6. 5000 tons not 10000 tons
handala ,   jerusalem,palestine   (05.25.10)
it is well known its 5000 tons so please do not manipulate the minds of people by increasing numbers, there are 8 ships ' 5 passenger boats with some 700 people, and 3 ships filled with the aid'
7. Sink The Ship
Ron ,   Israel   (05.25.10)
Send to where they all belong !
8. Turkey out of Cyprus!

9. First, no ship should be allowed to pass
Vardina   (05.25.10)
before Gilad Shalit is release from Hamas' jail. Second, Supporting Gaza means supporting Muslim terror. Those who want to support terror against Israel should be stopped and their cargo confiscated or drownded.
10. go to EGYPT!

11. the alternative is, to wait until EACH AND EVERY LEADER on
eporue ,   europe   (05.25.10)
world asks you via media, to let those 700 people, after they've been waiting for 2 weeks on the ships, to gaza - together with the schoolbooks... dont be stupid... there is no worse PR than that... ASK FOR GILADS MOTHER TO VISIT in return - NOW !
12. Turkish aid: less iimportant than how it is delivered
Joe ,   Canada   (05.25.10)
It is obvious that the humanitarian aid on ships could have been transported & cleared (for security) on land by the Isrealis. But Turkey & other supporters of Hamas want to claim a political victory if they succeed to break the sea blockade which is implemented for good security reasons (remember, for instance the floating bombs?). Israel is not likely to let anyone on the ships to land on the Gaza coast. If the Turks cooperate, the best they can expect is that the goods will be unloaded in an Israeli harbour & then trucked to Gaza. That outcome would be more useful to Gazans than an effort to reinforce the status of Hamas which is directly responsible for their continuing miseries & the persisting jailing of hundreds of their brethen waiting to be exchanged for Shalit.
13. In exchange for Gilad Shalit; or not at all!
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (05.25.10)
14. To Israel; Furnish the Kurds With Rockets
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (05.25.10)
And the Armenian pleading to define the genocide as genocide...pushed by some Jewish legislators, could be but one answer to Turkey. Another is for Israel to shoot down their helicopters. A 3rd is to sink the ships, after appropriate warnnngs. What will Israel do? Most likely board the ships, and if the cargo is okay, take the middle ground and allow them to dock in Gaza ports. Supplying the Kurds with advanced missiles, hand held rockets, anti-aircraft weaponry is another alternative. Or, Israel could take action against Hamas/Hez..open up those fronts with massive attacks, using Golani and Givati troops. Are you listening Herr Goldstone? This is what you wrought.
15. 14.4 % unemployed in Turkey
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (05.25.10)
The official unemployment rate in Turkey is 14.4% but actual numbers are much bigger. There are families that can not feed their children meat because the meat prices are too high and even the imports did not lower the prices. Turkey should find a cure to their own hunger and poverty problem first. What Turkey is doing with these boats can be described in Turkish as KEL BASA SIMSIR TARAK ((Ivory comb for a bald head)
16. :: Say OK with condition that Israel sends "humanitarian"

18. Why does it bother so much...?
Deena ,   Tel Aviv   (05.25.10)
19. when will the Turks learn
joe   (05.25.10)
Mr Ahmet Dvutoglu; when you succeed in persuading your hamas friends to return Shalit home,,tear up their racist covenant, eliminate their arsenal, recognise Israel, you would have then created the proper climate for a fruitful dialogue. Until then, their rockets, explosives, tunnels, will bring them nothing but more misery. if they revel in living by choice in squalor, misery, governed by a bunch of thugs, that's OK Mr Ahmet Davutoglu, your services are not required nor welcomed. Please pass this message to Mr Erdogan. Thank you.
20. Do you all have hearts or what?
Aseel ,   Brooklyn Ny USA   (05.25.10)
this is a humanitarian act, its not like they have those ships filled with rockets to supply Hamas. People are starving under this Gaza prison....this is a true holucoust.....your only killing those innocent civilians who have suffered enough to die slowly......Just becuase Hamas had one of your soldiers as a war prisoners, it doesnt mean those people have to suffer......
21. #15 David Israel
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (05.25.10)
The Turkish cure against hunger and poverty is called "EU membership". But this aint gonna happen.
22. TALKBACK NR. 13.

THIS IS A WERY GOD SUGGESTION I THINK. IT WILL TEST THE HAMAS LEADERSHIP, IF IT CARES ABOUT ITS OWN POPULATION. IF THEY DONT - NOTHING BUT MILITARY MEANS WILL FREE SHALIT. Arn.
23. Tons for Hamas but not one gram from Red Cross for POW Shali

24. #20 Aseel
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (05.25.10)
The average income in the Gaza Strip is higher than in Egypt - and the "Palestinians" do not even have to work for it. But if they spend all their money for weapons and have nothing left for food etc. - who cares.
25. Heres the deal!!!!
Robert ,   farmington,wv   (05.25.10)
Heres the deal you removel the anti-aircraft system off you boarders protecting iran , and break ties with iran, then we will let ships come into gaza , until then no-deal...... may the lord forever bless the state of israel.
26. Are they bringing chlorine for Gaza's new swimming pool?
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (05.25.10)
The average Gaza resident lives far better than the average Egyptian, as Albrecht in Germany has noted. Essential needs and then some are covered by international aid. And let's drop the "world's biggest jail" and "Warsaw ghetto" references. Gaza just inaugurated a new Olympic-size pool. http://www.maannews.net/eng/ViewDetails.aspx?ID=285242 The fact is this flotilla is a publicity stunt to embarrass Israel. They hardly need 700 passengers to cart a few ships worth of aid. That aid, of course, *could* have been routed via Egypt or Israel were it all about aid. But it's not, and everyone knows it. And it pales beside what Israel delivers directly to Gaza every week.
27. ONE DAY GAZA WINS AND THAT DAY ISRAEL LOSES TRULY.
ATİLLA KARAGÖZOĞLU   (05.25.10)
28. #20 - Actually, they're not starving per Pal news
William ,   Israel   (05.25.10)
Many Palestinian news articles showed the Gazans are not starving, and some doing quite well. The pictures shown to Western media of "starving" Gazans is the very small enclave in NE Gaza which has been traditionally poor since Egyptian rule 60 years ago. If the "activists" were so interested in the well-bring of Gazans, they could pass the aid to the UN via Israel, which will include it in its many tons of aid shipped daily into Gaza. The point is - this is a publicity stunt to legitimize a terrorist ruled entity, while blatantly ignoring its war crimes, which is a collective punishment on civilians on both sides. It was Hamas who killed the economy there by targeting joint industrial zones and border crossings. To ignore their role in their people's demise is to give them false credibility and continue their abuse of the people...."making them suffer enough to die slowly".
