
